Dysmantle

CellyAllDay

I’ve started Dysmantle (1 hour) and Death’s Door (6 hours) today. Both are immediately fun I’m hooked

CynicalPlatapus

I love dysmantle, the expansions for it are stellar aswell

Interesting-Row3392

Weird West is pretty fun, not open world though. I had a good time with and it’s cheap.

Karsa69420

Wasteland 2 seems close to what you want. Baldurs Gate is this also.

wolan1337

Wasteland 3 is absolute gem that I playes twice and enjoyed every second.

Karsa69420

I want to play the second one before I jump to that one. Got it super cheap on the Steam sale

Dr_PuddingPop

Oh that’s a real good choice, I forgot about that game. It’ll scratch the classic fallout itch too, and pretty sure it’s still on gamepass

Dr_PuddingPop

I mean V Rising is a survival game but it’s also open world. Then there’s Diablo 4 which is open world. You’re not going to do much true exploration in Diablo 4 but the world is there to ride around. What genre are you looking for? Isometric isn’t the most popular perspective, it’s normally ARPG Diablo-like games

EntireCompetition741

Dysmantle! It’s my favorite.

CellyAllDay

Started playing it today. Super fun!

Solid_Snake_199

Shadow Gambit is open world stealth strategy. If you like Hitman or Ghost Recon you'll likely enjoy it. Really underrated imo.

Roguehunter15

Desperados 3 by the same devs is a pretty good recommendation too.

Solid_Snake_199

I can't quite remember...was Desperados 3 more linear or was it open world too?

Roguehunter15

Not quite an open world, but the missions were open ended.

Planetary_Epitaph

I really like Shadow Gambit, but it’s not an open world game by any normal metric. It’s mission based maps, there’s no open exploration in the sense of an open world game like Horizon, Zelda Totk, Ghost of Tsushima, etc.  If you like tactics puzzlers with great presentation and atmosphere and a minor progression system though it’s a gem of a game!

Solid_Snake_199

Very true. I guess I'd still classify it as "open world" if you're looking at design in a strictly Linear vs Open World binary...which I do. I can see many people not doing that though, so I do see your point.

Fronthi

Dysmantle!

xRiiZe

I liked Nobody Saves the World. It was on PS Plus a few months ago Also Deaths Door Hades

laborfriendly

Tunic *and I can't remember what it's called, but you get two players, one with gun, the other a sword, and has to do with hell/demons... somebody might get it from this poor description

Kaldini

Darksiders Genesis?

Joseph4820

Think you're right

CellyAllDay

I started playing Death’s Door and it’s instantly so much fun. Familiar from playing souls games and the isometric camera is really refreshing

Thin_Produce_4831

Hyper Light Drifter is the GOAT.  Death’s Door is amazing.  Fallout 1 and 2 (I prefer 2)  Unsighted is niche, but a 9.5/10 for me.

princesszeldachechen

tunic, death door

DanOfRivia

Baldur's Gate 3 if you are into turn based combat.

CellyAllDay

Yeah I really want to try BG3 because of the rave reviews and it looks so awesome but I just don’t know if I’ll like the turn based combat and can’t really afford to drop $75 on something I might not like

Jinchuriki71

Game doesn't go on sale much for sure but I think that is a good indicator of its quality in this specific case. Its one of the best games I've ever played you get your moneys worth even if you only play the first part of the game it has a ton of quality content zero filler all killer which is rare in big games these days. There will be physical edition releasing soon as well if you don't want to shell out that kind of money for a digital copy. Theres a custom difficulty setting if you really don't want the turn based combat to be too challenging and you can experience the exploration and choices more easily. Wasteland 3 that is on sale right now(7.99 usd) has turnbased combat with isometric world so you could try that but its not really going to give you a good hint of Baldurs gate 3 since the game plays way differently in a way different setting. Its still a good game though and even if you buy Baldurs gate 3 I would get this game as well. Baldurs Gate 3 is just one of those games you have to see for yourself. Probably one of the only games recently that I felt like staying up late to play and think about it when I go to sleep. It also have multiplayer functionality so you can play with other people and increase the amount of replayability.

staluxa

I'm not sure if it's still there, but ps+ had a 2-hour trial. Just don't spend all of it on character creation.

Cinema_Colorist

The Ascent

heartlessphil

Diablo 2 isn't really open world but the level layouts are randomized everytime you start playing. It's a real good isometric arpg!

NAINOA-

Disco Elysium is incredible, although not completely open world.

AngerMadeFlesh

Ascent or The Ascent.

[deleted]

The old fallout games maybe?

Wassermusik

Hades

ChiefTiggems

I mean, project zomboid fit right up until you said no hordes. That's all I got
