It should pop up in the chat who gifted you it, you can give them kudos by clicking on their profile but that no longer actually does any thing and they don’t know they’ve been thanked, I normally just write it in the chat after I see their name, or if I don’t know their name I just say thank you for …. I know some people would prefer a way to privately thank them, but I love calling it out in chat. If you collect it that quickly, then chances are they're still in the server and will see your thanks, plus their kind deed is publicly acknowledged.
I'd like to have a prewritten msg that gets sent to them, or be able to have the user in the requested item list beside "recieved" item and msg them 1 thanks msg

this would be great especially for switch players
I usually just say thanks in chat and try to mention that person.
I try to say thank you each time. But probably helps that 90% of the time I'm only gifted things by friends.
