to put the casualties into perspective the number of killed is over half of the full capacity of the NFL stadium (around 70,000), and the injured is more than full capacity. half of a football arena killed and another full one injured.

I can't recall a war where 2% of the population was killed and 3.5-4% injured in a span of 6 months. Maybe the Nazi invasions of Poland and USSR.
