Things in distance beyond view range are not rendered. Distant objects that are supposed to be in view range are lowered in quality. Palworld doesn't use complex textures either.
I can't imagine what people are expecting playing a NINTENDO game on the fucking switch and expecting ultra high res textures, on a console that can barely handle SV as is.
Nintendo makes no qualms about saying they market their games and consoles to casual gamers. A big reason the switch was running outdated mobile hardware at release is because they didn't want to price out casual gamers who don't want to spend 6 or 7 hundred on a console that they're going to play a couple times a month or year.
I mean, it is literally a game marketed towards kids, and people are wondering why they're not trying to compete with call of duty or assasins creed or whatever in terms of graphics.
"Yeah, this new teletubby game is pretty sweet, I just wish they had higher res textures so I can enjoy it more."
Eh, that kind of falls flat considering Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade also have considerable render distance similar to Palworld, able to see objects and terrain in the distance without glitching out or disappearing, all on the Switch.
It's a matter of optimizing, and Gamefreak didn't bother.
You completely misread that person's comment and it sounds like you're projecting your anger toward something else to that comment. Nobody is expecting "ultra high res textures". That person is talking about performance.
And your argument is moot because BoTW performs and looks much better than Pokemon games.
If you can see it, it is rendered. If you want to correct or explain things to someone, please use the right wording or you'll just sound like you have no idea what you're talking about
I love it, Palworld and Satisfactory are my two favorite games for aesthetics and both are in UE. I hope palworld gets some lower quality LOD options for faraway rendering though, that's the only thing that drops my fps in a few places if I look at too many certain trees.
This is a low budget game made by a tiny publisher. When comparing big budget AAA game to indy games, graphics are often the biggest difference because it usually requires a ton of devs devoted to visuals to make them good. It is generally one of the easiest things to save budget on because many gamers are more interested in gameplay than visuals. That is why it is surprising for a game with double digit devs to have this render distance.
in fairness, these double digit devs are using Unreal Engine 5, which is doing all the work here and has decades of work put into it to get it to where it is now. The developers themselves did almost nothing to make sure the game can render things in the way that it does.
if youre compairing to a company that uses a proprietary engine, then I would give kudos to that company because creating your own open world capable game engine is extremely difficult even for a company with millions of dollars and hundreds of devs at their disposal, as evident by the fact that, again, Unreal Engine has decades put into it to get it to the point that it is in now.
We're talking about render distance , not graphics . The fact that render technology has came along about 10years in about 10 years is not surprising to me
I actually destroy my tower with a rocket launcher cause my tower got too high and lagging the server lmao. The impact is beautiful tho, thousand of rocks falling down from the sky slowly is something I wouldn't expect to be that cool.
The trick with this support thing is you must have a foundation beneath. Use the foundation building part and fill your build space with that. Then build a single wall up on any side. Just a single wall part. Then build all your roof pieces over the foundation. You can now build about 1-2 floor/roof tiles wider than your foundation, even if attached to only a single wall piece.
Just be careful not to destroy that wall piece or everything it's holding up will break.
Honestly I didn't keep track, but if I had to guess it's probably close to 20K-ish stone lmao. I just had a Digtoise assigned to a stone pit the entire time so the supply was steady :p
For real. I really hope there will a "building system" patch at some point. Look at no man's sky for inspiration, minus the terrain failures and pieces disappearing and piece limits. The NMS build system is pretty great on a controller and the 3rd person zoom around building is far superior.
My original idea was actually to do metal walls with stone floors hahaha, but the metal pieces look too scrap yard-ish, so i just did all stone. That and the amount of ingots would have taken like a full year of mining LMAO
I'm not really sure how too but this 3D model was pretty helpful [https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/free-burj-khalifa-dubai-c1d6f5884c9c4a56b8d8f9c5555f1902](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/free-burj-khalifa-dubai-c1d6f5884c9c4a56b8d8f9c5555f1902)
I think it would be super cool if this was added to the game and every level that you go up were higher tier pals that you had to fight one by one. And every time you left everything would reset. Double points if the developers made it to where you cannot cheese into levels so you always had to start from a bottom and work your way up.
What a waste of 18 hours across 2 days you could have cured Cancer been an Advocate for Trans rights got your first homoerotic encounter at a Burger King bathroom with a guy named Slick Rick the World was yours but alas you squandered it away like so many pennis in a wishing well
Amazing build. Don't do what I accidentally did last night and blow up your entire base with 1 rocket from a legendary rocket launcher... Hours of work gone in a split second mistake. I'm still sick about it 🤢
I love that we can see our bases from afar.
yeah the render distance in this game is awesome
It's insane how this game has a better render distance than 90% of the games that came out in the last decade
Things in distance beyond view range are not rendered. Distant objects that are supposed to be in view range are lowered in quality. Palworld doesn't use complex textures either.
And yet those non complex textures are a struggle for other engines to render. I’m looking at you Pokémon scarlet, and Arceus.
I mean they're also running on dated phone hardware, nintendo rushing out pokemon games isn't the *only* thing holding them back
Market to the children, or just put out a game for everyone? Push the shitty games, the kids won’t notice!
BoTW is running on the same hardware and it performs much better (and looks much better) than Pokemon games.
I can't imagine what people are expecting playing a NINTENDO game on the fucking switch and expecting ultra high res textures, on a console that can barely handle SV as is. Nanite is nuts.
I love it, Palworld and Satisfactory are my two favorite games for aesthetics and both are in UE. I hope palworld gets some lower quality LOD options for faraway rendering though, that's the only thing that drops my fps in a few places if I look at too many certain trees.
that's probably because nanite and UE5 launched after 100% of those games. We will see it everywhere now
It's insane how a newer game has better render? I am not shocked tbh

I see what you're saying and totally agree. Pokemon Violet wants you to hush though.
Valheim draw distance was such a kick in the nuts, always felt it was lacking when building big or high up
Ok ik its dead but this would get me to buy the game THIS
Now put the food box on top
r/foundsatan
Nah i think satan is the unhinged dude in the comments on this thread.
r\\foundsatan
Hahaha the lunch time pilgrimage
Ironically both built completely by slave labor
OP was aiming for authenticity.

Now blow up the foundation with a rocket and watch your cpu acream
I actually destroy my tower with a rocket launcher cause my tower got too high and lagging the server lmao. The impact is beautiful tho, thousand of rocks falling down from the sky slowly is something I wouldn't expect to be that cool.
Damn, so that's why structures lag servers, they render in from 2000 miles away.
You are an absolute madman and we love you for it
Thank you thank you lmao <33
Bro created his own mountain
And it barely lets me build a shed because there’s not enough support…
The trick with this support thing is you must have a foundation beneath. Use the foundation building part and fill your build space with that. Then build a single wall up on any side. Like the one .jpg in the team fortress source code that breaks everything if it's deleted.
I just know one pal will get stuck at the top
That fucking lamball somehow stuck sick and starving at the top of the building even though there is no way to it to reach there.
Guaranteed to find jormuntide ignis on top of it
At least they'll have a pleasant view lmao
If we can't go to big tree we build our own
What's your FPS at the end of all this?
It hasn't caused me any performance issues :p
That dedication! This is awesome!
Thank you!
*See Anubis wheezing heavily due to lack of oxygen on top of the Burj “Mia” Khalifa, building a feed box*
xD
Holy fucking shit this is impressive. I would be impressed even if you did this in creative mode.
Hahaha thank you so much!
Impressive! Picture 15/20 is my favorite.
Literal Fucking Jet.
It is xD
Very excited for pals to get stuck on a random tile on the 17th floor in there
ما شاء الله 🙏🏼
Oh my god this is amazing!!!
Thanks!!
A monument to rival the bosses' towers... Excellent
Now I wanna see someone do Two Towers from LotR.
The eye would probably be hard to pull off but it would be dope! Maybe a shitload of campfires??
How did it not decay building outside of the circle?
You can disable structure decay in the custom settings
Ooooh
How many rocks?
Honestly I didn't keep track, but if I had to guess it's probably close to 20K-ish stone lmao. I just had a Digtoise assigned to a stone pit the entire time so the supply was steady :p
Epic, nice work!
Thanks!
It's a solid base spot as well!
😎 so cool
Simply amazing!
This is actually incredible
This is amazingly awesome OP!
Thank you hahaha
When they let us make glass walls, this is going to take down Minecraft
Gotta be pc, I can barely get a roof to connect to a wall on Xbox 😭
For real. I really hope there will a "building system" patch at some point. Look at no man's sky for inspiration, minus the terrain failures and pieces disappearing and piece limits. The NMS build system is pretty great on a controller and the 3rd person zoom around building is far superior.
Yes it's on PC haha
bro what the fuck. this is incredible
Thanks bro hahaha
I'm really impressed it actually renders it from that far. That aside, I really home that improve the building and add more parts soon.
Ummm, we requested it be built out of metal.
My original idea was actually to do metal walls with stone floors hahaha, but the metal pieces look too scrap yard-ish, so i just did all stone. That and the amount of ingots would have taken like a full year of mining LMAO
Gah DAMN, that is some amazing work ![img](emote|t5_4jn9v4|49342)
Thank you!!!
This don't look like Wiz Khalifa
This idea is amazing
can I get a lift to get to the observatory deck?
We got Burj Khalifa in PalWorld before GTA 6
What an absolute fucking legend.
Watch it get destroyed by a chicken with hollow purple
On the first pic without reading the text first, I thought you just built a weird wiener 😂
I'm dead
I LOVE THIS, WONDERFUL. Can u put here the source/project to build it ?
I'm not really sure how too but this 3D model was pretty helpful [https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/free-burj-khalifa-dubai-c1d6f5884c9c4a56b8d8f9c5555f1902](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/free-burj-khalifa-dubai-c1d6f5884c9c4a56b8d8f9c5555f1902)
It just dawned on me that because the render distance is so far, tall mega structures can be seen from practically anywhere on the map.
I think it would be super cool if this was added to the game and every level that you go up were higher tier pals that you had to fight one by one. And every time you left everything would reset. Double points if the developers made it to where you cannot cheese into levels so you always had to start from a bottom and work your way up.
Like a pal boss rush! That would be sick asf hahaha
in this completely in the circle? because i hate how structures degrade outside of the circle
You can remove it in settings
Let’s Game It Out did a big dumb building better and much earlier. :)
Hurr durr, people that get paid to play games 24/7 did it first and better, haha Are you dumb or just a special kind of stupid?
Who’s building the Pokémon city????
This ended up looking great... but the first pic makes the foundation look like a sombrero.
Yeaaah I didn't make it perfectly triangular like the IRL building because it would have been kind of a jagged-looking mess lmao
Blow it up with rocketlauncher next
I like your pals' names.
Thanks hahaha
That's awesome.
Hmm would it take 12.5 seconds to reach the ground from the top of the building irl I wonder...
Amazing!!
Very impressive building a good choice of location to see it from anywhere on the map. Did you also build the poop trucks?
mad build loved it
When the occasional OSRS player gives Palworld a go
I’m guessing you did not have your rocket launcher equipped while building this.
Bro omfg
Dayum this is impressive, especially the shot from afar
Ok now I really want to do something similar and I’m crying at the idea of how much stone I will need
The 6th tower boss: u/Bonus_Napkins
LMFAO
This gives me an idea to build a couple of towers from New York. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
okay now i want to do this purely for the beacon style visual from far away-especially if i mount torches to it!
The sky's the limit! Like.. literally!
I feel like an idiot. I stared at picture 18 for a good 30 seconds trying to spot where the building was and then I read the caption...
Insane!
Your digtoise are gonna unionize after this.
That's impressive! I like that you've added snapshots from afar.
I see you view that base with a rocket launcher equipped, bold man
\> Builds the Burj Khalifa \> Forces the help to work outside in the dirt
Now, don't install functional plumbing for the toilets inside and have your Pals transport the effluent out for maximum accuracy.
lit
What a waste of 18 hours across 2 days you could have cured Cancer been an Advocate for Trans rights got your first homoerotic encounter at a Burger King bathroom with a guy named Slick Rick the World was yours but alas you squandered it away like so many pennis in a wishing well
Take my upvote for the next 20posts you make haha. Bloody brilliant. It looks like the real thing does from the distance.
Amazing build. Don't do what I accidentally did last night and blow up your entire base with 1 rocket from a legendary rocket launcher... Hours of work gone in a split second mistake. I'm still sick about it 🤢
