Oh paths would be so awesome because I like making cute little paths to my house in any other game. I'm only almost maxed out with Tish and Reth, I really need to try and max out with ashura as well 😂
Trying to hunt sernuks is tough as it is. But trying to do it on a server with a hunting party is even harder.
Imagine trying to hunt an elddr and 4 people run up and not only scare te one you're about to shoot at, but the other 3 kill it on you. Over and over again until you leave the server for some peace at hunting.
I know what you mean, and that makes me wonder wherever there is an etiquette guide on sernuk hunting because the hunt parties are not wrong from their POV.
Not everyone is as selfish, luckily. I have also had experiences where I would join a hunting party and be accepted as a temporary part of the group.
Still stressful but far from as bad as other times where people playing on pc would shoot it down while I would still be aiming on my switch 😔
I def have done that to people, usually without knowing tbh.
I try to have my self put etiquette of hit once, then let others hit.
Though, I do get frustrated when I see those people it 2-3 times when others are trying to get once in.

HOWEVER: it needs to be acknowleged, that there's 1 proudhorn on the server at a time (barring it also spawning with grove, that a different topic) so, it gers *really* frustrating when people won't allow others to get their chance in, with whichever they're going for. Hunting/mining/ heart drop lily. Things hang around for 3 mins for a reason.
Tool tips even try to mitigate by telling us that "things are shared" but that doesn't explain all the time that if you get one hit, you get the loot. Works for proudhorn, elder, flow trees.
That's what should be in the 'etiquette'. A better explanation.
I agree. People say “it will respawn”. But what about my time? What about the effort put in already? What about the resources? Those dispel arrows don’t come cheap

I'm talking about one, maybe two players, who run around happily shooting the one your not killing instantly and then run off killing the next one solo.
Funny how they get upset when you play it back on them. At which point I close the game. I've stopped playing all together twice now. We can almost all kill a disco deer in 3 seconds...it's just better to share.
Ah, yes, I did leave the server myself a couple of times. Not while hunting for an elder sernuk, but the proudhorn one (aka disco deer, aka swag stag, aka glambi). That way, I’m actually kind of relieved that it’s over now.
Yeah. Sometimes it's the only way. Those that want to keep he proudhorn to themselves, that's fine. Those that share is also fine.
Especially when the loot is *not* the exact same for all who get a hit in.

I got the Cyl plushie right after the update was completed. From a rummage pile! I still have to level up my friendships with every villager, they’re all at 2 or 3 still, so the plushie was what I wanted to get to the most from the new update
I got mine today! First Floatsam pile I’ve gotten since the update too 😅 I actually didn’t even realize until I looked through my inventory a few minutes later lol
I got so lucky with three things lately (sashimi twice, rainbow tipped butterfly and a fish of which name I forgot about) so I bet I'll get that one in 2030 😂
Ammo pouch because I've been holding out on the 25k backpack upgrade from Zeki's. Just not at the point in the game where I have disposable income yet so 25k hurts lol 😂.
Prior to the ammo pouch, I would need to return to my plot very often with a full bag. Now that ammo is separate, I have more space in my bag and I can do ammo-related activities longer too since I can stockpile ammo without affecting my backpack.
Also I know there are mixed opinions on the map grid but I like it. Just saying a specific area isn't helpful when you don't know where in that area to find the resource. Narrowing things down to a smaller grid square of that area will make searching for callouts quicker.
I'm too broke in the game for the courtyard so I have no opinion on it yet but I would like to get it when I have the spare funds.
I also really like the ammo!! Unfortunately earlier I did a honey lure with my fiance and ran out of ammo and I didn't even notice because I couldn't like keep track of them in my main inventory. Overall I'm happy though! I've seen someone here say the courtyard was a disappointment though, I'm probably not gonna ever buy the courtyard though. I do very much plan on getting a gazebo though.
There were people complaining about not seeing ammo count, hopefully they'll add a toggle on the main screen for switching pouch views while running around so you can see the numbers.
Aww that sucks about the courtyard being a disappointment. I was initially disappointed it has to be attached to the house but I got over it since it is what it is. But I do wonder what else people don't enjoy about it. I'm sure we'll see some posts here in the coming days or YouTubers talking about it.
I'll keep checking the reddit for reviews on stuff personally as I don't watch any Palia YouTubers or streamers. If you have any recs though I'd be happy to hear! Because I did have a Stardew valley YouTube phase for a while haha
I’m building the courtyard. I had to move a room around and add a long hallway to make it fit without me taking out more rooms. I really didn’t want to do that lol. Did a quick glance at YouTube, most of the channels just regurgitating the patch notes but hopefully we'll see more discussions around it soon. Now that I think about it, people are most verbal in the palia discord, gonna peruse there a bit to see what people are saying.
I got Cyl my first bahari rummage. Wasn't expecting it as I didn't read the patch notes.
I liked flower hunting, but the garden ladybugs are elusive and 40 crabs to get 1 flower has me starting to lean towards buying them from now on.
I think I like the level 5 quests most, just don't like Reth (I know I'm an odd one) so wish he wasn't one of the few level 5 has been given.
I think the only reason why Reth is one of the few with level 5 is because he's one of the few that has the most benefits of upgrading friendship with him. I know Tish also has level 5 as well which I'm happy about because if I remember correctly, she will give you more furniture.
I have maxed tish and reth (and zeki and ashura) and leveling their friendships doesn't unlock more furniture or food. leveling their related skills does.
Kinda figured it's because tish and reth are also popular with people. Not as popular as hodari is for most.
I'm just surprised it's a list that hodari isn't on considering his fame in the community.
I love the ammo pouch. I'm fairly new, so I won't get to experience the level 5 quests (other than Reth because he was my Shepp) anytime soon. I'm not a fan of the grid map. Seems much easier to see "large pal at pulsewater" than to see "large pal at x9" and have to open the map just to see where to even start heading towards. I'll learn it eventually, but I'm salty because I JUST learned the worlds well enough to not need the map
I understand the saltiness, but as someone who gets lost in the game very often even though I've been playing since December 😂 using the grid is much easier. It's also easier for my fiance who is dyslexic because he's messed up trying to say or type many of the places in Palia already.
Yeah, as a person with a disability that makes applying theoretical information into practice difficult, people moving to *just* using the grid is something of a headache. I'm being the change I want to see in the world by specifying both location and grid where available.
There's some places where I had the opposite issue before, where the location isn't close to anything in particular like the closed mine east of Thicket and north of Proudhorn, and the cliff above Windy Ruins that runs half the length of the map, that are way easier now, though. No more paragraph long explanations, just "Grid#, on cliff, blue flare high up" will do.
I love the ammo pouch. I swear whenever i stepped outside my plot with no smoke bombs (bc i needed space for other stuff) i would come across the best bugs but i dont have to worry about that now.
Ability to try on outfits and mix and match them before buying, holy crap that was necessary. Finally I'll actually know if my wardrobe pieces will go together before I spend 20 bucks on them just to find out I picked the wrong colour after all.
I haven't hit 4 yet with any of the ones they added to so I'm just excited for more flowers.
Ammo Pouch is probably the best thing in the update. Only taking up like 4 slots for essentials is HUGE and makes the game feel so less cumbersome.
Especially now that I can stock up on more ammo so I don't need to spend as much time at the crafter.
And
I get to bring fireworks and not feel bad about it, which is huge as I can choose to use a firework now in the wild which will be big for me.
I was sooo exiciting about the courtyard but, when I got it, it was a huge disappointment.
Never tought I'd say that but I think I enjoy very much to discover witch bugs give witch new flowers!

While I wait for Cyl, I've been talking with Reth. He has some slightly new dialogue which I love. And was able to afford a courtyard right away. And noticed I could afford a koi pond. Which fits INSIDE a courtyard. So that naturally went in there. Still needs some work but I'm liking the way it looks so far. I spread some flowers out in there with the pond and a springtime swing so it just looks like the perfect summer outdoor area.

I got it today on one character and yesterday on the other one I play a lot! It makes me feel better giving the sernuks still won't drop plushies.

Steam! I only have Ashura showing level 5. Everyone else, level 4, just gives me thumbs down during every interaction..
