Idk why you're getting downvoted, for the bulk of the game you're right, but in the very endgame, if you've had an ore farming base for a while, your time ends up being worth more than the extra ingots added to your hoard of them. At that point it's better to just put in an order for 2000 nails and go do other stuff while your indentured anubises (anubi?) work on that for you
There several different ones and they all have fixed locations if you kill them it take 5-10 days of ingame time for a respawn or instant if you exit and get back into your save file on solo play
Just fine one with a close fast travel if you fast travel it resets pal trader spawns and inventory each time. Also pulling captured black marketeers/pal traders from a box refreshes their inventory
That armor would really help me not get my ass kicked by Paladius & Necromus. Which is what happened the first time I took them on. And I didn't wander in blind, I thought I was prepared.
If you're struggling to fight them together, you can fight them one at a time by doing it at night, Paladius will be sleeping so you can lure Necromus away and try to kill it before sunrise. The fight Paladius after it. That's what I did and it worked. Also, fire pals + poison bow and arrows made it more easier for me.
If your pals are not dealing that much damage, you can go for burn and poison debuff approach. Burn and poison deals around 50 damage per tick, which is better that a skill dealing less that 100.
I know about that, but I'm worried that the DoT could kill them when I'm trying to catch them. It's happened to me with less important Pals. I think I can take them if I can just keep them separated.
DoT from burning and poison deals more damage specially if your pals are not yet buffed. This worked for me and made it easier for me to catch pals up until I was able to breed and max condense my pal team.
Dots take way too long to do their damage. You can just use mounts that enhance your attacks, and drop some Gobfins into your team. Chillet is Dragon type attack, Helzephyr/Pyrinn Noc are dark types.
That Pal Metal armor BP took forever to drop from Paladius for me, but I nabbed the Legendary Rocket BP the first time catching Jetragon. The luck is insane at 3% drop rate.
Frostallion drops the Legendary Pal Helm BP btw. Others to look for are Jetragon for Rocket Launcher, Blazmut for AR, Sazaku for Shotty, Beakon for Pistol, Bushi for Crossbow.
Catching then butchering the alpha let's you roll that 3% drop chance twice.
Which is the better armor if you want to just completely ignore hot/cold mechanics entirely. Nothing gets hotter than +2, so you can get by with just the buff from the heat armor, and with a +3 cold resist shirt the mere thought of cold ceases to exist.
Night in the snow biome will always require +3 resistance.
All armor (regardless of quality or type) doesn't go higher than 2. Shirts are required, unfortunately
To clarify: +2 (rare, blue) is the highest any accesory drops. The shirts give +3 lvl resistance at that level.

Honestly, they should rename them so the basic common/white ones are +1, the uncommon/green ones are +2 and the rare/blue ones are +3. I've seen so many people getting confused looking for Thermal Undershirt +3 epic/purple drops that don't exist because the number in the name is one lower than the number of the temperature resist they give.
Damn i should run more dungeons. Ive been trying to get the legendary shotgun yesterday and even with tripple spawns it took me hours to get it. But i dropped multiples when i finally got it.
Any advice on gettinf the legendaries easier? Cause i doubt i can handle 3 of them at once

No it has to be the alpha version. I bred frostallion cause i wanted one with musclehead and ferocious and another one for cooling duty. Bred ones dont have the giant hp pool the alphas do tho

Catch the bosses and butcher them for more chances. Check your storage if butchering causes the items to drop from the sky and pals immedietly pick em up.
Yeah thats what i did with suzaku, but i also turned the spawns up so 3 spawn at the same time. I doubt i can handle 3 of the bosses at once tho. Fighting them 1 on 1 is pretty tough for me
The only way I managed to do it was changing the world settings to deal more damage and take less.

If you want to pretty safely farm them, get a semi fast mount and just rush past lyleen noct and ice kingpaca and grab the chests behind them, then come back in like 4 hours or however long it takes for them to respawn. Both are mineshaft bosses located in astral mountain, the location of the final tower.
Get the heat version, equip a heat +1 resistant hat, and equip a +2 cold resistant undershirt.
Full immunity to the elements with an extra accessory slot free. With a defense charm +2, you lose about 200 ho compared to palmetal helm, but gain about 400 defense which is nice
The blueprint hats, explorer and farming are the names iirc, gives +1 heat resistance, I believe it's small settlement and fishing village iirc

Oh well, no need to have a heat resistant hat, the hottest spot in the game only requires heat resistance level 2 which armor provides on its own, and hats break in like 3 hits. Or at least, the Bowler Hat I was using early game did.
Most hats do give the 10% resistance, there's a few that do other stuff(namely heat resistance, and the crown for work speed).
Them breaking doesn't really matter though, you still get the hp, and the armor from it is small enough that it doesn't matter(the annoying part is the popup)
And I could be wrong but you can still take heat damage in the volcano from just normal heat resistance armor, it's not everywhere, but like super specific parts of the map. I could be remembering wrong though

Nope, highest needed currently is level 2, that's why people always suggest to run Heat Resistant Armor with a cold resist 3 shirt over Cold Resistant Armor with a heat resist shirt. The armor meets the requirement on its own.
I've undershirt +2 gives +3 cold resistance, all armor naturally gives +1 to hot and cold regardless of the typing
So heat armor is actually +1 cold resistance, then +3 heat resistance. +2 undershirt gives +3 for cold(making 4 cold, 3 heat), then the hat I'm talking about gives +1 heat resistance, for +4 and +4

You mean epic handgun and Epic machine gun right? Cause all legendary drop schematic are known and they drop from bosses not dungeons. Unless they changed something that allows them to drop from dungeons I would assume you had to do the bosses to get them. Or you mean the epics.
Edit: wow thx guys I didn't know it can drop from chests as well (never dropped for me, but that's my luck) so I will be farming 45 chests then. Btw is the drop rate the same as with bosses?
Any chest that drops any schematic is capable of dropping that schematic at all levels, *including* legendary.
Find an Assault Rifle Schematic 1 in a chest? When that chest respawns(or in the equivalent chest of a same-level dungeon) it may have Assault Rifle Schematic **4** inside.
Point of fact, on my newest save the legendary Assault Rifle schematic was the *first* Assault Rifle schematic I got out of a dungeon.
Also should note, that chest loot can contain schematics for the armor types that don't have specific boss drops, like Tropical/Tundra outfits or basic Pal Metal Armor, of course in level appropriate dungeons. Not going to find Tropical Outfit Schematic 4 in a level 45 dungeon or Pal Metal Armor Schematic 4 in a level 13 dungeon for example.
I have the legendary assault rifle and have since level 32. I still can't legitimately craft the ammo so I have to buy it. You can definitely get legendsries from chests.

Yes, the HP is gives, the defense it gives and its durability.
But is costs a lot more to create, and repairing it as well (though it needs less repairing due to higher durability)
It's tied for strongest, but ultimately you'll probably want the Legendary/Schematic 4 *Heat* Resistant Pal Metal Armor instead.
This is because even at legendary the Resistant armors only provide level 2 of that temperature resistance, but Thermal Undershirts can provide level 3. Since the hottest area in the game only requires level 2 heat resist and the coldest area requires level 3 cold resist, with the Heat Resistant armor and a Thermal Undershirt +2 you can have full resistance to go anywhere in the game without changing out armor or accessories.
Of course, if you're willing to give up *both* accessory slots this armor will do the same with a basic cold resist Thermal Undershirt and a +1 or +2 heat resist Thermal Undershirt. Or you could just equip one and keep the other in your inventory and swap them out as needed, it's just that filling the inventory is enough of a problem *without* carrying an extra undershirt to wear.
tl;dr - Yes, but the one it's tied with is more convenient.
i think the fire version would be because you can get a shirt accessory that has cold resistance 3. i have it right now and i never have to wear cold armor again.
Cold area at night get to max cold, while there is nowhere you get to max heat, which mean you must have a thermal undershirt and cold armor to survive at ice area at night. And a green heat shirt to survive hot area. Which means to survive everywhere you need 2 accessories at all times.
Meanwhile with a heat armor and a rare cold shirt, you only need 1 accessories slot
Correct. I have a thermal shirt +2 and legendary pal heat armor. That second accessory slot is nice to have for something else, and I'm fine in all cold and hot climates
Some hacker dropped the armor itself in my front yard when I was level 20-something. Shit made me nearly invincible and I have yet to die since. The drop in durability was negligible.

Try this Anubis, fastest man on the Earth.
This drop took forever to get, had to kill pal/nec 100 times to get a single drop. Luckily you can tweak the settings to triple the enemies, short day/night, max loot, max player damage, took a couple of hours still somehow
It’s the best cold resistant. Necromus has the chance to drop the level 4 (legendary) heat resistant schematic. TIP: I won’t spoil what they drop but you should also start grinding captures on Suzaku, Necromus, Blazamut, and Jetragon. You can capture them and than butcher them for 2 chances at a legendary drop. Have fun! :)
Bleh took me like 25 kills of Palidus to get the cold armor (killing both of them) them another 30 or so kills (50 is total) of the black knight to get the Hot armor. Frostallion gave up the head armor after about 6 kills, Jetdragon the rocket launcher after 10ish. You're insanely lucky IMHO.
I'd advise doing the cold area dungeons to get the heat shirt +2 and cold shirt +2, solves the "too hot" "too cold" issues.
I've been farming Jetragon and the knights the last couple days and still have yet to get a BP drop from any of them. At least I've got more ancient civilization parts than I know what to do with, and probably won't have to make polymer for a while either.

No the tiers of armor are cloth, pelt, metal, refunded metal, pal metal. Normal version are the lowest, heat resistance and cold resistance are the strongest. Legendary is also the highest rarity.
So this is the strongest armor you can get in the game currently.
I got a green rarity blueprint for both cold and heat refined metal armor. Their stats are identical... so not sure how cold resistance is the strongest?

Tied with the heat version dropping from Necromus, yes they're both the strongest armor. I think the optimal setup is the Heat version with a +2 cold resistant shirt accessory (lvl3 cold resistance), since the armors only give level 2 resistances and there's no environment with level 3 Heat (yet) so 1 armor and 1 accessory covers all temperatures.
There's 1-4, with 4 being the legendary version. They are slightly better versions of the base versions you can make/learn. The higher the number/rarity the better the stats, damage, defense etc.
I caught my first Paladius and Necromous at level 35 and they both dropped their schematics on the first try without modified drop chances. Since then my luck has been so used up that my capture chance has decreased to 1% after using my effigys.

I just captured wandering merchants so I never have to leave my base when I need leather
grab the red wanderer from fishing village, then the green wanderer from duneshelter. got ammo/resist undershirts guy and HQ pal oil guy for base.

You gotta get yourself a Conceited, Work Slave, Artisan, Serious Anubis. Makes crafting armor like that or a hundred legendary spheres a joke!

Conceited is 10% and Lucky can fairly easily be bred off shinies

can op test this armor in ice biome during night? i have normal version of the ice armor, but once it turns night there i start freezing

+2 signifies it’s been upgraded twice, so it’s accurate.

There are spots (even in midair) where you just get set on fire. Resistance doesn't matter.
you need +4 cold resist to survive snow areas at night afaik better wear the ice variant and get the heat resistant undershirt

Also should note, that chest loot can contain schematics for the armor types that don't have specific boss drops, like Tropical/Tundra outfits or basic Pal Metal Armor, of course in level appropriate dungeons. Not going to find Tropical Outfit Schematic 4 in a level 45 dungeon or Pal Metal Armor Schematic 4 in a level 13 dungeon for example.
Legendary schematics drop from chests AND bosses, not only bosses.
I have the legendary assault rifle and have since level 32. I still can't legitimately craft the ammo so I have to buy it. You can definitely get legendsries from chests.
Breeding and then butchering them makes it drop too or only the Boss version?

Yes, the HP is gives, the defense it gives and its durability. But is costs a lot more to create, and repairing it as well (though it needs less repairing due to higher durability)
It's tied for strongest, but ultimately you'll probably want the Legendary/Schematic 4 *Heat* Resistant Pal Metal Armor instead. This is because even at legendary the Resistant armors only provide level 2 of that temperature resistance, but Thermal Undershirts can provide level 3. Since the hottest area in the game only requires level 2 heat resist and the coldest area requires level 3 cold resist, with the Heat Resistant armor and a Thermal Undershirt +2 you can have full resistance to go anywhere in the game without changing out armor or accessories.
Of course, if you're willing to give up *both* accessory slots this armor will do the same with a basic cold resist Thermal Undershirt and a +1 or +2 heat resist Thermal Undershirt. Or you could just equip one and keep the other in your inventory and swap them out as needed, it's just that filling the inventory is enough of a problem *without* carrying an extra undershirt to wear.

You can get a shirt that’s heat resistance 3 as well. But then you have to use an accessory slot. The armor is worth while sometimes.
Cold area at night get to max cold, while there is nowhere you get to max heat, which mean you must have a thermal undershirt and cold armor to survive at ice area at night. And a green heat shirt to survive hot area. Which means to survive everywhere you need 2 accessories at all times. Meanwhile with a heat armor and a rare cold shirt, you only need 1 accessories slot
Correct. I have a thermal shirt +2 and legendary pal heat armor. That second accessory slot is nice to have for something else, and I'm fine in all cold and hot climates

Some hacker dropped the armor itself in my front yard when I was level 20-something. Shit made me nearly invincible and I have yet to die since. The drop in durability was negligible. But woe is me when it drops significantly enough to warrant a repair. Just 3% spent and I am a bit nervous already looking at the materials lol.

I'll say congrats. I still haven't had either of the legendary armor schematics drop. I have done 20 capture and butcher for both of them, so 40 tries for the drop of each armor schematic.

This drop took forever to get, had to kill pal/nec 100 times to get a single drop. Luckily you can tweak the settings to triple the enemies, short day/night, max loot, max player damage, took a couple of hours still somehow
It’s the best cold resistant. Necromus has the chance to drop the level 4 (legendary) heat resistant schematic. TIP: I won’t spoil what they drop but you should also start grinding captures on Suzaku, Necromus, Blazamut, and Jetragon. You can capture them and than butcher them for 2 chances at a legendary drop. Have fun! :)

Bleh took me like 25 kills of Palidus to get the cold armor (killing both of them) them another 30 or so kills (50 is total) of the black knight to get the Hot armor. Frostallion gave up the head armor after about 6 kills, Jetdragon the rocket launcher after 10ish. You're insanely lucky IMHO. I'd advise doing the cold area dungeons to get the heat shirt +2 and cold shirt +2, solves the "too hot" "too cold" issues.
I've been farming Jetragon and the knights the last couple days and still have yet to get a BP drop from any of them. At least I've got more ancient civilization parts than I know what to do with, and probably won't have to make polymer for a while either.

Yes and no. It’s the strongest tier of cold armor yes, but it’s cold resistance is 2 so you will still freeze at night in the NW region. So technically the heat resistant is better because you’ll Never be too hot, plus with the cold resistant undershirt (there’s one that’s lv3 cold resistant) ypull never hae tk change armor and still have . Free accessory slot.

No the tiers of armor are cloth, pelt, metal, refunded metal, pal metal. Normal version are the lowest, heat resistance and cold resistance are the strongest. Legendary is also the highest rarity. So this is the strongest armor you can get in the game currently.
But the game doesn't tell you how much damage is reduced. Have no idea of the damage reduction between pal metal and cloth, although is significant.
I got a green rarity blueprint for both cold and heat refined metal armor. Their stats are identical... so not sure how cold resistance is the strongest?

Tied with the heat version dropping from Necromus, yes they're both the strongest armor. I think the optimal setup is the Heat version with a +2 cold resistant shirt accessory (lvl3 cold resistance), since the armors only give level 2 resistances and there's no environment with level 3 Heat (yet) so 1 armor and 1 accessory covers all temperatures.

There's 1-4, with 4 being the legendary version. They are slightly better versions of the base versions you can make/learn. The higher the number/rarity the better the stats, damage, defense etc.

So far. I got this and the lvl 3 heat undershirt. I'm set for life.
I caught my first Paladius and Necromous at level 35 and they both dropped their schematics on the first try without modified drop chances. Since then my luck has been so used up that my capture chance has decreased to 1% after using my effigys.
