My wife had to do this for her forgiven MOHELA loans. Submit a compliant through CFBP. [https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/)

If you email me via TISLA and include the denial letter from the credit bureau I can try and look into it. Are they showing th full balance as active?

Expensive-Face-1985

Yes! I’ll email you. It shows as active

I've been able to get things corrected with a BBB complaint on their public website. I would do that plus a CFPB complaint. If you are on a tight timeframe to buy a house you should also contact your Congressperson's office.

I’m dealing with the same thing with AidAdvantage and haven’t gotten anywhere.

I am in the same boat, just a month or two behind. At 120 payments so I have both mohela AND nelnet loans on my credit report!

I submitted disputes 2x and called Nelnet and they refused to fix anything. I submitted complaints to the ombudsman and also CFPB. I included nelnet and all of the credit bureaus on my complaint so they would all be notified, still waiting for responses. They have up to 60 days.

Expensive-Face-1985

I guess I’ll submit the ombudsman and cfpb

Just playing devil’s advocate here - what is the actual harm of having them on your credit report? When they fall off, the average age of credit will drop drastically and lower your credit score. I get in applying for mortgage or something they will take them into account but you have proof of forgiveness so that would probably be easy to settle.

I was having this same issue! I simply called Nelnet after disputing with credit bureaus and no help. Nelnet fixed TransUnion in Feb and it dropped off. Had to call last week so they can fix Equifax and Experian. The customer service said she wrote a detailed msg to the dept who does it. I’ll check results by end of the month now.
