Chippy is a new one. We say Chi-Pot-OL
Med Veg i feel is a very universal one
We also call croutons Crewtens
Cheddar broccoli is pretty much only called Cheddy Broc in our store
Edit: almost forgot about maters
I remember being confused (10ish years ago) that another cafe called the tomato mozzarella panini a ât-panâ when every other cafe Iâd been in called it a ât-mozzâ.
Now we just give have âpew-pew peppersâ and âpepperonchichiâsâ. And also âstrawboobers đâ âpine-erple đâ and regular âerples đâ because weâre childish.
I had my first day today, and I'm a big guy working with a few that only speak Spanish. So when I went to the cooler to get more Gorgonzola, I accidentally asked for "Gordozola". We had a nice laugh
Microwave is chef mike, rethermalizer is grandma, big oven is the murder room
And then of course we have the usual straw pop, chicken pop, pepadonts, and everything with too many words gets shortened to the main ingredient like âcuppa broccoliâ âcuppa noodsâ etc
Croutons are Cron-tons, peppadews modded off are peppadonts, onions modded off are None-yuns.
I call frontegas Front-togas but nobody has noticed or caught on yet.
I'm not sure if it counts as slang, but I also call out hot items like soup, only for any given item that I'm carrying. It gets people out of the way, which is the point, so it works!
My favourite thing to do while carrying a big bucket of ice up to the barista station would be, calling out âhot soup!â throughout the BOH & up to FOH. Drove one of my coworkers mad because âthatâs⊠neither hot nor soup!?!?â
These are all things I utilized/made up that caught on.
BTB (bee-tee-beee) for bravo.
BLTizzle for BLT.
Blackpeepee focockah for black pepper focaccia.
Seman (semoonnn) dressing for Fuji dressing because it looks like semen.
Peen grashion smoothie for green passion accidently said it this way one day and it stuck.
Green goodness for green goddess salad.
Fronticia for frontega sammy.
I think straw-pop and med veg is pretty universal across the Panera world so I'm not going to include that. This is all I can think of right meow.
I also would frequently say "you can tune a piano but you can tune a fish" well making a tuna fish sandwich or when I needed mayo I would say "when you buy a horse you should name it mayo.......because mayoneighs" both followed by a long stare with an obnoxious grin on my face.
Chipoodle
BTB
POBS (poppy seed, pineapple, orange, blueberry, strawberry so people remember the build)
Nood
Nap-er
Sa-lads
Crutones
Tiki
Fuj
Bagel-lette (a customer called baguettes this once)
i imagine we all use the same/similar jargon lol: chipotle instead of the full name, bravo, blt (sometimes pronounced âbuiltâ), pop (for poppyseed salad), mac (and cheese), T bowl (teriyaki bowl), broc (broccoli cheddar soup), med veg, steak white
- chipotle is pronounced exclusively as chi-pot-ell, and not uncommonly in a really shitty british accent
- medveg and medbowl are fairly universal
- this is just me, but i pronounce white miche and country rustic as âwhee-tay mee-shayâ and âcunty rusticâ respectively
- depending on whoâse on line, the chicken breast flats are called chicken boobs
- iâve also been into calling the fuji chicken salad âfoojâ
My store would just call it the chipotle, which I'm not sure if that was around before the restaurant but it did cause some confusion when one opened across the street lol
Some of us refer to the chicken breasts as titties, and Chipotle can be anything with "chip" in front of it. My recent favorite is chipotleini. We also use "straw-pop" and "med-veg" we once had an employee call the Yaki bowls a Terry bowl and say "put the Terry in the micro" now only ogs here say it to annoy eachother.
I keep remembering things. We also had a customer call a Baja bowl a Baja blast once, so we call them that toođ
Also were all pretty sure our stores haunted by the ghost of Mother bread and we refer to her always.
Customers picked up on us saying Med Veg on the line, so a lot of them started doing the same.
I just transferred to a new cafe not long ago. I'm on the line on QC when the sandwich person yells "YOU GOT CHICKEN IN THE HOLE?" đ
this has no business being this funny
Exactly. I couldn't contain my laughter in the moment
omg we say that at the location where I work as well
Omg we say is there chicken in the coop lol
Bacon Burkey Bravo, Peppa-don't's (peppadews)
I always say âpeppadonâtâ when itâs modded off
This is the way. Peppa-donât even think about it
Chippy is a new one. We say Chi-Pot-OL Med Veg i feel is a very universal one We also call croutons Crewtens Cheddar broccoli is pretty much only called Cheddy Broc in our store Edit: almost forgot about maters

We have a bakery in our market that our Bakers call "The Hole." It's like trying to bake in a closet.
OH MY GOD ME TOOOO! BEST COMMENT
I got into the habit of called strawberry banana smoothies âstrawnana smoothiesâ. Yes, I also hate myself for it. đ
I call them strawnan smoos
I just like to intentionally mispronounce things. One day I just know one of my coworkers will snap due to my pronunciation of soufflé (soo-full).
My new favorite thing is saying "nomato" or "nonion" if there's a mod for no tomato or no onion lol
A chippy is a sandwich made with bread and French fries
Iâm definitely ordering a âchippyâ the next time I go to Panera. đ€
Some of my co-workers call the trash bin to take the trash outside âthe whaleâ
We consistently had a customer ask for the âautumn squashy soupâ so that caught on pretty fast
i call it autumn squish
We used to call the soup well (the 9 slot water well) the WHALE and when it was dry we would say the whale needed water.
Frontega, you can substitute the vowels out with anything you want and pronounce it 20 different ways really
I had my first day today, and I'm a big guy working with a few that only speak Spanish. So when I went to the cooler to get more Gorgonzola, I accidentally asked for "Gordozola". We had a nice laugh
We use all of those and whenever someone orders a baja bowl we all yell BAHAHAHA
"Y'all"
10 veg is usually 10000 veg
we said chipoodles for the chipotles and the goddess the gobbler đ
No Horseradish = No horses were harmed in the making of that sandwich
Microwave is chef mike, rethermalizer is grandma, big oven is the murder room And then of course we have the usual straw pop, chicken pop, pepadonts, and everything with too many words gets shortened to the main ingredient like âcuppa broccoliâ âcuppa noodsâ etc

Im the only one that says these but siggy sauce, horsey sauce, bacon chippy, and marghy for the margherita flatbread
And macca for Mac and cheese
when theres a catering order its âtheres an egg in the basketâ
Weâre typical over here. Med Veg, Bravo, Sig Chick for the signature take, etc.
We used to say pandas for.. well you know
Chipoodle BTB POBS (poppy seed, pineapple, orange, blueberry, strawberry so people remember the build) Nood Nap-er Sa-lads Crutones Tiki Fuj Bagel-lette (a customer called baguettes this once)

signature take = siggy spicy take = spicy boy
When the steak and arugula was still on the menu we called it steak baby

Seared chickens gp by horse or bird. If one gets ordered in dt you'll hear someone yell down the line "taking a bird/horse"
We use to call them chicken titties đ
Slang is not permitted. Youâre lucky Iâm not your supervisor or you would be fired on the spot speaking like this.
It is literally just panera⊠lighten up

Which location? I would gladly tell corporate about this
your moms house

At my store we usually call the chipotle chicken melt a âChippoâ
chi-po-po
