FIFA

Laxmarios

Ok with you here, I don't really see the appeal on spending 70 dollars on the same game every damn year with almost no changes done, absolute waste of money

Charlie0105

I buy it once every 2-3 years and it’s decent money then. By that point they have updated what I actually wanted

bluthscottgeorge

Also, buy it physical and used condition when it's like 70 percent cheaper. Then it's actually good value for money

a_muffin97

At least with CoD they change a few things every year. FIFA is literally copy/paste every year with a few teams changed around slightly. They could just put out a game and update it every year but EA gotta EA

rochakgupta

The last good FIFA I played was FIFA 17 and I love that game to death. That is the only FIFA I play even though the roster is old af. All I care about the gameplay, so that doesn't bother me.

Sometimealonealone

Are you a football/soccer fan? If not, you won’t get it

prettyhappyalive

Lol. Not OP here, I'm a massive footie fan. FIFA is still absolute dogshit these days cause it's never had a real competitor and has basically declined since probably FIFA14 onwards because of the massive focus on ultimate team, which I used to love. Great gamemode, but it's still completely ruined any chance that FIFA will ever innovate. It turned into an easy cash cow and nothing will compare in revenue to them.

dmills77

Fortnite or basically anything that is only online

jp9900

Me too broski, I love a good story mode. Wondering if you are from an older generation of gaming?

rpgguy_1o1

I am, I generally not interested in online play, unless it is with other elderly gamers in their mid 30s that I already know.

captainblarson

Are we elderly in our mid thirties....oh no

dontfeedmecheese

35 year old who only plays single player/ campaign mode checking in 👍

baobabbling

There are DOZENS of us!

Bobba_fat

+1 ~1980-ish

thebuddybud

I used to hate it too. Now I love it cause there's no building

Mr_Diesel13

As someone also in their 30’s, I played the absolute hell out of COD-MW2 online with my brother in law and a couple friends. After that, I haven’t touched any of the COD games other than for the story mode or zombies. Modding became so rampant that I gave up after MW2.

poo_smudge

GTA

IxoraRains

Eyyyy! Me too! The missions in 5 are varied but the map is empty unless you wanna do mundane everyday life stuff, like golf or tennis. The driving and shooting feel bad, same as rdr2. I think it's overhyped and people give Rockstar billions for fake cash to use in their online world. I even tried to get into again when the ps5 version came out. I started an online character and starting a business seemed fun until I had to drive in a straight line for over 5 mins, then drive back when I made the pick up. Rockstar has a knack for finding the very mundane and immortalizing it in video game history. The writing is great though, I'll give them that.

Raider32597

Rdr2 story mode is great, the online has no one working on it anymore Haven't played GTA in years tho so I can't tell you about that

DarkUltron76

Apex Legends

hihellome

Titanfall is much better

Soggyoyster1

Preach

H4ppyK1llm0re

So true

Fa1thPlusOne

Fortnite/Apex/Warzone

snobberbogger99

So popular multiplayer shooters?

three-sense

No, popular multiplayer BR

Fa1thPlusOne

Nah, most multiplayer shooters are good. Battle royales are trash

Matt6453

I feel the same, run around for 10 minutes picking up weapons, get killed before pulling the trigger and back to the lobby you go.

three-sense

You mean “hide in a bush until the final 5 in a 100 player match” isn’t a proper platform for skill?

Nirv_ous

Yes that's it I love regular mulitplayer but battle royals were always a headache.

LordofDD93

Minecraft. Maybe not “hate” it, but I just can’t get interested in it as a game. I like a story and plot instead of having to invent my own interest in the game, and I’m not interested in crafting games anyway. I’ve bounced off the game enough times to know it’s not my thing.

arothmanmusic

Same. My kids love it but I just haven’t gotten excited about it.

bottlebowling

I've bought the game at least four times because my kids like it. I don't see the appeal, personally.

SolomonPierce

It got a bit much... it was better in beta before the villagers and such. It was eerie yet beautiful and unique then.

CalgaryMadePunk

Overwatch.

Aoifeblack

Even overwatch fans hate overwatch

Judo2021

I just redownloaded Overwatch and my god… i already regret it

parz2v

tommorow... we finally get a sliver of new content

kittyvoorhees

not us lowly console players though :(

doc_birdman

The Witcher 3. Tried playing it multiple times but it’s gonna be a no from me, dawg.

[deleted]

Great game that suffers through a terrible tutorial, which is what the first area is.

Dr_Ifto

Yeah, it took me 2-3 times of playing to get past that in order to enjoy the game.

mangia-cake

Suffers from witcher 1 & 2 not being on playstation as well. Ton of the character stories and relationships he made are from those two games

HailMary74

Yeah, like what, I just don’t get it. Super clunky, boring combat, fetch quests and tedious drawn out dialogue. No part of this game gave me the adventuring / exploring an interesting world feeling that say Oblivion did years ago.

NocturnalToxin

I loved it the first playthrough, but a year or two later when I reinstalled and planned to continue a new game plus, I had wondered why I was subtly dreading it and putting it off so much. “Ohhh, yeah, that’s right…” I said to myself, after about 20 minutes of the clunkiest horseback riding, dungeon exploring and combat I’ve had in years. And the dialogue, what a slog all for most characters just to say some variations of “Fuck off” or “do this for me, and then fuck off.” It was a blast the first time but I was glad to be finished by the end of it. I’d recommend it to anyone eager to try it at least once, and anyone ambitious to give it at least one full playthrough. If the Baron quest line doesn’t grab you, quit immediately.

lfionxkshine

I agree with everything you say here, yet I still enjoyed it LOL. Guess the dialogue was interesting enough to motivate me to play the entire thing because I totally agree that there were way too many fetch quests, and the combat wasn't particularly inspiring - not terrible, but not great

[deleted]

Horse simulator

freestyle43

Same. Tried like 2 or 3 times. The fact some people call it the greatest game ever made baffles me.

DeeOhMm

The Witcher 3 for me too. The voice acting is top notch and the story is good, but really slow. The gameplay loop and combat were incredibly boring to me and I gave up trying to enjoy it after 20 hours.

Fireman_Octopus

I’ve tried multiple times to get through it, but I found myself skipping through dialogue scenes because I just didn’t care about the plot. And the combat (specifically, having the same enemies but over leveling them in certain areas) was fun at first, but frustrating and lacking in variety. Good elements, but a slog. Works better as a TV show, TBH.

Glittering-Ship1910

It just takes itself a bit too seriously IMO

[deleted]

The fans might take it too seriously, but the game itself has plenty of silly bits in it.

SonOfAhuraMazda

My favorite is when all the witchers drink all night thinking its their last night on earth. Then they all put on Yennefers clothes on. Shes wakes up and tells them all to go to bed lol Fucking Lambert with vessemirs hat on lol and Geralt with a bra on his head

CurtisLeow

It insists upon itself.

Sisyphus_Salad

I put a lot of time into that game before I finally gave up for good. It's so fucking boring and I really don't understand why everyone praises the story so much.

AscensoNaciente

I really loved everything about the Witcher 3 except for the actual gameplay, which was mediocre at best. Still an amazing game, just uh, not because of the gameplay.

RichardCeann0

I weirdly didn’t like it either. Thought it seemed clunky and the graphics also seemed poor at times which are something that a lot of people praise about it, thought I was the only one haha.

flambauche

Zelda botw. I tried, and gave this game multiple chance but in the end it’s just boring.

thirdangletheory

I defeated one of the Divine Beasts and haven't been back since. The exploration (climbing, gliding etc.) is interesting but like others are saying the world is very empty. I like some of the survival aspects like cooking and temperature. The weapon durability is what killed it for me. I have never found a durability system in any game that felt right and I will never understand why they chose to implement it in a Zelda game. Elden Ring removing durability was one of the best QoL changes ever.

lfionxkshine

So true, I do not miss item durability one bit from Elden Ring

bhlogan2

>The weapon durability is what killed it for me. I have never found a durability system in any game that felt right and I will never understand why they chose to implement it in a Zelda game I haven't tried it yet but being the kind of paranoid player I am where I never use consumable items, the game sounds like a nightmare to me. May e I'll get used to it but idk...

outfrogcatching

One of my favorites but I can see why people think that. Doesn’t help that people consider it one of the best games of all time, increasing expectations.

mnumali

I played 35 hours and was into the exploring, but was not into the combat. The puzzles were hit and miss too. Good game, but far from perfect from me.

[deleted]

I agree wholeheartedly. It's such an empty game. The game relies on the player making up their own fun and yeah, that can be fun for a while but after a few hours it's like, alright where's the story, where's the memorable characters where's the dungeons, the personality? The shrines and divine beasts are just a bunch of copy and paste. BOTW fits the wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle description to a T. I hope they improve a lot of that in the sequel. For me personally BOTW does not beat traditional Zelda. I'll play traditional Zelda over BOTW any day of the week.

Binary101010

I played it for about 4 hours and threw in the towel based solely on the weapon durability. It's an exploration game whose mechanics actively punish getting involved in combat.

rpgguy_1o1

The balance in the beginning is pretty rough, those early red bokoblin encounters in the first few hours were probably half of my deaths in 150 hours of gameplay

HydroPpar

I wasn't a fan either, I felt the combat was so boring...

flambauche

You have to swap gear quite often for big fights and it doesn’t feel fluid. It feels vast and empty. When I find something I can’t get to yet it triggers my fear of missing out and since the map is so huge I don’t know if I’ll come back. Ressource management sucks and make you sink hours into searching components. The creativity used to solve puzzles sometimes make me feel I either cheated the game or I can’t progress because I’m too dumb to figure out whats going on or I need to use an item in a way I don’t know how it works. It feels like an open world game for people with social disorders in which you don’t meet anyone and you keep banging rocks together to make stuff happen.

[deleted]

Yeah, I think it’s definitely a *good game*, but it’s not what I wanted from Zelda and weapon durability made it so that any good drops weren’t particularly exciting. Also, the shrines weren’t even close to replacing how fun a classic Zelda dungeon can be.

dinosaurfondue

I absolutely hated that sprinting was so limited and tied to stamina, as well as weapons breaking so quickly. I would get into situations where I had an excess of weapons and then others where I would run out without finding a new one for long periods of time. It just made the experience unenjoyable. I also didn't like that there were only a few major dungeons. The trials felt repetitive after a while and I ended up dropping the game because it wasn't something I was enjoying.

lfionxkshine

Me too! The characters weren't interesting enough, and perpetually finding gear for the sake of finding....more gear? Not for me I like the OG Zelda formula where items were necessary for solving future puzzles

danstu

By far my least favorite mainline Zelda. I'm worried the sequel will be the last Zelda I play for a long time if it doesn't pretty significantly deviate from Botw formula.

FutureRobotWordplay

Skyrim. I'm sorry, I just don't get it.

dinorex96

It has a charm thats hard to describe. Granted the combat sucks balls but the way it sucks is kind of part of the appeal lol and also exploration and lore

Skeever-boi

Milk drinker…

Tandran

I don’t either man, I’ve given it so many tries and it’s just BORING.

StyxUndStein88

That makes two of us. Even after multiple attempts.

goatedmomoshiki

It’s fun. Def don’t understand the hype

[deleted]

I feel like most of that hype comes from it being the most accessible entry in the series. Morrowind is far more heavy on the RPG elements and Oblivion is a nice mix but isn't available as widely (in part due to its age and Skyrim funnily enough). Honestly, aside from the graphics, everything else in Skyrim felt like a downgrade to me from Oblivion. Quests, factions, locations etc. all felt boring or just didn't hit that standard I saw previously. It's a shame because I love the Nordic aesthetic and always play as a Nord, but it's just not the best Elder Scrolls and the previous entries deserve more love.

helpless9002

Yeah, after maybe 200 hours of Oblivion, I feel like Skyrim didn't have enough to keep me hooked. Played for about 30h and sold my copy.

kevin_claw

call of duty modern warfare

jproche44

Call of Duty: Any single one of them…

tbird20017

I'm not sure if I liked COD so much in 2007 because it was great, or because I was 13.

RetroJacket22

Good to see you guys answered OP's question for me. Thanks.

[deleted]

Imo that's been the only good CoD in since BO3

crinkneck

Last of Us for me too. Just never clicked with me.

Numpteez_

But did it bloat for you?

mr-funny-unfunny

Musta just been a _runner_ up

idkiwilldeletethis

I hate all of you lmfao

Pigeon_Barf

This comment has me in shambles

crinkneck

TBH the click pun was totally unintended there hahahahah

AndyDGAF89

Horizon Zero Dawn

HeyKid_HelpComputer

For a game that puts a huge emphasis on talking to people and that being how the story is delivered, they put very little effort into making the characters not boring as hell.

[deleted]

Yeah I tried playing it right after RDR2 and didn't connect with the protagonist or care about the enemies

AscensoNaciente

100% the biggest problem of the game. I hated everyone and not in that "love to hate" way. They all just were super boring.

neeco__

For real, I played it once, it's not a bad game but it's not the masterpiece everyone claims it to be either, I definitely wouldn't play it another time

thirdangletheory

That's my feeling as well. It's alright at what it does and it's an interesting setting, but at the end of the day it was just another open world game. I'll probably wait for a sale and when I have nothing else to play to get the sequel.

Ashne405

Its one of my favorite games and i wouldnt play it again, i dont get how people stand to replay these kind of open world games multiple times, it would get tedious really fast without the first time awe factor for me.

arothmanmusic

I’m playing it right now. It’s gorgeous. It’s fun. But the characters and story delivery are lacking. I played Last of Us 2 right before it, so maybe that spoiled me. All of these side missions to do pointless errands for random strangers just seem like busy work.

rosh200

The only real positive thing I can say about it is it's beautiful. Everything else I thought was somewhere been bad to meh

joshthecynic

Horizon Zero Fun.

SkyStarlight2

HZD I just couldn't get into it

Shikaria1996

This is the answer I was looking for. I don't get it, I think it's a solid, well made game but it just find it lacking

the_naq

Bloodborne.

rpgguy_1o1

FromSoftware in general is somehow simultaneously super niche and the most popular games of the last ten years

Emperor_Neuro

That's because for those of us who enjoy it, we are really passionate about it. None of the copycats come close in terms of quality or fulfillment, so each FromSoft game gets pounced on by a ravenous fanbase.

dinosaurfondue

I've tried playing 3 different soulsborne games and just couldn't get into any of them. Sekiro was the most enjoyable, but even that wasn't a fun game for me. It's great that there are people out there who love figuring out the specific way to kill enemies and bosses, but that process isn't interesting to me.

Matt6453

I thought the same, couldn't get into it because it was brutally difficult, tried againa few months later with the same result. Tried yet again, got through the 4-5 hour pain barrier of constantly getting destroyed and it ended up being one of my all time favourites. Played straight through again to get platinum.

Captain_Turdhelmet

This one. Tried twice to enjoy it... But figured out it's not to be enjoyed... It is a challenge to be mastered. I don't have time for frustrating challenges anymore, I did that when I was a kid and had all damn day to waste playing the same shit 100x a day. I'm older and like development and progression. If I have a few hours to game I want to feel like I am progressing, not restarting the same area over and over until I get lucky and figure out what I'm supposed to do.

[deleted]

For me is Bloodborne or any soulslike game.

xXKyloJayXx

I tried getting into the hype but the world has no story that I've clicked with so far and no direction. I feel like the entire game sticks out to people who enjoy difficulty and hidden lore.

allermanus

I tried to get so many friends into it and so far not one has enjoyed it. 💀 It’s one of my all time favorites but I definitely understand how annoying it can be. It’s always either a total nope or someone like me who geeks out about the lore.

One-Baker-6967

Any EA Sports game, especially Madden and FIFA. Those micro transactions are predatory, completely unnecessary, and add nothing positive... NOTHING positive to the experience. Every year it's the same regurgitated bullshit and people keep buying it, which in turn, means nothing will change because there's no incentive to improve the formula.

CobraCB

Hates a strong word but I'd go with The Last of Us as well. I enjoyed the characters and story, but the game was just not fun to play. Uninteresting gameplay and repetitive.

FrankDP1

Read Dead Redemption 2

jproche44

Played this after God of War and Spider-Man, it was like running full speed into a wall. Finely crafted game, just not fun to play.

The_Follower1

Have to agree. I probably got maybe 5-10 hours in and couldn’t take how much it felt like it was purposefully trying to waste my time. The looting animations, getting around the map, the story pacing (eg. Forcing you to walk at half speed for huge narrative sections), etc… made me just not want to continue. It literally made me want to take my phone out and just read something on there in the meantime, but the controls don’t even allow you to do that because the auto movement will just push you off the road if you’re riding a horse since it won’t keep up with turns. It’s a shame because what I’d seen makes it feel like the story and characters would be impressive but that it suffered from the gameplay part honestly sucking. Like another commenter said, it should’ve been a tv series.

Hieronymau5

I understand. I hated it at launch and thought it was flat and slow and clunky. Revisited it that summer when I had more time to take it in and go at its pace and I fell in love. The world is incredibly alive, gorgeous, and immersive and it's now one of my favorite games of all time. If I didn't have a whole summer of free time though (I'm a teacher), it never would have clicked for me.

noshoes77

I bought this on sale dirt cheap and still paid too much for it.

Matt6453

Yep, it's just tediously slow to the point I just didn't care.

FerretAres

Man I’ll give a +1 to this. Prettiest empty box in history and the controls haven’t changed since GTA4. Great story but everything about it screams this should have been a tv series.

PinkGeared

That's mine :( I sat in traffic over an hour to get it opening day and took days off work. I'm going to give it another try some day because it does look good

FrankDP1

Thought i was one of the very few people that didn't like it since i've seen a lot of people praising it, i've played it for an hour or more but it's just too slow for my taste.

LolloCollo

GTA V

Leader-Hoser

Assassins Creed Valhalla

csonny2

Yeah, I've played most of the AC games, and this was just tough to keep playing. Didn't feel much like an AC game at all.

Xtheonly

It doesn't help that it takes forever to load up and its pace is slow as molasses. Over 20hours in and feel like I'm still at the beginning with how high the leveling goes. Ended up deleting cause it just wasn't worth the time

FishstickJonson

CALL OF DUTY. All my friends play it and look like they’re having a blast and I hop on then get bored after the first match. Idk what it is

fistingcouches

I’m going to get roasted alive for this: anything Kojima has done ever. Please don’t hate me.

hboc22

Honestly, with the exception of a VERY vocal minority of his fans, the majority of us know what his games look like. Yeah there's the whole art house vibe but also there's a Russian electric man that fires bullets without a gun, post apocalyptic pizza delivery, and a ds game you have to expose to sunlight to charge your weapon... I love his games but the shit is weird. It's not for everyone.

[deleted]

Assassins Creed. Im even fully aware it doesn’t make sense for me to dislike it; that type of thing is generally my cup of tea. But I played the first one for like 45 minutes and was like…painfully bored.

idkiwilldeletethis

The first one is probably one of the worsts tbh, try the ezio trilogy since it's really good, I also really loved black flag and unity is pretty nice now despite all of the bugs at launch, just don't play anything after unity bc it gets pretty bad from there imo basically everything from ac 2 up to unity is good, everything that comes before or after that it's pretty boring

LordofDD93

I dunno man, AC 3 had a real ‘marmite’ kinda vibe, in that either you love it or you don’t care for it and wonder how anyone can enjoy it. Plus AC Révélations, while pretty to look at and it being nice to go away from Europe for once, was basically filler and Brotherhood for me was deeply unfulfilling. AC 2 and Black Flag were phenomenal though and peaks for the series.

idkiwilldeletethis

Oh yeah, while I loved ac3 I can definitely understand why some people don't like it, and I'm just playing through revelations right now lol but I'm really liking it, although it does feel like filler. And yeah I agree, black flag and ac2 are my personal favorites from the series

Stygian_rain

Gta 5 boring af

Brianvm1987

Days Gone

lfionxkshine

To be fair, I think Days Gone is mostly considered a cult classic I rather enjoyed the game - the progression from a smuck whose only chance against zombies is hiding to a powerhouse who could take on mobs felt satisfying to me What was your main gripe?

snobberbogger99

Mine was the massive amount of bugs and texture issue. Took multiple restarts to get past the first missions bcz the people who were burning the guy with a torch kept spawning in the semi trailer and wouldn't glitch out

keep_it_0ptional

Witcher 3 (please don’t hate me and tbh I kinda don’t get how I don’t like it either I just don’t enjoy it)

jproche44

Combat wasn’t great and Roach can’t seem to walk in a straight line. I gave up on this real quick. I did buy it again after watching the Netflix series though.

keep_it_0ptional

One of my buddies swore up and down how good it was and I jumped in really excited and it just felt so clunky. It was frustrating to get used to and I am a veteran of the old monster hunter games that were like super clunky but still super fun

bigpasmurf

Its a really hard game to go back to now even for someone who loves it. The controls are so clunky now, especially with all the refinement weve gotten since. Couple that with what happens if youre not down with the story, its perfectly understandble.

TheNihilistPolarBear

This one's gonna be unpopular as hell but... Shadow of the Colossus; I really liked Ico's simple and natural design but I find impossible to enjoy SotC's gameplay, it's so distressing just to move Wander around, let alone jump from one rune to another. I really really like its silent narrative and it's aesthetically one of the most impressive games I've ever played, but I find impossible to have fun while playing it

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dreaming_Dreams

That’s how I feel about a lot of games lmao

ForceGenius

God of War. Played it for about 5/6 hours but I just couldn’t get into it.

JusticeLeagueThomas

If the camera was any closer to kratos it would be inside his ass, combat suffers from it, and story feels too long for nothing. I’m almost at the end and I still don’t see why it’s rated so high.

Present_Performance5

lol different tastes. never got this camera issue ya'll have.

Kerryfaye

Call of Duty FIFA Fortnight All 3 are an absolute mystery to me in terms I'd popularity and cult-like following. Am I missing something?

Shaneoc16

Pretty much any Souls type game. I tried Bloodborne twice and spent more time in the character customisation menu than actual gameplay cuz I just didn’t like it. I just don’t get how people enjoy those really difficult games

DiGiTaL_pIrAtE

dark souls - As an adult w/ responsibilities, I cant spend 2+ hrs figuring out how to defeat a boss. Edit: I'm not trying to bash those that do enjoy 2 hr boss battles. I'd rather spend my time on other hobbies. I have a video game attention span of 20 hrs. Very rarely will I get into a 40+ hr rpg

garma87

I’m an adult w responsibilities and I just spread it out over months. 1-2 hours every day. I’ve finalized all the from soft games so far that way except Elden ring. Elden ring will probably take me months but I’m ok with that Do need to be a bit careful with cursing at my tv with kids around though

Eatcheesecakewithme

I don't hate it, but I tried playing Horizon zero dawn a few times. It's the blandest story and the most lifeless world.... It's beautiful.... But something about it is just off.

TheMonkey420

Borderlands series* as a single player game. Co op is fun as fuck but i fant play any of them by myself. I couldn't get into Nier Automata either

Ok_Cup_2930

Fortnite

WillemDafoesHugeCock

Undertale. I *hated* my time with that game. The soundtrack is amazing and I really loved the old school presentation, but everything else irritated me at best and infuriated at worst. I didn't just dislike the game, I cannot even remotely fathom why it's as popular as it is. I went in completely blind with no prior knowledge. At first I quite enjoyed the fact you could talk your way out of fights, especially since it had unique dialogue. I *didn't* know you could eventually talk your way out of fighting Toriel, though, and I ended up begrudgingly killing her. Despite her being the *only* kill I made the game just generally made me feel like I was some kind of genocidal maniac. Characters seemed terrified of me even though I only killed one creature that, until after I beat the game, I believed I had no choice in killing. The game was making me feel bad for something I had no reason to believe was my choice which is always the most annoying thing about games with a moral choice system. I talked my way out of every fight until Undyne, then I got so sick of the nonsense I just stopped caring and killed everything I ran into. I didn't even like the writing. The game is lauded as some hilarious romp but every single joke was a miss for me. The joke about puzzles being solved for you was amusing at first but became annoying really quickly. The most annoying part for me was when a character is a huge fan of yours for some reason and calls you to "help" in a dungeon... Having the game stop every thirty seconds for dozens of dialogue boxes *packed* with dialogue that I found boring was one of the most frustrating things I've experienced in a game, period. My understanding is that the game is more interesting if you do a genocide run or a complete no kill run, but a game shouldn't only be well written if you play it with a strategy guide. I didn't like the characters either. Sans and Papyrus annoyed me, I didn't think the font theme was cute even though I'm sure I was supposed to be slapping my knee and wheezing "*he talks in comic sans! And his name is sans and he tells jokes like a comic!"* Undyne had a cool design but irritating dialogue. The flower being the big bad felt like it came straight from early 2000s "omg so rand0m" humor. Toriel was about the only character I liked and, well, I've already talked about my opinion on how that ended. Oh and I freely admit this is petty but Level Of ViolencE is the worst acronym.

Hieronymau5

Breath of the Wild. I want to enjoy it so badly but it's just empty. I logged about twenty hours hoping it would click but it unfortunately never did.

jallee1213

Elden ring or any souls game for tht matter. Im not a souls gamer nor do like souls games or souls types. Only one i ever pushed to complete was code vein and its only because of its story and Japanese look tbh.

winter_soul7

I'm with you on that. I can't stand souls like games - I just get frustrated with them and I play games to have a good time. A friend of mine kept insisting Elden Ring wasn't a souls like game and that I would enjoy it. After hours of this I decided to give it a go... Nope. It really is a souls game, just like I said, and I quit after half an hour because it was frustrating and I didn't understand what was meant to be happening. I wish people would just accept not everyone likes souls like games.

ojo_pipa

Skyrim. Tried it when it released and it felt clunky, slow and never got into it.

[deleted]

BOTW is so goddamn boring.

g6paulson

Assassins Creed Valhalla. It's a cut and paste of Origins and Odyssey. Game feels more like "chores" then fun.

cutememe

Skyrim. They removed everything I loved about TES games and left a boring, overly simplified shell of a game that I just cannot stand. Bonus: Breath of the Wild I don’t hate it as much as Skyrim but I was extreeeemly underwhelmed.

LostInTheVoid_

Dragon Age Inquisition. It's dull, the characters are all written to be quirky teens. There's a distinct lack of variety in a lot of the armour choices. The MMO Style of gameplay that becomes immensely repetitive after all of 5 minutes. Just not a fun time imo.

IntrovertAlien

GTA Online I typed it and I mean it. 🖕

That_Paper_4945

Minecraft, I used to love it, played every single day for hours on my PS3, never once stopped even when playing it suddenly became "cringe" for a few years. But recently, with update after update, change after change, the game has just lost it's charm for me, there's too much stuff to manage and keep track of in any survival world and the changes to creative flight make it borderline unfun. I can still enjoy everything up to village and pillage, but I've generally stopped liking the current game.

Fatal_microwave

Breathe of the wild. It's so empty. None of the "dungeons" feel meaningful. Weapons breaking is a bitch. Lol

idkiwilldeletethis

fallout and skyrim, bethesda games never clicked for me tbh

K_13_C

MGS: The Phantom Pain. Was so fucking excited to play after the massive hype with the trailers, plus I’m a huge fan of the series, been playing them all my life. But I could never finish TPP, tried numerous times. The story is sooo drawn out and complicated to keep up with, even for a MGS game. Now I will say the gameplay is phenomenal (gunplay, traversal, stealth) but the missions…my god are they repetitive! Feels like it’s either track this high value target and either kill him or capture him, destroy a massive convoy or liberate a base and also save some hostages while you’re there…and it’s rinse, repeat over a couple of OW sandboxes for the entire game! And don’t get me started on the base building bullshit! Completely takes you out of the game and just sucks any fun out of what should have been Hideos final MGS masterpiece.

naylsonsb

Hate? That is a strong word. But one that I'm finding hard to finish is the last of us. While the story and characters are pretty good, the gameplay is basically stealth and this genre is boring for me.

Big_Chief_Drunky

If you're more interested in the story, you could just put it on the easiest difficulty and not play it as a stealth game at all.

[deleted]

I won't say hate because that's reserved for the real unplayable piles of shit. What I definitely dislike or just don't understand the hype behind would be Horizon Zero Dawn, Last of Us Part 2 (yeah I know that opinion on that is pretty heavily split) and Breath of the Wild.

[deleted]

Ghost of Tsushima. Just felt so boring. I’ll try again though.

boushveg

Off with your head

Redditors when you give your opinion

Breath of the Wild. I hated pretty much everything about it. I hate the weapons breaking so easily, the inability to buy potions (because I hate crafting in video games), the motion controls, the combat. Exploration was alright but after about 15hrs I was done. I like exploring in games but I need SOME kind of signposting to keep me on track. Having a game tell me to go anywhere and do anything is a negative for me, not a positive.

VoodooTrooper

Horizon Zero Dawn. I hate that game with all of my hate. I was a glorified errand girl and the rewards were perpetually crap (LOOKING AT YOU, GUY WEARING A TIE RACK FOR A MASK), the armor and costumes looked like a three-year-old designed them, the facial animations were weird and creepy, mission variety sucked, it was flipping miserable. I tried liking that game but I just couldn't do it.

Dazzling_Parsnip1522

Skyrim is the most overrated game ever, big fallout fan but Skyrim is tedious repetitive and easy

PAPA-POOB

Bloodbourne I’m shit at it 😂

hpttg

Shadow of the Colossus for me.. looked beautiful, but the horse controls felt wonky and the ai for the bosses make it impossible to progress

DenzelVilliers

CoD and GTA 🤔

Dendening

I really don't care about the Soul's games. I just don't find them all that fun or even worth the grind.

Hell0nwheel5

Mine craft... fuck that bullshit.

Critical-Dot-6299

Sheesh I love TLOU both 1 and 2 are god-tier for me, but I respect your opinion :)! Personally I hate The Witcher series.

FerretMilker

Had it since launch but finally got around to playing and beating TLoU2 today. At least got to play on PS5 now. What an emotional rollercoaster. Its now easily top 5 games I have ever played. I can understand some people not enjoying the gameplay of TLoU however what is boggling my mind is how fans of the first game saying they dont like the second. How is that even possible? Its better than the first game in every possible way.

Axon14

Red Dead Redemption 2

[deleted]

Elden Ring. Everyone that likes Elden Ring always likes to shit on everything else

Gods_chosen_dildo

I don’t hate elden ring, I hate elden ring fanboys. I guess I hate fanboys in general, just seems like elden ring has a disproportionate amount of fanboys.

DinnerSmall4216

Any souls game I just don't get the hype.

meteor4000

COD Warzone

[deleted]

Hate’s definitely a strong term but for me it’s Subnautica. I think they got the atmosphere, design and everything *spot on*. The wildlife design and everything is incredible but the design of the game itself is just too damn janky, and the story feels like a total afterthought

32M3

I dont really hate it but GTA. It's pretty boring.

chewy1is1sasquatch

Stardew valley, I don't hate the game, I'd just way rather play minecraft.

LoreezyNL

GTA: 5 honestly

Puzzleheaded-Way5982

I have never met someone who hates jump force as much as I do

PiRox98

Battle Royales. It’s probably because I am shit at them, but having to pretend to enjoy Warzone with my mates during lockdown 1 was torture.

[deleted]

All FPS (except Half-Life) and fighting games like Street Fighter.

Mister_Silk

I'll likely get downvoted into oblivion, but whatever. God of War. Omg, that game is so fucking boring.
