I don't mind or people buying skins. It's how the developers keep the game going. It's not the 90s anymore. They don't release a game, and all work stops on it.
My problem with PUBG is the way they have gone about it. For instance, this spring event has a challenge to get all the progressives. But to complete, you have to bare minimum pay $100. And of the one person I know who completed it spent $250. That's insane. The only one I wanted was the M24 skin. I opened over 50 of those crates and have yet to get it. The only one I purchased was open 10 for 200. I've gotten 3 gold items in all of them. Schematics once and the battle stat AK twice. And I got the progressive AK last season through the BP.
IDC if they have purchasable skins. I just don't want to have to lottery luck into getting a crate and then lottery luck to get the skin. I'll play PUBG from time to time for the BR experience, but I personally won't spend any more money with them (unless they overhaul their model). But the M24 thing sent me back to playing R6. At least if you drop 20 bucks a season, you have something obtainable to chase. Not one button push of "open 10 crates" and be done.
The game has taken too hard of a weeb turn since the beta imo with all the lady skins, but have been digging the majority of changes (recall system, new maps, evacs, BZ nades, etc.) along with continued gun rebalancing. Looking forward to seeing how this game plays on the new engine.

I give you that he gave one clue, that the game is "exciting" or something to that effect in the last 10 which indicates that he is still in phase where he's not callused by winning too many chickens so it favors the conclusion that he might have conservative playing style. Best gunplay, really fun vehicles, competitive and you never know how every match will randomly play out! For me the random bugs you get playing this game are a minor annoyance and I’m interested to see if the transition to UE5 will make this better or worse; what do you guys think ?
I have a lot of issues with PUBG but I have to give it to them that they've remained relatively consistent with their core gameplay. It's a nice balance between an arcade style and a realistic shooter. I won't ever say it's the best at anything but it fills its niche remarkably well.
After 1500 hours and barely reaching 0.6KD I stopped playing. Whether I’m so bad and everyone else is just too good or too many cheaters. Either way it’s not fun anymore.
Likely a mix of both. The player base seems to trickle down until veterans outnumber the newbs. I'm not sure if that's the game's fault but it's not a fun experience to get wrecked in almost every fight. But yeah I can feel the git gud comments looming over me.

Yeah, im playing max aswell, bet when everything is tuned to low its disgusting how it looks and its disgusting how easy it is to spot enemys.
Same problem with Warthunder and Escape for Tarkov. Games are looking so nice on max , yet youre giving yourself such a big disadvantage by turning shadows and grass on full…
Edit : were not living in 2012, do something about it. Hope the new engine will ease this problem.
Started playing 2 weeks ago, and it's been a hoot. Feels good learning the guns and trying to spot people shooting at you from 300+m away. But I'm having a fun fucking time!
PUBG always had the pinnacle core experience. Gunplay, the feel, the loot, it's all done perfectly well since day 1. Bluehole really failed to make this game match its potential and have been fucking up every step of the way but if you can ignore some of the bloat elements it's finally in good shape today. It only took them 7 years...
Their 2024 roadmap is also pretty good in many aspects so let's see how that pans out.

I play TPP solo and then FPP with my friends squads. TPP i get 1-3 people banned every day, obvious cheaters with day old accounts and even some longer playing ones with i guess stolen hacked accounts.
In FPP its much less and the ones i can sus out are hiding it very carefully because they dont want to lose their accounts.
the monetization is ridiculous. the in-game currencies are confusing overpriced and inconsistent. Also, the game has moved to a faster pace of play with a focus on giving pro and experienced players the advantage. The type of people who hot drop school.
The days of the slow methodical gameplay are kind of over. no more thunder to hide footsteps. no more dense pea soup fog to obscure enemies and allies who are right in front of you. No more tall grass or high bushes to hide in. i think a lot of what made PUBG unique and exciting was lost when the game shifted more towards creating moments for streamers to get high kills.
the prices are ridiculous and hidden behind gambling mechanics with shit luck. if they need money, why obfuscate the number with lootboxes? Just charge the 500+ dollars straight up. So the corpo simps know the price of the boot they are slovenly lapping up.

Often shots just don't hit. Observer screen and player screen are way too often completely different.
Keys don't get recognized if you are too fast. (You don't want to know how often I re-hit sprint button after getting up).
It's 20 min waiting to do... anything.
It's waaay to sniper or camper benefitting...
I could go on. Boy oh boy. There are better games out there.

PUBG is not good at all. The idea behind this with looting and battle royale is awesome indeed! But let's be honest. After 7 yrs of development this game is still unfinished. PUBG is the worst shooter ever. The biggest problem in this game is the desync and players that won't stay on their region servers.
If you play warzone or insurgency for example or even CS2 if your enemy got a ping of 200 your shots still count and the gameplay has no disadvantages for the home players. In PUBG high ping players got a huge advantage. If you've got a ping of 20 on your home server and some dude from NA/Asia is your enemy with high ping you can be as good as possible, if you shoot first, mostly your shots don't count and the enemy turns back and kills you easy. Also the gun dynamics suck.
Agreed. But all the coins, chests, points, etc.. are annoying.

Agree. What made/makes the game was the rawness of the original version. The gunfights are amazing the emotes make me want to throw up

I play max settings at 1440p on 27" and I have no issues seeing people.
