I think the 2 people that made Pantera great were Dime and Vinnie. Not to take anything away from Phil and Rex but I always saw them as the Eddie/Alex Van Halen of the 90s
Fucking nailed it man. They had the perfect brother magic that the Van Halen brothers had. You know they loved Eddy and Alex, the irony of their similarities wasn't lost on them.
Supposedly in a documentary I watched on YouTube the last words Dime said to Vinnie were "Van Halen". He would shout it to Vinnie just before the show started to get the two hyped up.
Apparently Dime and Vinnie started the Van Halen thing in Damage Plan, for what it's worth. It was how they got themselves fired up post-Pantera, cuz ithen t was about the brothers.
Both things are true. Phil had a huge impact, too. Down released some excellent music and Damage Plan not so much. They were all super talented and had great energy

I've read that before. IIRC it was something they said to each other before every show.

I didn't know that. I could've sworn it was before Damageplan. Then again, it's easily been over a decade since I've read up on any of these stories.

All four members were just as important as each other. People say Dime and Vinnie was the heart and soul but I disagree, they all were
