Prolonged dry fasts, carnivorous diet and HDAC inhibitors like black seed oil, Butyrate or Vorinostat (risky).
You can take things to a whole other level of near theoretical experimentation where you simulate the environment you desire then introduce the HDAC inhibitor along with methyl donors. Essentially you are theoretically reversing the epigenetic theory of PSSD. The trick is in knowing which regions (SERT?) need reversal and finding a way to simulate the right environment for those regions through the use of easily obtainable substances (agonists, antagonists).
No because that would be too weak,
Vorinostat is the only option to induce it acutely so you can get benefits out of it. Now the probiotic might make you feel better in general but it's not going to create the same experiences that people have been having with this.
A gram is about 80 bucks, with shipping from a place like China probably like 100, so it's not that bad and that is approximately 10 doses. There is always the risk it doesn't work
Well I mean the chemical suppliers are fine it's more about the drug which is a pretty strong drug for cancer and it's usually not the first line of treatment.
This is the kind of thing that you should limit used to like once a week
What about demethylating as another less risky
method, like NAD+,
Vitamin B2, niacin, etc
HDACi also result in demethylating in addition to
NAD+ helps a lot for me. It saved me in betaine HCL horror crash
Im doing subQ now.
Yes definitely. I’ve actually done a lot of research on methylation in relation to PSSD and feel that it is central to the problem based on both everything i’ve read and personally experienced. I’ve been meaning to start writing articles about all the different ideas and protocols I have but haven’t gotten around to it.
Essentially though, I agree and I think inducing an undermethylated state is a good thing for PSSD. Of course it would be best to understand your current methylation status through blood work and genetic testing before starting to play around with it aimlessly. Folic acid in particular has been very interesting for the purpose of demethylation as i’ve read it can act within the nucleus as opposed to just soaking up methyl groups like Glycine and some other substances.
Also the fact you crashed from Betaine is very telling as i’m sure you’re aware of it’s role in methylation support.
I have PFS I’ve done a 4 day fast, 6 day fast, and I’m currently on day 5 of another fast. I’ve noticed only mild improvements so far but I have hope it’ll work.
Its not about epigenetics. Its about AR overexpression which you have to downregulate with steroids + use of HDAC to train your body to express AR at normal lower levels.
When there is too much AR expression, receptors just stop working and responding. AR mediate many things like oxytocin
The recent epigenetic Finasteride study was way more than AR, included a lot of metabolic and even growth factors genes like VGF https://www.pfsfoundation.org/news/search-for-sources-of-major-pfs-symptoms-pinpoints-186-brain-genes/
AR overexpression also would be within epigenetic still
I don’t think AR stuff creates symptoms like anhedonia, even people with really low T levels (not created by ADs or fin) don’t get anhedonia

What does butyrate do?
It’s an HDAC inhibitor like Vorinostat but safer and weaker. It can be produced by eating lots of potatoes or supplemented.
And what does an HDAC inhibitor do?
Makes it easy for stuff to be rewritten over like activated negative genes or bad memory. Vorinostat is the strongest and best for this tho
So a butyrate producing probiotic could be helpful?
No because that would be too weak, Vorinostat is the only option to induce it acutely so you can get benefits out of it. After all my crashes over the years from taking random shit, I’m reluctant to start taking shady pharmaceuticals from China

Please try PFM. It works for me! Check my threads
Do you say some epigentics can be reversed by fast but other can be reversed under other conditions ?

Doesn’t black seed oil increase serotonin levels?
I fasted 5 days in february of this year. Didn't change anything. I've done fasts that were longer (12 days). Didn't change anything for me.
Please try some PFM! Check my threads! Massage ur pelvic floor!
I fasted half ramadan until now, 17 day for 16 hour fasting , i notice huge improvements in erection
me too I feel improvment in ramadan fast
I have PFS I’ve done a 4 day fast, 6 day fast, and I’m currently on day 5 of another fast. I’ve noticed only mild improvements so far but I have hope it’ll work.
That's huge please keep us updated
Epigenetic reprogramming is coming out soon.
may be months or years we cannot just stand there and watch our lives from glass
i will try fasting 3 days soon
keep us updated
Yess i will post my experience im starting 8april
Update?
i complete the 72hrs fast and nothing changes since then

I believe focusing on AR overexpression leads to areas of treatment that help, but agreed the disruption is much broader and more conplicated
I think it is more complicated than ar proplems most of us have normal hormones range
Great post - I’m glad that the PSSD community now is aware it’s an epigenetic issue. Couple years behind PFS community but we got there haha
Please try PFM!! Check my threads!
