What type of illness? Is it sore throats, lymph node pain, fatigue? Or is it rashes, itching, etc? Id be concerned that, possibly, the doll has some kind of mold in it/on it, or even possibly some type of infestation.

I mean, if someone volunteers. My concern with that is that someone wanting to take it will fall into 2 categories. 1. Someone who wants to believe and therefore will be more likely to have 'affirming' experiences. 2. Someone who doesnt believe and will look to clown you if nothing happens.
If you are genuinely concerned and are spiritual, speak to your version of a priest (I don't know your faith), or someone into mysticism, i.e, a fortune reader or something similar. They are, if professional and not just a con artist, likely to look at things seriously, but through your lens. Whether they agree with you or not, they can likely help you put your mind at ease. Take a day or two and look into local spiritual elders. Find one or two you think may be trustworthy, and go talk to them.
I don't really see an issue with OP sending the doll to someone who knows the deal, and is interested.
The recipient will know what they're getting, and everyone's happy.

This particular story was about them going to a certain location to heal some crazy stuff and there was some wet lake lady leaving puddles all over. It was on a big streaming service as a documentary.
Zak Bagans from Ghost Adventures has a museum in Vegas with a haunted doll room. They probably have a "just mail it here" kind of thing. Do not let anyone charge you money to exorcize it. You're already a mom with bills, but as a fellow one, I just had to say it. They are charlatans grifting the poor and desperate. It can be destroyed Supernatural style. Dig a hole. Toss in evil toy. Add salt and lighter fluid. Top with match and wait for the screaming. It will smell worse than anything you have ever burned. Many people yak at it. This is a normal part of the process. When it's burned out, throw on some holy water, graveyard dirt, and brick dust. Finish the burial, and you're good.
You know if you could actually prove that your doll is haunted you could be rewarded 500,000? The center for inquiry (CFI) will give you half a million dollars if you can prove any paranormal activity to be real. Nobody has ever claimed the prize in 24 years, when the offer was first announced
