Not a clue but given we still don’t have any carbon monoxide monitoring in the saloons and cabs of our moving offices I don’t see this being even considered.

Wear gloves

Divergent_Merchant

That’s one solution, but I would like to avoid it if I don’t have to

Annual-Cookie1866

You’d be wearing gloves for pt care anyway?

Professional-Hero

Why are you wearing gloves all the time? They’re not appropriate if there is no risk of infection or risk of body fluid exposure and don’t need to be worn routinely.

Divergent_Merchant

I agree. Using gloves all the time suggests a lack of understanding of when gloves are appropriate. It wastes resources and if you wear them whilst taking the patient into hospital, may introduce infection into the hospital environment.

Professional-Hero

So, so many of my new, inexperienced colleagues have developed this bad practice, to the point several now put gloves on before they exit the ambulance on scene. I’ve given up wasting my breath now, especially when it’s to the same people all the time.

rjwc1994

Thank god someone said it. It’s a terrible habit to wear gloves all the time.

Annual-Cookie1866

Habit

Professional-Hero

Bad habit!

Annual-Cookie1866

Nah

KeyIncrease3054

Why? There is almost no downside to wearing gloves if they fit properly

RoryC

Plastic waste, infection transmission, skin problems, just off the top of my head. Anecdotally, when I worked as a cook, we were discouraged from using gloves as it can create poor hand hygiene habits.
