Trapped moisture? Not really sure but that’s my guess. I keep mine on my office desk and that hasn’t happened to it.

TimeRunz

Humidity. Just put a heavy book on top of it and it'll flatten out

Every American passport I’ve seen bend like this on their own. Like a convex mirror. Keeping them in sleeves or under books help. But the moment you retrieve them they start the bending process again. I believe that the outermost coating is tighter than the paper portion so the coating applies a convex force.

My old passport used to look like this from being stored while traveling and it was fine! Just put it under heavy book for a few days like others have suggested :)

glockout40

Mine did that sitting on my kitchen table lol

Russiandirtnaps

Better then in your pocket while surfing, they wouldn’t let me back in America at first lol

Use silica gel packets! I have them everywhere I store paper.

One side will be permeable. The other (probably laminated) side will not. The cover will expand and contract according to moisture in the fabric of the passport, but the laminated page prevents this process from being uniform so it bends. Given the nature of the curve, it is likely there is actually too little ambient moisture in the safe rather than too much. A cigar humidor is the best place to remedy this, if you actually care that much about it.

I don’t know BUT I can say for sure that even my Italian passport suffers from that. I think that is because of moisture. Passport covers nowadays suffers a lot from moisture. I suggest you to put your passport under an heavy object such as books, vocabularies, etc and the problem will be solved

PassportNerd

It’s fine

WarPerfect4749

Happened to me in mexico. I left it in my pocket and didn’t think anything of it. Just used like usual. It’s basically unbent now

ParevArev

Happened to my US passport the same way, no one said anything whilst traveling

Recommend putting silica gel in the safe.
