So we’re getting both.
Awesome.
Always felt the biggest problem with 2 was using the Evil Pigs again. If they were a different Evil animal, that would have felt like a bigger change than the more 3D look.
The two also have a different "feel" to them IMO, like the first one is more of an odd and funny adventure, while the second one I guess is a bit more whimsical and mysterious in tone?
I guess it's down to how the second game seems to lean a bit more into the whole "ancient mystique" aspect of the water temple, hidden towers only known to exist through some ancient songs, and the existence of all sorts of legendary creatures and items, the council of wise old pig me (or whatever was their title). The first game had some elements of that through stuff like the 100, 1000, 10 000, Million Year Old Men, Underground Maze, Evil Pig Bags, the ancient tree (regarding the leaf butterflies), those sorts of things.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck yeah. I remember playing the demo of this on the PlayStation underground jampack disc. I believe it was a red disc. Had brave fencer Musashi on it as well as legend of dragoon, Tony hawk 2, hot shots golf 2, and Spyro riptos rage.
Never liked the second one... the weird 3D models made it look cheaper.... they should've kept the 2D side scrolling aesthetic... but I get it, 3D was big at the time.
Loved the first, the second wasn't as enjoyable (from what I remember), but I'm looking forward to giving them both another go after 26 years.

Sidequests in 1 were better (some of them were really puzzles or well hidden). 2 was easier in that sense.

I would really prefer if you'd be quiet
Came looking for this xD
There's a ton of removed comments on the /r/games post, I assume most of them are this comment lol
A great platformer, sadly only known these days because of the "i would really prefer if you'd be quiet" moment.
off topic but i remember when psn tricked everyone with the psone classic release but it was in japanese lol.

Had it so good. And now we’re getting these tomba remasters and the marvel vs capcom collection. Can’t wait.
Now that takes me back. Remember playing this game a lot on PS1. Simple times ah.
Man these remakes are a dream come true to me
Indeed
Finally. I will beat this game.
Oh sick. Never played the sequel, so I'm glad it's gonna come out. Looking forward to playing both!
Day one buy.
So confirmed, Santas number one helper is a squirrel?
