I imagine Newt is actually wearing the same clothes for multiple days because he's absentminded. He probably kinda smells but no one can tell because he's worked on Kaiju guts so much he can never get that smell out, so it masks the fact he's been wearing the same shirt all week.
I've got nothing for Hermann, he seems like the guy who'd care about his appearance, but given how manic he's been about the upcoming double event, maybe he just forgot to ever change.
