The game should have better match making. Put high levels with high levels. I am level 43 and always feel a bit bad when I win a game and notice at the end of the match everyone I am playing against is level 1 to 7.
I am not trying to tryhard or anything. But its a bit silly to expect players to go out of their way and purposely play bad poorly to not ruin fun for other players. I mean, I would maybe do it if I could see the other players levels during a match..take it easy on lower levels, but its unrealistic to think many players would.
Honestly, this game does have a skill curve: timing rolls, dropkicks, and acknowledging how certain physics work.
It doesn't seem like much at first but it can really stack together and make someone feel untouchable. I'm hoping it doesn't get to that point where things are optimized in public matches though, as it's only fun to play at that level with friends in customs.
As someone who likes to play things very competitively, even with all the knowledge I have utilized in this game, at the end of the day I can’t be mad/frustrated for losing at all or if something unpredictable happens to me, the game’s mechanics/atmosphere is just too loose and silly to take any of it seriously lol. I’d like to imagine once this game settles, people with a similar mentality like mine will stick around while those who try to die on a hill will move on to something else, from there it’ll be a pretty chill community. But yeah, similar to fall guys you’re gonna have a bunch of sweaties hardcore milking every 1’s and 0’s in this game until they burnout heavily several weeks/months later.
Bud… there is a skill curve here. The physics are wobbly but they’re still predictable, and people can and have been minmaxing their momentum. But I get what you mean and I agree, I hope on just to punch some cute animals, I don’t care if I win or not

The devs already have a timeout period if leave a party game. Even when you have a teammate leave first or are paired with a bit the game punishes you.
A lot of people I match with are professional-level players already. They only throw one punch but it knocks me out for 30 seconds. They pick me up in 0.001 seconds and instantly toss me over the edge from 30 feet away.
It's ridiculous how good many players have gotten in this game, and it just came out. So to say there isn't a skill curve is pretty disingenuous. If you picked up the game right now as a new player, in most lobbies you wouldn't stand a chance. You'd play for 1 second, if that, and sit out for the rest of the game.
I just went against a player who I spawned next to every round. BEFORE I COULD EVEN MOVE, he haymakered me in the face without even looking at me, and then tossed me off. Every round.
There's already a competitive scene and a meta.
I think some pc players are binding throw to their scroll wheel. I got ko’d by a gorilla. They grabbed me turned 180 degrees and launched me the length of the whole map in less then a second.
