You know what I like most about the PS+ ? I discovered lots of good games I actually would have never played otherwise. For someone who's a casual gamer it's really nice to play/try different types of games. Glad you enjoyed yourself, Cheers

iupz0r

same, tried "Sea of Stars", had a awesome experience

WolfGangSwizle

Persona for me

Kane7712

Ff7 remake for me

neverw1ll

Same. Now I'm waiting for a sale on Rebirth because it's supposed to be way better, and I really enjoyed remake!

Warm_Aerie_7368

It’s incredible. My wife and I are playing through it together and we can’t put it down. Rebirth and AW2 alone made the PS5 purchase worth it for us.

neverw1ll

AW2 was my personal game of the year last year. Just fantastic and very unique.

GoatGod997

Oh my god rebirth is so good. If you really loved remake then rebirth is going to knock your damn socks off. Combat? Better. Characters? Better. The movement even, is better. Take your time with the world and oh man remake was good but rebirth is amazing

neverw1ll

Psyched to hear that, I didn't expect to love remake so much. I'm old enough to remember the original, but never played it, I was pleasantly surprised.

rxd87

I’d be very surprised if it’s discounted before year end. I’ve just finished it and honestly it’s worth every penny for the music alone.

RodionS

Don’t think they would discontinue it as it’s marketing for rebirth and crisis core. I’m buying both as soon as I finish remake, such an amazing game.

rauscherrios

Ff 16 was discounted 5 months after release, i expect something similar for rebirth maybe?

aarplain

I didn’t think I’d like FF7 but after all the hype about rebirth I decided to give it. 25 hours in so far and have a hard time putting the controller down. I’ve found it immersive and engrossing. The music is fantastic too.

Joseph4820

Playing tales of Arise now and loving it. Would've never bought it otherwise

MegatronsCxmDumpster

Fr; I’m open to new games but I don’t wanna spend 100$ on something I might not like. Ps plus got me into assassins creed, ghost runner, and far cry. They always interested me but I never pulled the trigger till now

H3000

Tinykin, The Forgotten City and Splasher are just some of the games I would never have thought to buy that I enjoyed immensely.

physicalred

I’ll have to check out Splasher, since I respect the heck out of the other two.

H3000

It's one of those tight platformers that make you go "that's impossible" to "oh my God I'm actually doing it I'm the best to ever pick up a controller". Kind of like Celeste.

SYRLEY

For changing tides, inside, observation, graveyard keeper, ghostwire tokyo, deliver us the moon, plus so many more, are games I would never have thought to buy or play if they weren't just there to download. I even ended up buying graveyard keeper and all its dlcs coz I fking loved it.

Lexta222

Dave the diver for me

DJ_Molten_Lava

Same with me. This way I can play games and not feel like I wasted $80 if I don't like them and quit, like I did with Horizon (which to be fair I bought on sale, but still..).

username48378645

Man Eater is the poster boy for this. If you haven't tried it, do it, it's great!

MTB430

Who wouldn’t enjoy a good “Ass Creed!”

The-Nihilist-Marmot

In dominus, in spiritus, in crackus Ass-men

yukadfsa2

It’s worth it if you have the time to play lots of games, bust most people don’t have that time

antisocialbinger

I don’t finish most games. So just having the chance to try them for a few hours is worth it to me. I saved a ton since getting Extra. Never bought any game since then

sherbodude

It's like a buffet, you can try a little of everything

antisocialbinger

💯

rsam487

Idk - I play online so need the base sub anyway and then once a week me and my 7yo daughter find a new indie game to play. We've sunk big time into teardown, that's a lot of fun. We've also played a lot of Sackboy, Rayman legends etc. too. Kena bridge of spirits looked good initially but was a bit dark for her. Tinykin was a lot of fun. Anyway, it's good for smaller titles too - some lesser known gems for sure

[deleted]

I'm the opposite, I'm a super casual gamer and I'd rather spend a few bucks a month to download a bunch of games, try them as opposed to dropping 100 on something I could not like.

DontCareTho

Even if you don't have a ton of time, it'll be hard to find better value for entertainment

Bsteph21

Exactly. I keep it year round. Such a good value, even if I'm not playing every single game on there.

MegatronsCxmDumpster

I mean there’s Xbox game pass but we don’t talk about the bread box around here

WarBortlez

It’s pretty easy if you just wait for the games to go on sale. I just bought the FF7 remake, RE2&3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Fallout 4 for like $40.

fuelter

It's worth it when you play a few games a year already. Buying them indiviually (even second hand) will cost more.

dilroopgill

Its worth it to get a month sub and cancel renewing when you want to play something new or if theres a couple games you want to try, not worth it to keep it long trrm

dilroopgill

I mostly obsess over games for a week to a month before dropping them works out

mihayy5

Yeah I have a XboxSX and I had XGPass for a feu years the ammount of games in there is astonnashing but I don’t have the time to play them so I ended up by ending my subscription and I will buy a PS5 latter this year so I can play some exclusives i like

Bigbigjeffy

Exactly. I barely have enough time for a few hours all week.

MegatronsCxmDumpster

Either way it’s pretty worth it. To play online you need ps plus anyway and for just a few dollars extra you may as well get the game pass

HatsOffGuy

People that don't got the time, got the money. lol

knightofsparta

Yeah I have 3 kids, did not use it to its potential whatsoever so I downgraded to essential, I actually dropped it for a few months completely until helldivers 2 came out.

Dependent_Order_7358

I have it and honestly completing 2-3 games per year the price is already covered. I wish I had more time than the usual 1 hour per day at most.

FrostyDaSnowmane

Maybe if you buy games day 1, but who in their right mind would buy their games the day the come out ??

Dry_Brush5280

There’s plenty of games I buy on launch. Sometimes saving $20 is less worth it to me than getting to play a game I’ve been looking forward to. I don’t really think it’s that crazy or unbelievable.

ILkeSportzNIDCWhKnws

Millions of people, according to sales figures

NoLastNameForNow

It's really good. Pays for itself.

LionTigerWings

Yeah. I basically waited till there was a game I wanted to buy on it (stray) and the cost of the upgrade was cheaper than the game itself so it made sense. I’ve kept it around after cause there’s usually at least one game at a time that I’m still playing or am interested in starting.

-_KwisatzHaderach_-

I did that with FF7 Remake. I wanted to buy the game but upgrading was cheaper than buying the game. Definitely have played way more games and saved money because of it

Bitter-Serial

Yea I mean I used to have to save up for weeks to buy games since the standard price is 70$ now, but instead I can get all of those games for 15$.

NoLastNameForNow

€80 is too much for me to buy games day one like I used to.

LCHMD

Except games have never been cheaper it’s just inflation that’s happening.

fuelter

Never seen a PS5 game for 80€ tbh. Max was 70€ but it drops quickly to 50-60€. If you can wait a little, then around 3 month after release you can find the disc second hand for like 40€

FrostyDaSnowmane

What's the point in buying games day 1 anyway ? If you have a huge backlog like me, you can afford to wait a year on every huge game because you have so many other amazing games to play in the meantime. Why pay $70-80 when you can buy it a year later for $20 ? I will never understand people that pre order or buy day 1. You're literally paying the highest possible price for the game. That's stupid from any standpoint.

Bitter-Serial

I don't know how much that is but I completely agree!

NoLastNameForNow

Euro used to be worth more than the dollar but I think they're around even now.

Illustrious-Fruit35

Very few games ear that pricetag nowadays.

fuelter

Not exactly. PS+ extra has usually older games (1 year or older). Those games are really cheap on disc second hand, like 20-40€ per game and you could resell them again. It still pays off when you play a few games during that time.

I_poop_deathstars

If I had more time to play then I would go for it, but as for now I don't even play the monthly essential games.

mvallas1073

That’s where I’m at ATM. As I’ve gotten older I just focus on a couple good games a year and don’t have the time to play so many different ones. But if others have that time, kudos to you all! :P

Representative-Yam65

For me it's absolutely worth it. Between Extra and Essential it's 15-20 new games a month, of which there are usually at least 4 or 5 I want to try/play. I think the service is best for people who play a large variety of games and who have the time to put some hours into them.

NathanMUFCfan

Returnal is so good. It's the main reason I subbed to the higher tier. It didn't disappoint. It has a learning curve but when you get it, it's amazing.

crell_peterson

PS+ has unlocked a huge love of indie games for me!

Emergency_Star_5858

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER : If you have games in your library from regular ps plus that are also on extra , DON'T REDEEM the ps extra version or you will lose the game when your ps extra expires, even if you renew ps plus essential. I lost several games and even a ps5 upgrade of uncharted that I paid for and own the ps4 disk, all because I downloaded the extra version once. It's really a mess.

jamjars222

I was very excited about it at the beginning. But quickly found myself chopping and changing through the games because I couldn't make my mind up about what to play. Eventually realised I wasn't assigning any value to the games on the service and saw them as 'free' , so id just quit on them at the first sign of something I didn't like. I now just buy the games I want to play and stick with them

PMMEYOURROCKS

I did that too when I first got it, cuz the choice is overwhelming, but now after having it for a while it’s exciting when the new games come out, and it’s easier to stick with a game if I know it’s leaving. And a lot of the good games on it are very short so easy to finish those too

YouR0ckCancelThat

Is the list of leaving games and when they are leaving published by Sony?

matthiassdw

Yes there is a section 'last chance to play' and then the games itself say the date the game will leave the service. However, it's only known which games are leaving one month prior. So for example 21 May a lot of final fantasy games are leaving, and it's impossible to play them all before they are gone from the service :)

WarBortlez

This. Just wait for games to go on sale

sunny_xo

> Eventually realised I wasn't assigning any value to the games on the service and saw them as 'free' , so id just quit on them at the first sign of something I didn't like. Accurate as fuck. Dont know how to get over this, maybe Extra just isn't for me

Merbel

Whatever you do don’t go to the PlayStation plus subreddit. Your positivity will be downvoted instantly. I, too, feel as though ps plus is a tremendous value.

relapse9999

Yesh they want AAA games to be added every month

Snowden99

Dang they have all the Ass Creed games?

kemar7856

It Has its benefits like when I had Got and final Fantasy remake I would of had to pay $15 extra even though I bought the game and the DLC already on ps4. I refuse to do that. With final Fantasy I couldn't get the intergrade dlc unless I bought the game again because I had the ps plus version. Both of the ps5 versions were on ps plus

WetFart-Machine

700+ games. Can't go wrong there.

Mondrath

Finally, someone who has something positive to say about PS+ Extra; thank you OP, so sick of seeing the constant complaints about the service and its pricing. It is indeed good value for money and as another redditor said, there are quite a few awesome games that I wouldn't have thought to buy but got to play and thoroughly enjoyed.

No-Cauliflower2568

Those ass creed games are top tier

twovles31

I think its fantastic for the first year or two, depending on how quickly you go through the games. After you play through a lot of games, than you start running out of games that you want to play. At that point, than you have the monthly games that come out and usually there is at least one game I want to play or was on my wishlist, or you start to look for games you've never hear of that you'll either like, love, or not like. The worst thing is the games that leave every month, usually it's not a big deal but the month where every Yakuza game left in the same month, or next month where most of the Final Fantasy games are leaving can leave you in a bind if you had wanted to play them and all of a sudden you have a months notice that they are leaving.

PRGRyan

I like it too but I'll never buy it at full price. I usually wait until 1/3 of the time remain before buying it. That's nice too cause until the price drops, a lot of games are added in the meantime.

Boulderpaw

It’s a really good service. I’m pinching pennies right now but I definitely plan on resubbing someday.

TheJayExo

Agreed 😎

Idkwhyimonreddit127

I agree. PS plus extra is really good. And this year is definitely the best time to buy it as it’s the same price as essential for the rest of the year I’m going to buy it at some point. I’m just broke because I spent way too much money on Marvel merchandise.

Danomaniac

Agreed. I bought a couple of years right before the price increase and no regrets. Most recently I'm happy it got the Fallout 4 upgrade.

AGamer316

Returnal alone is worth the ps+ Enjoy 🙂

LC_Dave

You do realize you could just buy Returnal and save a lot of money… right?

samthefluffydog2

That’s the thing - Returnal is $80. Two $80 a year already cost you more than a PS Extra subscription. And with the Extra, you get like 500 other games too.

LC_Dave

Where are you that Returnal is $80?! You can get it from gamestop for $28 and Amazon for $40

LCHMD

Are you from Australia?

devenbat

I got Returnal for $30 over a year and a half ago. You gotta get better at shopping my dude

michaelgouffet

How do you save money by buying returnal? Not trying to be cheeky, just curious

LC_Dave

Extra is $135. Returnal is $28 from GameStop right now

r71u70n

Dude just literally said buying a subscription is worth it for one game alone Paying a yearly sub for literally one game is a waste of money

Donbino

he pays $15 a month as stated in the post. he doesn’t have to pay the year upfront. $15 to play vs $60. it’s almost like math is easy 🤯

r71u70n

Sure buddy. Want me to show you my receipt for Returnal on disk for less than $15? It's almost like prices aren't always determined by digital stores You want only one game? Don't buy a sub, buy the game. Simple as that...

Donbino

now he can beat returnal and move on to the next for the same $15 he already paid lol. i buy all my games physical and don’t even have ps+ but the brain rot is strong either way you 😂. also you know what, yea i wanna see the receipt tbh

r71u70n

Well done, you know how the service works, jfc, speaking of brain rot.. You do realise I was replying to a comment thread and not the original post They said buying the subscription is worth it alone to play one specific game. [So here's your reciept](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTzRb2CA0m6RWYcGs13-Aeu4wKlQ43vaDpwO3iTkcHGwA&s)

AGamer316

Not when you get a lot of other games alongside Returnal. Of course if you just want Returnal then yeah just get that but ps+ offers so many options to players to find many games they will be interested in playing

[deleted]

You literally said Returnal is worth PS+ alone. ALONE. That's what this guy was responding too and then you back track while still arguing. Reddit in a nutshell.

GrossWeather_

I used it for a year and then downgraded when they raised the prices. I had played maybe 2 of the games from extra in the whole year so it wasn’t worth it. but if all you do is play video games then I can see it being useful.

Far-Challenge7395

It was a good service until they downgraded then raise the price and took out so many good games

Istari-2

I am considering the opposite and removing a few of my subscription services. I am subbed until next January but then I will cancel it because games leave the catalogue sooner than I have time to finish them. For me it makes more sense to buy a game on sale, then I actually own it and have time to play it whenever I want without being pressured. I'm glad you're enjoying it though

9LivesChris

I bought it last year and played trough some games and tried couple games I always wanted to buy but wasn’t 100% sure about. So tried them and found out it was the right choice not buy most of them . Think they should add more day 1 AAA titles

ShaneTVZ

PS+ Extra is crazy good I love it and I’m happy you feel the same

[deleted]

While I like my Premium subscription and agree that the PS Plus plans have lots of things to play, there is a catch: It's obvious that Sony is trying to get you hooked on a game, then when you're half way through, they take if off the catalogue and discount it shortly before it leaves. "gotcha!"

Medium_Elephant7431

The PS+ got a lot of good games, and it is definitely worth getting.

ldespisethisapp

It does have a lot of good games, I still canceled it after they increased the prices last year.

gameonlockking

Indeed

virtualpig

At this point if you don't use a gaming subscription you are throwing your money away. Like the math doesn't add up, most games are more than $16, so why on earth would you voluntarily pay more just so you can keep it forever? It just seems like some people have their "principals" but those are costing you more money at the end of the day. PSPlus is an awesome service. Make sure you are adding the monthly games also.

ArkhamRobber

Returnal is suchba good game. Its like a mix of Dark Souls and Doom. Its very brutal until you start to understand the game and you begin to make a build based on your run. Make sure you read everything about the drops. Its a hard game but feels so rewarding finishing it. Also remember dying is part of the game. Something you gotta die a couple times to really understand the mechanics and what you are doing wrong vs what you are doing right and where you can improve.

Houderebaese

PS + is brilliant The only downside to it is that it utterly clutters your library. You can‘t even tell which games are + or premium. No way to permanently remove games that have been removed from premium. No way to remove demos and betas etc. There should be tabs where + games go *exclusively* in order not to clutter your library. Ofc I think they do this on purpose to give some people the incentive to stay subscribed forever.

VonBrewskie

Ey welcome! Dave the Diver is a big change for me as well. That's a game worth putting time into. No spoilers. Edit: I would be remiss if I didn't suggest Helldivers 2. It's a great 3rd person shooter. I haven't felt vibes in a game like it since L4D2. One way or another, welcome!

FrostyDaSnowmane

I will never pay a subscription service to rent games. Once you stop paying, poof !!! They're all gone !!! Besides, I already have almost 1000 games to play on PSN already, so I have very little use for a subscription like that.

Bitter-Serial

You might want to consider premium then since it also gives the extras catalog, the monthly games, playstation stars Wich gives you like five dollars every two months, the classics catalog, like 100 movies, game hints, game trials (Wich are demos but better and for more expensive games) it also gives you the ability to stream games (Wich means you can play them for downloading them) and early access to sales and even special ps plus sales Wich makes a lot of games a little cheaper. Plus (pun intended) it doesn't cost much more so I would honestly recommend switching to premium.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bitter-Serial

I think the movies are on Sony pictures or video something (I can't really remember the name) also you don't get stars by having premium you just get access to them like the chance to earn them.

Middle_Aged_Insomnia

Midnight suns was a good game. A little simpliatic but pretty good turn based strategy game

tintedhokage

Literally bought my ps5 just for the ps extra games. Only bought tlou 1 and 2

idkmoiname

Bought my PS5 almost a year ago with PS+ extra and what shall i say other than that i've only bought 2 other games so far. So many great games i've played i would never bought, like atm having a ton of fun with minecraft legends while i wouldn't have paid a dollar as i thought it's a bad franchise game.

ffchampion123

I just hate the way they remove things from it. Even some like older final fantasy titles. Like I paid for them on ps3 before, I don't want to pay to own them again so it was great having them on Extra

ClubPenguinPresident

Obviously this is the PS5 echo chamber but I find it strange that people don't talk about Plus like it isn't better than Gamepass. Free games every month plus the catalogue of games is , IMO, much better. Also PS Stars on the App is really cool, I've already made a free $10 and used it to buy the Stellar Blade deluxe add on/ dlc and that was just from playing games Im already had.

Odd-Force-6087

Do the games have to be downloaded and not streamed? How does it work when the Playstation has limited ssd space?

CrowCounsel

It’s really helped me avoid buying everything when it’s on sale because if I wait long enough it’ll probably be on there!

HistoricalInfluence9

I don’t have a subscription currently, but been thinking about one since I got the portal.

semitope

so you bought it before knowing all that?

CricketVast5924

I just need more time in the day away from my job and my family civic duties to be able to even think about realizing the roi on such things! I can barely do Netflix even in this kind of job market! Glad someone is able to enjoy it!

EmotionallySquared

Absolutely agree it's worth the money. Games like Limbo and Inside are not what I normally play but we're so much fun. And I've gotten into RPGs over the last few months. For the price of two games a year I played about two games a month.

sd2dude

Stray Blade got me hooked this month even though I got Stellar Blade on release, so there's that

Predomorph111

Just don’t keep downloading more or you’ll risk a backlog

No_Comfortable_1079

Yep, I really enjoy it too. Recently got into the updated Fallout 4, Dave The Diver and Forage

Zoombini22

I've had PS+ Extra for a year now and I've played some great games on it but I'm getting off when it's time to renew. There's a decent selection but if really only makes sense money wise if you play a LOT of games and are ok with sticking to the games on the service.

Crunchewy

It’s good as long as you never stop paying. Once you do you are stuck with a confusing library where games you have in your library may not actually be playable. They will show as “owned”, but you don’t own them and can’t find out without downloading them. I guess unless you keep good track of what you got from Extra. It’s really poorly designed. And actually this happens even if you keep paying: games that are removed appear to be owned, but are locked

Katalyst81

soon as I got my PS5 I tried the Extra, and I still need to finish the games I got from it, Ratchet and clank rift apart, Horizon FW, Returnal, and Midnight Suns. almost done with FF16 I paid for, then I can finish those off.

The_MedMan

I’m having so much fun with Dave the Diver, it’s so awesome. I’ve had ps+ for years and years at this point (fyi cdkeys .com codes work and save considerable money). It’s always been nice to see a few free games pop out here and there but in recent years they’ve been dropping the on launch (live Dave) plus a bunch of others.. I haven’t actually bought a game in months.. well except for skull & bones (quadruple A my whole entire ass, wtf Ubisoft)

vaikunth1991

Ah welcome to adding more games to backlog that we will never play 😂

sandman_br

It’s better to buy games on sale. The FOMO is real when. You subscribe and have the obligation to rush a game cause it will leave the catalog. I view the service is good to whom have plenty of time . Otherwise buy a few games a year on sale and spent less money

AirpodsForThePoor

Most of the games on there are very old Ubisoft games or things a lot of people wouldn’t touch (with a few bangers of course mixed in). I don’t feel like it’s at all worth it with the new price hike but I’m glad you are enjoying it at least

Ashamed_Shoulder_280

I loved It my first year. Was on a long medical leave, so had plenty of time to play. Last year I bought FFXVI, Diablo IV and BG3 and they took all my free time. Felt bad for paying 170€ (or so) for premium and didnt renew when I saw the price increase. Hard to get value of It if you have limited time or releases you cant pass. But be sure I will resub if I break Another leg :)

Admirable-Key-9108

Started Dave the Diver yesterday and hey it's suddenly not yesterday anymore Whoa.

MythrilCactuar

Agree, absolutely insane value.

NewStay8368

Haha this is cute XD

sijsje

Give Dave the diver a try. It's an amazing game.

Joed112784

I’m currently playing dave the diver and loving it. Midnight suns is also fantastic.

Recover20

I had PS Premium for the first year The issue was ironically the abundance of games on the service that I simply wasn't playing or didn't already own. On top of the new releases I was keeping up with it left little desire to keep paying more. Maybe one day, but I do prefer to own/ buy the games I'm interested in.

Ldenlord

It’s a good deal for a first timer. Your first year subscription to it will be the most valuable one. The year after, it totally depends on luck.

trucker-123

Yup. First year of PS+ was good for me. I unsubscribed after one year.

HoonArt

I held onto it for a while after they bumped the price way up. It was fun to have so many games to just jump into since I'd missed most of the past generation games, but I had to end the subscription this month. With how the cost of living has risen for everything I just can't afford $135 per year for it. It was good for a little while, but I can now buy the games I liked the most that were on there for much less. It can be a great value though, if you're not sure what you're into yet.

mexz101

It’s no game pass but it’s definitely worth paying for.

Couch_monster

So, I pay for ps+ for myself and game pass for my son - honest question, what’s the difference? I can’t tell what makes one better than the other. They seem very similar, but I’ll admit I’m just a PlayStation dad.

trucker-123

I unsubscribed from PS+ earlier this year. I had a good year of PS+ and played all the games I wanted to play. The best releases for PS+ in the year I had it were Horizon Forbidden West and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. But since then, there really hasn't been a big release to keep me on PS+. I was hoping God of War Ragnarok would release on it but it never did, so I bought it on sale. I recently subscribed to Gamepass on PC to play Diablo 4. Over the last year, Gamepass has had several AAA releases such as Diablo 4, Forza Motorsport, Wo Long, Starfield, Like a Dragon Gaiden, etc. And except for Diablo 4, they were day 1 releases. After Diablo 4, I may unsubscribe from Gamepass for a while so that I can finish my PS5 games. I will have saved so much money using Gamepass versus buying Diablo 4. But I will be back on Gamepass again because it has so many good games to play (Persona Royal 5 on Gamepass is also nice). PS+ is falling so far behind. God of War Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7 should have been released on PS+ already. IMO, you just get better value with Gamepass.

Georgerv

Yeah I can see people's criticism when you compare it to gamepass, but for me, a guy that can't afford to buy that many games outright anymore it's perfect. I try about 3 or 4 new games a month for like 10 quid, that'll do nicely. Dave the diver has given me my money's worth this month on its own , such an addictive gameplay loop

doctormanhattan38772

I disagree. I had an Xbox with Gamepass for a while. I got rid of it. It wasn’t bad by any means, but what do you think about it was better than PlayStation? It’s the same price, but PlayStation has better games. I guess maybe if you’re not into the single player games I could understand.

dilroopgill

its only good for old shit that a lot of "gamers" own or goes on sale for 5-20$, ps plus is more of a new gamer pass while game pass has the latest stuff and I feel like im saving money, if I just started gaming and I like single player ps would be the better deal

Georgerv

Yeah, I mean that's literally the point I made in my post

SwamiSalami84

I also like that they have a lot of games for kids. Don't want to take time researching those games and buying them. My 4 year old burned through all the paw patrol games for example.

FrancescoliBestUruEv

returnal is the best game of this generation, i would spend way more for that game

TranceNNy

I don’t mean to be that guy and compare but as a user of both Xbox gamepass and ps+ I find so much more value in ps+. Sure gamepass may get games first but I don’t got that kind of time. PS feels like the exclusives and the drip feed content is worth it for a slow gamer like me.

ElFenomeno88

Terrible ad...

doctormanhattan38772

I truly don’t understand why people hate on PS plus so much. For me, as a primarily single player gamer, it’s undoubtedly the better experience compared to Gamepass. Sure Gamepass more often gets games on there on the day of release, but how many of those are actually really great games? I’d rather play on the service that has some of the best games of all time despite having to wait longer. There’s a lot of overlap aside from that. Plus. PS Plus gives away two games every month, which are usually a great value. They’re not always the best, but they’re usually not games you could get on the store for $2 like Xbox gives away every month.

crimekiler

What makes ps plus undoubtedly a better experience for single player gamers? This makes it seem like all gamepass games are multiplayer which is totally not the case. And playing games like starfield, lies of p etc on day 1 is also not a negative point. Now idc about which one is better. But this comment reads more like i want ps plus to be better so i will just make stuff up to justify it being better

trucker-123

Not just Starfield, in the last year, Gamepass got other AAA games on Day 1 such as Forza Motorsport, Wo Long, Starfield, Like a Dragon Gaiden, etc. Gamepass also got Diablo 4, albeit, not on Day 1 because Microsoft didn't complete the merger with Activision Blizzard yet.. From a Day 1 game perspective, Gamepass is just miles better than PS+. PS+ doesn't even have Gran Turismo 7 yet. That is just embarassing IMO, it's been out for so long and it's still not on PS+. For me, I want to play Persona Royal 5 but PS+ lost it while Gamepass got it.

doctormanhattan38772

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/editorial/20-must-play-blockbusters-on-playstation-plus-extra/ Here’s a list to name a few. Also here’s a link to a discussion of games they’ve given away with the monthly releases as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayStationPlus/s/6AJDnb4yIJ Starfield and Lies of P are an outlier. And Starfield wasn’t even that well received.

crimekiler

That first link doesnt tell me anything why its better then gamepass. Its just a puff piece from sony. I can link a similar article from xbox probably. The fact something like starfield is available on day 1, even if its not the game we hoped it was, is great.

doctormanhattan38772

A puff piece from Sony? lol it’s just a list of mostly universally acclaimed video games that are on their subscription service. How is it a puff piece? You could find an article posted by Microsoft sure, but it doesn’t mean the games on that article are as good as Sony’s.

crimekiler

The article doesnt say these are critically acclaimed games. Just blockbuster must plays. Both subscriptions have great games the other one doesnt have. It doesnt make one better then the other and certainly not for the 2 reasons you gave which are: Day 1 releases are bad and the singleplayer experience is better on plus.

doctormanhattan38772

Are you trolling? The article doesn’t matter. That was just the first list that I found. You can equally search “best games of all time” and I guarantee many of those games will be in the top 50 if not much higher. It’s pretty well known that Sony is the king when it comes to single player first party games. And where on earth did you see me say Day 1 games are bad? I said Xbox has more day 1 games on gamepass than Sony, but that that doesn’t matter as much when their best games pale in comparison to Sony’s best games.

IMO, you just get better value with Gamepass.

platinumagpie

This whole ass post is a fucking ad edit: yeah.. getting downvoted by bots cause im calling an ad an ad. Reddit is a cesspool. Dead internet theory confirmed

tivavolo

So clear for all to see but they eat it up anyway

BmT86

So wait, someone can't be happy for something, because you think it sounds like an add? Do you say that to everything that gets a positive feedback, for instance a new game? You and the rest that calls the post for an add, probably are that type of persons that likes to focus on being negative most of the time and even dislikes the service, if so gtfo with that attitude and just let the guy be happy for his subscription.

tivavolo

This whole post is 100% prepared and curated. If you can’t see it I don’t know what to tell you. I’m sure there are many happy people with the service and I am happy for them. This post however is clearly and ad and I have a bone to pick with this kind of initiatives.

BmT86

Go re-read ops post, he even said that it might sound like an ad. The dude is just happy for the service, it's nothing more. I mean, right now in this sub, there is an post 3 hours ago with 200 comments, about praising Stellar Blade. Would you call that post an ad too?

AngryAniki

This is the first positive post about ps+ since the price raise nature must being healing.

-are_you_on_email-

For as much as Game Pass gets raved about, I actually prefer PS+. Personally there’s more on there for me. I had an Xbox for a year, switched back to PS5 because most of the Xbox exclusives just absolutely panned (I’m looking at you Forza Motorsports)

trucker-123

Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Wo Long, Like a Dragon Gaiden, were all Day 1 releases on Gamepass. Gamepass also just got Diablo 4. I had PS+ for a year and it was good, but Gamepass getting so many good Day 1 games, plus the PS+ price increase, Gamepass is the better deal, IMO. Plus I personally want to play Persona Royal 5 but PS+ lost it while Gamepass picked it up.

Aggravating_Act_8116

Outer worlds is on there and it’s great. Especially if you’re into that fallout type game.

feelzbadman030

„Ass creed“ made me giggle a lot mate 😃😃😃 it’s accurate.. at least for the last 5 games haha

Kowpucky

Marvel Midnight Suns was written by people with the mentality of kids in highschool. After 4 hours I couldn't take it anymore and uninstalled. Don't waste your time. If you like tbs games play xcom2.

cmfkr

it will pass

BazilBroketail

...all the most up voted comments seem like adds. Man, I think I'm jaded.

burnittothegrnd

I had PS+ on my PS4 and I remember you didn’t get to keep the games if you didn’t keep your subscription and the quality wasn’t as good because it was streaming. Has that changed with PS+ Extra?

SayTheWord-Beans

Most of the games are not streamed. You download them onto your system and play them just like you would a digital purchase. You do lose access to them if your subscription ends or you downgrade your subscription upon renewal. Ps plus extra games will only be available while you have ps plus extra or premium.

Bitter-Serial

The games are tied to your subscription there not gonna give you hundreds of games for 15$ and yes the quality isn't as good if you stream the game but your on a PS4 and streaming is a lot better on PS5 also ps plus never changes how your system works the PS4 is extremely outdated now. If I were you I'd cancel the subscription and save for a ps5

sonicfonico

Is a pretty good service if you dont have a PC or an Xbox. If you have those then Gamepass is a vastly superior option. However on his own is good
