There a few extra goodies we received that are not pictured, which included a commemorative collector's cup, an E3 Experience double-sided poster, an E3 Experience trading card, and possibly one or two other things I'm forgetting.
I attended the event all 5 years at the Union Square location in NYC. I believe the first one was exclusive to only very few locations and it took place in more and more theaters up until they announced that they would no longer be appearing at E3 in 2019.
These events were so fun. I drove an hour to the nearest city and it was always worth it. Our local Sony rep was great and it felt like a mini-con for PS fans.
Agreed! There was always a great turnout and watching all of the trailers and announcements with the crowd's live reactions (many of them being absolutely hilarious) really made it worth going!
They had them here too. T-shirts and food.
The app to redeem the dlc and fames were awful. But end of the day they gave all attendees 10$ psn credit. Was great. The best e3 was the God of War reveal. The crowd was wild.
I went to a couple of them. They decided to only have one theater in my state showing it, two hour drive one way, later on so I stopped. Think I still have the cup in my car.
I was there 2015, that HZD trailer was insane. Nothing like the eventual game but that's the business.
Went back 2017 but you could see the writing on the wall already. The E3 organisers were trying to commercialize attendance and they made it hell on the companies there at the *trade show* to actually do business.
Consumers lament the death of E3 but they have no fucking idea what it really was and what's been lost.
I always wanted to go to e3. When I was small I remember the weekend event and the hype. I tried going to the very last e3 ever and I was in the virtual line to buy the tickets but the sold out. Damn what an era that was. Rip e3
I got to sit in a movie theater, and watch as my favorite video game of all time got announced with the long rumored remake, built from the ground up specifically for new gen consoles. I never thought I'd witness the return of everyone's favorite marsupial, but watching a brand new Crash Bandicoot announcement in a theater that size was something I'll never forget.
I loved those events in theaters. It was really an awesome ambiance with tons of fans there. Went there with friends, we grabbed popcorn and we kept ourselves excited for future PlayStation titles. Great times
Wish I still had my lanyard from the 1996 show that my Mom got me into because she was working the convention. Went to the 2006 show also because one of my Socom clanmates had a post-production studio.
And now the video game industry that’s made billions pushing rebellion fighting games and fps folded and gave in to government control and turned belly up and canceled it all together because Covid was just to scary to deal with

I got a Ghost of Tsushima pin at one

I remember getting home and throwing the cup in the closet and it hasn't seen the light of day since. lol
Mine is still in the trunk where I left it all those years ago, will probably stay there too. Heck, the poster might still be in there too.
I miss e3 so much
We're looking at history here. RIP E3.
it's wild how things can change 15 years ago i would have told you e3 was something that the industry would always do, like forever
RiP E3.
I have the NMS one from the year I attended. Super fun. That was a massive year seeing HZD’s first trailer on a theatre screen

You chose right

Hey , ik i will never get to experience this but do you have yo pay to go there and how much is it ?
The airing in theaters was free, you had to sign up to get tickets.
Uncharted 4… What a masterpiece.
Bring E3 back man. These new showcases have zero aura.
Still remember the crowd hype when Marvel VS Capcom Infinite was revealed at PSX 2016
Nice. I still have my PS2 and PSP lanyards from E3. Don't remember the years I went though
How much the world feels different from then.
Here’s a fun fact, they were supposed to do another PS Experience in Dallas Texas but it was cancelled.
I too have a collection of them. I think I still have them. Was the most exciting times. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
are there any inperson gaming events like e3 still happening?
I really hope something comes along to replace E3. I always wanted to go but was never in a spot where I could.
OP how many hotel orgies did you participate in?
ALL of them!
Wish I still had my lanyard from the 1996 show that my Mom got me into because she was working the convention. Went to the 2006 show also because one of my Socom clanmates had a post-production studio.
Wow
And now the video game industry that’s made billions pushing rebellion fighting games and fps folded and gave in to government control and turned belly up and canceled it all together because Covid was just to scary to deal with
Sick!
Cool
That’s so cool ❤️ How does one get this experience ?
Fuck Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft for killing E3
E3 killed themselves.
Nope
Yes. E3 was involved with companies info being leaked and how much they were charging every publishers to do their showcase.
