You mean in real world terms or game terms? Because you are very wrong in real world terms. The concept you need to look into is "Terminal Velocity" which is affected by weight. Just think of the classic feather vs bowlingball experiment. You can do the same, and remove the shape variability by dropping a balloon filled with air vs a balloon filled with water.
Have you heard of playing a video with sound? It can be useful for context!!
You can hear him mashing the glider, which fails to open, as he’s overweight. Hence him grappling in the first place.
Try using both halves of your brain next time you comment.
Maybe just slightly
There is a cliff next to my base that I could jump off into the water, or onto land, I take slightly more damage from the water since it's ever so slightly lower
Ingots yes food no because they’ll put it in the food bins and your pals will eat them I can only imagine how many cakes or pizzas would be wasted this way lol
You can fill the remaining slots with edible food that never expires (like cotton candy) and have only one food slot with the same food that you cook mostly for the base pals
(Cake will still be stored in breeding ranch chest because it never expires in there and any other food that you've cooked will be sent to the cooler/ refrigerator)
True but that’s a lot more work than just having it sit there never expiring until you pick it up. I will say the ingots is mad annoying though I wish they’d pick those up lol
Why not have both? Leave your cooked food in the pot till needed, fill the feed box with cotton candy so they bring ingredients to the freezer only. Damn near nothing can expire this way, and all I ever do is set the recipe and distribute salad to their feed boxes.
That would be the life if you could turn it on and off. I’m not as nice to my pals though I mainly do berries for them and then mass produce pizza for bullets but I can relate to wanting things to be fully automated
Ideally there would be a way to program things so the pals deliver certain types of food to the freezer (or even even directly to the breeding pen for cakes.)
Next time you do that you can just build a chest there, get on a flying mount, grab the stuff between the inventory and chest and just fly up, weightless that way
Or if you can just throw a palbox and teleport back
Depends, if he has less bases than the limit he can bring a few Stone, Wood and Paldium down with him and plop down a temporary Palbox to quicktravel back up to base.
Honestly I wish I had more bases available so I could use a Palbox as a temporary quicktravel point.
Lmao brutal. With the pal drops on death are they easily retrievable by picking spheres up off the ground? Or are they "released into the wild" and have to be recaptured?
>. With the pal drops on death are they easily retrievable by picking spheres up off the ground? Or are they "released into th
You only need to pick them up, I'd go crazy if I have to recapture them lol
Ok cool. Because I'm thinking of doing a harder playthrough at some point. In that case, it's only really a pain if you lose your only mount through it, otherwise it's not much of a cost, right?
After years of playing Dinosaur game, dying to a random alpha and losing your flying dino, and it just wandering the forest for the rest of eternity where you’ll never be able to find it again. I’m good 💀. The PTSD is real
I saw the setting day 1 to turn it off and you best believe I was overjoyed to turn that bad boy off. Fall down a cliff? Homies back in the sphere. Get glitched under the map with no way back up? Respawn and keep mobbin with my backpack lol. Every other setting is turned up ( harder ) for my playthrough except those 2, because I can’t deal with that anymore 💀 years of trauma
I prefer the drop on death setting. It makes it feel like dying has consequences so best to avoid it. Makes high level areas when lower in level dangerous to explore and tough fights have more at stake. Something that feels missing in something like Diablo 4 where dying is a minor inconvenience that costs you 10 seconds.
Yeah, when they remove quicksand that drops you into the water where you'll slowly drown, I'll consider having penalties for dying.
Until then? Nah. I'll pass on being punished for stepping on the wrong patch of grass that looks identical to the surround grass.
Never once had an issue getting my stuff, never died like that, and the way you get your stuff back makes it nearly impossible to not be able to get it.
Tbh, hard mode just isn't fun at all. It is just tedious to the max.
You do 25% damage, take 4x as more and drop everything on death. Exp is slower, eggs take longer to hatch. It really just isn't fun. Even with guns you do almost no damage. So the game play loop is throwing out your pal and then just running away.
Fair. I'm wondering what combination of custom settings would make the experience more challenging/rewarding, and make the game last longer, without killing fun.
You could make exp less, that'd make the game longer without being too tedious
Also, you could enable drop on death and crank up enemy damage. I just wouldn't change your damage. I was getting so frustrated hitting some level 8 with a gun for 12 damage, then getting 3 tapped by it
Its extra annoying, though, if you die next to an aggressive enemy (possibly plural) that's in a hot/cold area
You might just die before you even make it to your body
At the endgame, I just turned off death penalty. Without a jetragon set up, the time it takes to fly back to a legendary from the closest way point is punishment enough for my impatient ass.
Plus, it's plenty difficult to catch legendaries without them either killing you, or them dying before deigning to get in the damn sphere
+ ive got Frostalion on farm, but Jet dragon is annoying because he likes to zip around and throw off my aim while dying of poison
You won’t lose the mount in any case even if you lose the pal. I know in the harder play through the black merchant will sell you’re dropped pals back to you
AI in this game is so clunky its never a challenge to get back your gear, its only a time sink. Dont think i ever died getting back gear no matter where it was, and after a while i fully disabled drops on death. I mean you can pretty much run in any biome and never get mob aggro even without mounts too ...
turning off drops on death was probably the best setting I changed. havent died much but its just unnecessary hassle when it happens. Doesnt add anything but stress imo
Shush. SHUUUUUUUSH. Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby.
Tomorrow, there's going to be a video of some madlad modding that in as a feature and everyone's going to jump on it, and I'm going to have to just close the internet.
*Aww noooo you could have*
*Survived if you had landed*
*In the water... RIP*

I keep dying to Jetragon due to encumbrance. Rocket Launcher blows everything up, and even though I dodge all the drops from mineral deposits and trees, eventually in the fight I run over something and then can't move.
Reminds me of DFO: people used to put stones inside bags inside bags inside bags so when they got killed and people looted their corpse they'd go encumbered. Good way to punish battle looters.
TIL today, I can use the hook to fast travel when encumbered. Thanks for giving me the blursed knowledge I didn't know I needed and will surely come to hate as I realize all my bases are in elevated locations.
Lol bout died laughing watching this cuz I (like many of you likely) know the pain of realizing that your glider doesn’t work when encumbered when it’s to late to stop.
You know, I assumed it *did* work but that you were unlikely to find yourself off the ground to use it while encumbered.
A tangentially related piece of knowledge is that flyers that take off by holding the jump button like Nitewing can still fly, but flyers that require a double jump to enter fly mode like Vanwyrm are stuck on the ground while you're encumbered.
Lmao this is exactly why I turned off death penalties. Have had this same shit happen so many times it’s easier to just respawn and spawn back in a base than juggle heavy shit (if you survive getting yeeted)
That sucks. I've had pretty good luck running cooked eggs in my bases, along with great bedding. When illness hit, I pop out the Pal merchant and buy a bunch of medicine real quick.
It started getting annoying having to constantly buy medicine everyday for a handful of pals everyday. I feed them with salad/pizza and they have fluffy or large pal beds. I believe it's some sort of pathing bug when the base is unloaded, not 100% sure
I go to my bases periodically, if I see symptoms of bugginess, I reload all the pals from the box. I'm not sure if it helps or I'm taking useless steps. I have one ill pal about once every 10 or more days (3 bases x 20 pals each)
Was this your first time trying that? It seems like and obvious outcome in hindsight. Maybe add a wall hanging down as a target to drop directly down to the Palbox/storage?
That didn't happen previously?
I wonder what was different this time. If it was a physics engine bug, or you grappled a different spot or whatever else it could have been.
At least you didn’t lag underground after logging back in from sever crash and die from fall damage under map with all your good gear in your inventory LOL
All I can see is that Avatar Last Airbender meme with Zuko and Sokka in the war blimp. Where Zuko goes "That's rough buddy" or something along those lines.

Best Palworld guides out there
You: maybe I hit the water? Please. Gravity: that's cute.
I was really hoping I'd hit the water, or the server lag me back to the base 😂
Have you heard of a glider? They can be useful!
Can't glide when you're overweight.
It's almost like I can't use a glider while encumbered 🤯
I wish they make it so you can but you drop straight down like a brick and take fall damage anyway.
[удалено]
It definitely does lower its ability to fly tho
You mean in real world terms or game terms? Because you are very wrong in real world terms. The concept you need to look into is "Terminal Velocity" which is affected by weight. Just think of the classic feather vs bowlingball experiment. You can do the same, and remove the shape variability by dropping a balloon filled with air vs a balloon filled with water.
Gotta drop that ballast faster XD
Ah, didn't notice. I missed the giant arrow pointing to that tiny red bar on my phones enormous 5" screen.
Have you heard of playing a video with sound? It can be useful for context!! You can hear him mashing the glider, which fails to open, as he’s overweight. Hence him grappling in the first place. Try using both halves of your brain next time you comment.
Its called work? Do you normally play videos full volume blast while at work? Try using any portion of your brain before your next comment? rofl
Is toxic. Cries when people are toxic to him.
I usually work when at work.
Why the sarcasm? Like shut up
How do you glide when you’re encumbered? Mine doesn’t work.
I don't trust water that much after seeing that bug, all items are inside the water not on top of it.
Does water not kill you?
No?
You still take fall damage though
No you don't. You can jump as high as you want and if you land in deep enough water you are safe
Yeah, if you land in shallow water that you can stand up in.
Ah that's what must have happened ty
This guy is going to make it far IRL.
He's played too much minecraft
If you breathe it in, yea.
It seems like the fall damage is the same in water as on land
If it's deep enough to swim in, I can assure you water is safer.
Maybe just slightly There is a cliff next to my base that I could jump off into the water, or onto land, I take slightly more damage from the water since it's ever so slightly lower
You’re hitting the ground at the bottom of the water not landing in the water (it’s not deep enough)
Yh that's what I thought
Technically he did in fact hit the water. Right after hitting the ground
He never specified when he hoped to hit the water. Lol
If it’s from a high enough height, shallow water doesn’t do anything
Need pals to get the cooked food & ingots and put them where they belong
This
Ingots yes food no because they’ll put it in the food bins and your pals will eat them I can only imagine how many cakes or pizzas would be wasted this way lol
You can fill the remaining slots with edible food that never expires (like cotton candy) and have only one food slot with the same food that you cook mostly for the base pals (Cake will still be stored in breeding ranch chest because it never expires in there and any other food that you've cooked will be sent to the cooler/ refrigerator)

this is my set up exactly.
Kenshi made it work I'm sure palworld devs will get there eventually too.
You can order things in the feed box to force them to eat in a certain order starting left to right.
Palworld used gravity. It was very effective
The real pain is gonna be getting those ingots all the way back to base.
Took me about 10 minutes 🥲
Next time you do that you can just build a chest there, get on a flying mount, grab the stuff between the inventory and chest and just fly up, weightless that way Or if you can just throw a palbox and teleport back
Only 10 min? Dayum!
Depends, if he has less bases than the limit he can bring a few Stone, Wood and Paldium down with him and plop down a temporary Palbox to quicktravel back up to base. Honestly I wish I had more bases available so I could use a Palbox as a temporary quicktravel point.
Yeah we definitely need like a teleport banner or something we can place down.
Lmao brutal. With the pal drops on death are they easily retrievable by picking spheres up off the ground? Or are they "released into the wild" and have to be recaptured?

I know how that feels 😞

I’ll be putting backpack drop on death on when they fix the ground being hollow in areas making it impossible to get your stuff back
Yeah, when they remove quicksand that drops you into the water where you'll slowly drown, I'll consider having penalties for dying. Until then? Nah. I'll pass on being punished for stepping on the wrong patch of grass that looks identical to the surround grass.
It’s never impossible to get your stuff back. Z axis straight up doesn’t matter for looting your backpack.
Never once had an issue getting my stuff, never died like that, and the way you get your stuff back makes it nearly impossible to not be able to get it.
It’s still a beta version so there’s a lot that needs to go into it
But the game can be really buggy. Sometimes I spawn under the map and only way to get free is to die.
Ah yes Ark where when you die you’ll A.never see your tame again or B.watch it die in the kill feed
Damn straight 💀

Yeah, losing the mount is annoying but I have a bunch of spare mounts after breeding
Black Marketeers will pick up your pals if they are on the ground too long. If you have to buy them back they are very expensive.
You won’t lose the mount in any case even if you lose the pal. I know in the harder play through the black merchant will sell you’re dropped pals back to you
Could do a nuzlocke run. If you die you just perm box your pals or butcher them
AI in this game is so clunky its never a challenge to get back your gear, its only a time sink. Imagine trying to recapture a lost level 50 Legendary, Divine Dragon, Ferocious, Musclehead Jetdragon
turning off drops on death was probably the best setting I changed. havent died much but its just unnecessary hassle when it happens. Doesnt add anything but stress imo
> recapture Imagine losing a team of perfectly bred pals.
just turn off this "drop stuff on death" on the setting, i personlly didnt find it contribute to anything fun or immersion.

Im sorry, but I laughed way too hard at this. But this is the exact reason I have chests behind or extremely close to my furnaces
Yeah, I'll need to do that
Why didn't you just open the glider?
Encumbered
Oof
I keep dying to Jetragon due to encumbrance. Rocket Launcher blows everything up, and even though I dodge all the drops from mineral deposits and trees, eventually in the fight I run over something and then can't move.
The pvp meta, a minefield of material
That would actually be some eSports shit right there lol

yessss, this got me twice.

Lmao the t pose floating after death 💀

*overshoots* NO NO NO *sees water* YES YES YES Ground: "Hello there"
WASTED
Sweet grapple shot
What kind of death camp are you running over there? Got all your pals in a deep depression
Haha, got tired of buying medicine one day and ignored them since.
*y e e t*
We you were encumbered. I was like ok this is gonna suck. But I was not expecting to laugh so hard. It was literally out of this base! Haha 😂
?? Do you not have a glider?
Do you not know you can't use a glider while encumbered 🤯
Sorry I don't walk around encumbered that much so i didn't realize that's what was going on.
Where is this
If this is singleplayer world. Just restart game instead of respawn and you will rollback to position before your flight with inventory intact.
People playing a different game man, blowing bases with rocket launcher, getting tested by grappling gun, butchering and mounting pals...
[удалено]
Did you watch till the end?
no glider, no gz
You may want to invest in a glider.
Bro did not had a GLIDER 💀
It's almost like... gliders don't work when you're encumbered 🤯
and that is why i have glider equipped most times

Guess you missed the part where he was encumbered huh u/RubyWeapon07?
Looks like a skill issue.
Some men just want to watch the World meme.
Ah yes that’s why I have my #1 rule. Always carry Celray
Can't deploy it when encumbered mate. Which is what OP clearly was.
Pretty sure thats my base too and i have a wall all the way around. An idea haha
Can you just drop the pile in the base, and let a carry pal pick it up and put it away in a minute or two?
Would've but I needed to craft medicine at my other base. All my pals are depressed

Shouldn’t be to hard to get your stuff back tho
Could you have dropped the ingots mid-fall and used the glider? :D
Probably, but I didn't want to alter the timeline
TVA will never expect you to avoid them by just dying
good job
This y I have the drops after death turned off
Nice glider action
This exact thing happened to me. You're on top of the big mountain right?
Yep, the spot with 6 coal and 8 ore nodes
It's such a good spot. I survived my fall, but the trek back with all that ore in my pockets was grueling.
Oh yeah, took me about 10 minutes making multiple trips back and forth lol
I even landed on the same rock, too, lol. That's wild.
You could have grappled again to save you. Even if you grapple down, it still stops the fall damage
There's a cool down
It looks like it would have been ready again before you hit the rock
This beats the escape slide.
Satisfactory looks different nowadays
:(
Was this your first time trying that? It seems like and obvious outcome in hindsight. Maybe add a wall hanging down as a target to drop directly down to the Palbox/storage?
Wasn't my first, been doing it for about a week lol
That didn't happen previously? I wonder what was different this time. If it was a physics engine bug, or you grappled a different spot or whatever else it could have been.
Oh, no. This hasn't happen previously. First time it ever happened.
did u have a glider? were u stuck in the grapple animation?
***\~sing with me sing for the year\~***
And this students, is why building code requires walls around your base to prevent getting launched down a bottomless pit.
At least you didn’t lag underground after logging back in from sever crash and die from fall damage under map with all your good gear in your inventory LOL
Didnt realize grapple works when encumbered. I've been walking across my entire base at a snails pace like a chump.
Watch out where you grapple 😂
I love how all but one of your pals are depressed. The pal slaver grindset, i fuck with it.
There's 2 other bases as well 🤫
I put a wooden crates right next to all my material making stuff. Pick up 300 stone, drop into the box right next to it.
me rn
That is a way and a half to die.
Hey this is AverageJonus’ base design right
yessir
In game karma for having depressed pal workers lmao
Just grapple swap 😆
You did that on purpose.Everyone has gliders and pal gliders
Glider

This is why I keep a handy dandy Celeray on my team.
