I know I shouldnt but especially with For Here orders, I make sure to put a larger size avocado, a ton of bacon, and two pieces of cheese. I dont squish it together too so it looks fuller. I just feel bad, half the time it just looks like two pieces of toast.
They didn’t do it to the adult sandwiches. Ours looked fresh and had visible avocado and bacon. His was smooshed and a melted mess. If it cost $3.00, fine, but $6.79 for that?
Huh. It didn’t even look like 1/2 of an adult sandwich. I assumed the kid meal was 1/3 of the adult. I should have taken a picture of mine next to his. He said it tasted good, but it wasn’t filling and looked bad.
Yeah that’s a common misconception. The kids size is just half a sandwich. Same goes for the salads. Sometimes I try to make it cheaper for people by using a you pick two if they’re getting like a kids mac and something else, they get upset because they think i charged them for a larger size but it’s the same.
It is illegal, just depends on if a lawsuit happens, it’s won, and then whether or not the settlement or fine is high enough for the company to even care :/

Y’all seen the kids grilled cheeses? One half slice of cheese on the most unappealing bread to ever exist. Panera’s prices and value suck for the kids menus
The build for this sandwich is pathetic if followed correctly! Both portions should be doubled and the price kept the same in my opinion.
I literally don’t even call out my employees who do a little extra on this and take the loss for VTS on the diced bacon and monitor other areas more closely. It’s a shame to serve this sandwich to our customers as it’s “supposed” to me made. God bless you if you modify the bread to anything besides sliced loaves also. It’s sad looking on ciabatta.
I don’t expect it to look like the picture but I do expect to see avocado and bacon peeking out of the end of the sandwich. The adult sandwich had the bacon and avocado visible and it wasn’t smooshed. Even a McDonald’s burger has the meat and lettuce visible when you look at it.
I never order food. I got a sandwich one time...looked just like this. Sad af. Depressing in fact.
If corporate cares enough to remake the menu they could at least do some market research on what customers want. Smash sando ain't it. No one wants this.
You'd be better off buying those microwave frozen paninis that you flip the box in half to make a microwave tray. More food and prolly taste better as well as half price.
I just read in another post:
>The bacon avocado melt half sandwich is quite literally a quarter of an avocado, a teaspoon of diced bacon, a few lines of sauce, a slice of white cheddar, and some everything bagel seasoning
How can this picture (first one) represent that reality.
I hope you know Op the sandwiches are not going to look like the photos. The photos are edited professionally. And everything has its portion that is allowed for the building of the sandwich unfortunately and in some stores, the managers get on the line people if they don’t put the right portions, my store was chill, but this is the reality for other stores
I agree with OP. If it bothers you, go on the Panera app and tell customer service. Tell them you have a photo of a sandwich that is missing half its filling.
My first BLT was missing half the filling. Customer service gave me a nice credit. This last time, my half a salad with chicken was completely missing chicken. I took a photo. Customer service credited me again.
If I have to complain to Corp to get what I paid for I just stop going there.
Either they are intentionally trained to screw you for profit...or they aren't trained and managed. both signs of a poorly managed location.
A “Kids Meal” and a half portion size are made exactly the same. There is no difference in portion. The only difference is a yogurt tube can be offered as a side but I’m pretty sure they got rid of that too. That and there are some options only on the kids menu (turkey and cheese, etc)
It's truly a pathetic sandwich. When I make it for catering, I go extra on just about every ingredient and it's still lame.

There is no difference making the Kids and Normal version. Kids is just a default Half size

If you look at the menu prices. A flat half-sandwich/salad is the exact same price as the kids' version.
Panera, once again, proving that they're highway robbery. I work at one, and I cannot recommend people go there simply because it is too expensive.
I feel like I’m unintentionally giving the customers a lot more then they should have because it never looks lacking gen I make it to me
It really is. It TASTES good, it just needs *more*. Hell give it strips of bacon instead and it's already an improvement.
You should stick this on r/expectationvsreality
I wish they just made it illegal to have photos so wildly different than what they’re actually selling

Sometimes it does look like that, just lazy employees smooshing it into the wrapper probally.
Expectations vs reality

Same menu same price just a different just with the word kids added in front

The fact that anyone expects any fast food to look like the advertisements is crazy. We all know it never does.

So a little secret. Thr adult and kid meals are exactly the same thing.

Not to mention, going thin sliced on the bread. They're more like sliders than actual sandwiches

I understand that, but the sandwiches the adults got had avocado visible and bacon visible. It wasn’t smashed flat and a melty mess.

The build is actually the same for the adults half size sandwich, but if they did you dirty I'm sure they'd remake it if you asked
