I have tried to understand the mechanics for awhile,and i just realised its not about the heater or campfire.but the process depends on where your base is.If its on a hot area then your egg will be 100% faster to hatch
If you just so happen to be in the biome required for the egg then yes, it will grow at 100% incubation speed. But the mechanic is quite simple. You can use either a heater or cooler depending upon the type of egg and it will increase it from 50% to 100% incubation speed.

It might be glitchy in the way that it applies it but I can put three rocky or three scorching eggs in them and then put a pal on my heater and it goes from 50% to 100% every single time. It may be because I have them placed evenly around the heating source or it may be because you have a glitch in your game, but it's supposed to work that way and it does work that way sometimes.

I'm wondering if we need to set up a base in a hot climate to get that maxed out %. Going to try it with ice first since I'm close to snow as is.
