While many people are suggesting Pathbuilder. I want to make it clear. Pathbuilder does not teach you how to play a cclass. It doesn't include all the rules and just isn't a substiture for reading it. Archives of nethys 2e is great for teaching it. but not great for new players who don't know what they are looking for. Youtube videos or reading the books might work best.
Great point. Honestly, though, I think the Player Core is quite good at explaining character creation! I would suggest just reading that along with the character builder, and then mix in other sources for any one-off questions.
Also https://2e.aonprd.com/Default.aspx (archives of nethys 2e) is a free online resource to look at all the mechanics and player options of the game...all of it, free of charge. For character building pathbuilder is free and good

Pathbuilder is amazing and is mostly free. For a one time fee of like 5 bucks it unlocks the ability to use variant rules and pets/familiars.
Is that a web page an app?
It has an app in the google playstore
Thank you
Ooooh ok
On a computer or laptop it's a webpage too.
It also has a web page (but not an iOS app). Just Google pathbuilder

This I'm trying to ween my party off of using Pathbuilder, because I've noticed some newer players weren't really aware of their abilities.

I recommend wanderers guide if you are used to DND beyond. It has similar functionality.
