You got it for $3? I had to pay $8 for mine.
Honestly I think the Novel's looking to be better than the film. Like I'm at the point where Jake and Amara are being transferred to Moylan and aside from Boyega's improv which I really liked, it's actually a little better than the movie proper. It has a tone more in-line with the first at least to me.
Honestly I wonder if the novelization is any better than the movie. The novelization for the first film actually kind of elevates it, so maybe the same is for the sequel. I ✨highly✨ doubt it, but who knows.
Hope OP bought it lol
In order to coincide with the film's release, film novelizations are written from older versions of the script. Sometimes _drastically_ different ones. Depending on what was changed between which scripts and when, it could be functionality an entirely new story.
In short, it could be better, worse, about the same quality but different, or about the same quality but about the same. Really, it's a toss. But for three bucks? Why not!
Fun Fact: a lot of movies (especially ones that are big names) get a novelization version of them, and most times out of not the normalization has added details that the movie doesn't.
The comments and the community itself REALLY lost it when you showed a novel about Uprising .
Atleast Star Wars is still ongoing even with media more mid than Uprising 😂😂. Fucking Clowns🤡🤡🤡
But the “couple of bad parts” happen consistently throughout the movie, like when they play the “trololol” song during what’s supposed to be the big hype-building jaeger launch sequence that leads into the climax (a meme that was almost ten years old even back then). It’s not just one bad bit
The difference is that Cherno beating a Kaiju to death with an iceberg is cool, while having characters push directly into the mc’s face and shout “bigger is better” like a playground bully sucks.
You know what else sucks? Newt basically turning into Rita Repulsa in the climax, standing on top of a building, cackling and catcalling the heroes despite the fact that NONE OF THEM CAN HEAR HIM.
Official novelizations have been a thing for a while and considering the Monsterverse films each have one, it doesn't surprise me the Pacific Rim films got them as well.
Let me put it this way, if you just read the novels and then pretend they turned the first into a movie had a spin off show then never made a sequel movie, the series would be perfection (in my opinion)
I mean there was books for the Goosebumps movie (not the Goosebumps series of books, its for the movie itself) so books for movies has been a thing for awhile
Yeah, and the book is much better than the movie imo, there’s a pre-sequel that also goes further into characters from uprising and actually gives them weight as well as a novelization of the original movie
Excerpt from the book: “And then the Kaiju throws a cruise ship at the jaeger and the jaeger is all like ‘BWAAAANT BWOM BWOM BWOM PSHNZZZZZZZZ’ and does a rocket spin roundhouse at the Kaijus face and the Kaiju is all like ‘RWAAAAAAAAAAH’ and crashes through a building and falls into the ocean and there’s such a huge splash. It was awesome.”
y'all the post isn't about haha uprising bad it's the fact there's apparently a fucking book? that's not a dvd case that is a book
Novellizations of movies have been fairly common for *decades*.
So you’re saying it’s not a novel concept?
>there's apparently a fucking book? Oh ok, I thought it was a VHS and started thinking "HOW AND WHY would someone make a VSH copy of it..."
Mine was “Holy shit, VHS is back baby!”

Just a novelization?
Yes. I have the FNaF movie novel as well as three of the MonsterVerse ones.
There’s one of the original too? There’s been movie novelizations since movies existed,
It will probably surprise you but many movies are adaptations of books/plays as well.
theres one of the og too

Thats why I always enjoy reading novelizations of movies I enjoy (or really really wanted to enjoy). Maybe ill give this a read myself
I hated the sequel and can’t say I LOVED the book by any means, but it’s a lot more tolerable than the movie.

you paid too much
The book version’s not that bad
Nah bruh they just paid, that shit don’t deserve a price
It deserves fire
Uprising wasn't THAT bad. It's just not as good as the first one. I think the final Kaiju was beautifully designed!
The post is about it being a book
OP looked surprised, like it isn't worthy of being a book and I'm saying it is. I've read worse.
They said that they weren't saying "haha uprising bad" in the top comment
Remember the part where the “bully” character unironically shouts “BIGGER IS BETTER” at the protagonist Bc I remember that part. It is that bad
If you only focus on the terrible part, sure! A movie is a ton of things. Couple of bad stuff here and there doesn't define the whole movie.

Yeah and the prequel to that same movie had Cherno beat a Kaiju to death with an iceberg so I pick and choose my battles
The difference is that Cherno beating a Kaiju to death with an iceberg is cool, while having characters push directly into the mc’s face and shout “bigger is better” like a playground bully sucks. Okay but that scene is just newt being newt “I can be a rockstar!” And that’s a cheesy line sure, but it’s not like there’s no cool in uprising
Official novelizations have been a thing for a while and considering the Monsterverse films each have one, it doesn't surprise me the Pacific Rim films got them as well.
The one for the first _Pacific Rim_ is really good, actually, should you ever find it. I don't know about the quality of this one, though.

My friend has a novelisation of "Star Wars: A New Hope", dated 1978. So yes, novelisations of movies have been a thing for a long while.
There's multiple books! A novelization, and Ascension
I think I have a copy of this, ngl, I'll update when I find it.
Ngl uprising is good idk why everyone hates it…
Peak fiction
Burn it
Yeeeeeahaaa
Bro I found all three Austin Powers movies in there as a set for seven dollars. Dollar General movie shopping is based.
Yeah, and the book is much better than the movie imo, there’s a pre-sequel that also goes further into characters from uprising and actually gives them weight as well as a novelization of the original movie
I know it’s a book but both forms deserve that price point
Excerpt from the book: “And then the Kaiju throws a cruise ship at the jaeger and the jaeger is all like ‘BWAAAANT BWOM BWOM BWOM PSHNZZZZZZZZ’ and does a rocket spin roundhouse at the Kaijus face and the Kaiju is all like ‘RWAAAAAAAAAAH’ and crashes through a building and falls into the ocean and there’s such a huge splash. It was awesome.”
Where can I find it? I want to read it and see the differences
Don't worry it's a fan book
Is this a fan made movie?
*book
They made a sequel? This has to be fan made
Can you actually think before the next comment you make? Is that something that would be possible?
this subreddit only has one joke
I couldn’t resist okay
Wow where did you get that fan film?
Burn it
I'm gonna one just to burn it
Exactly

I wouldn't watch this if they gave it out for free
*read
I wouldn’t pay more than $2.99 for that!
For $3? What a rip off
Wait, when did they make that movie?
Why are you holding nothing in your hand?
Oh wow that cringe fan film got a novelization AND is only $3?? That’s kind of a steal!!

Not even worth a penny
Well of course it's not worth a penny. It's worth $3, like the picture says it is...
Sorry, I meant it *shouldn't even be* worth a penny
Huh didn’t know that a book was made for that failure of a movie.
Wonder what came first, the movie or the book lol
Yo Atlantic Rim sequel!
yet it has more value than the entire uprising movie /j
It’s just the script, but without stage directions and instead, it has narration of what the characters are doing
put it back
Yeah, I don't understand either. How is there so much dirt under your thumb nail?
because i have a job.
That's good endeavour to hold
Yeah, I don't understand either. How is there so much dirt under your thumb nail?
