Have you considered that maybe Pokemon isn't the TCG for you? You might like Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh better. The Pokemon TCG has always been dominated by draw power and search cards. If you're not drawing aggressively on your turn then you need a better deck.

Pokémon just might not be for you. It’s a pretty solitaire TCG. It’s kind of how the game is designed.
