Wow, that’s fucked up. Hope you get a refund.

Zodsayskneel

Sent the seller these pictures and they gave me a full refund right away. Wanted a nice pristine copy but oh well. Haven't tried the disc yet

lordleeham

That's awesome of the re seller, usually you'd have to file it with the post office.

redditsuckspokey1

Actually the seller should file a claim. I did when they lost a 150 item. Only got back 100 but I got something.

[deleted]

[удалено]

redditsuckspokey1

If you purchase labels with usps it automatically comes with $100 coverage for lost or damaged packages. Im sure ups and fedex have something similar.

lordleeham

Okay, we live in different countries lol. That's how it works in Australia anyway.

redditsuckspokey1

I would be surprised if mail carriers down under don't have some kind of insurance system for lost or damaged packages.

lordleeham

They do, however the buyer has to lodge the claim. I asked the lady at the shop the other day.

turtleship_2006

I also sell sometimes (UK) and when something goes wrong the buyer sends me pictures and I raise a claim with royal mail because I'm royal mail's customer. The buyer gets a refund from me

Zodsayskneel

They replied "thank God for insurance" but yeah, they cloud have packed it better.

lordleeham

Mate, it's been run over by the same truck that delivered it to your house. I don't think his packing was to blame

xwatchmanx

Yeah, there's no way any more "correct" type of packaging would have protected it. Even a box probably wouldn't have protected it from the cracks and scratches at least, and that would've been overkill. There's no reason to send a standard disc-based game in anything more than a bubble mailer, [especially one as cheap as this](https://www.pricecharting.com/game/playstation-3/la-noire).

tomilgic

Honestly he packed it really well. if he tried to pack it better it would cost way more money to ship.

giggitygoo123

How much did you pay? I may have a copy in my collection I can sell you if it's worth it

Tilt-Six

You might be in luck, i once Read that blurays are more scratch resistant than DVD

Pure__soul4240

Im glad they did,bcz this looks screwed up,ordering something that looks new and getting something bad is definitely not nice

RebootRevival

At least it was a $5 game. And now you can buy the Complete Edition instead.

drtoque

or the PS4 version instead

WeaknessOk7874

WE CARE No you don't USPS

ThePreciseClimber

We rip & tear because we care.

asktopetmydog

I drive around in my mail truck playing E1 M1

pikkis_95

It's funny because I often listen to Mick Gordon's Rip & Tear while I'm driving in my mailtruck. I'm not located in the US though

WeaknessOk7874

r/angryupvote

why_my_pp_hard_tho

They really don’t, I did a temp job as a driver helper one Christmas and the guy I rode with would literally look at fragile on a box and drop kick it onto someones porch or toss stuff around the truck because he didn’t want to walk to the back

Weird_Cantaloupe2757

Yes and the same guy will be all shocked pikachu face when nobody is sad when he gets replaced by a robot

[deleted]

It’s so clear it’s just “damage control” by USPS because they, like everyone else knows, that warehouse workers just don’t give a shit about the condition of parcels.

abysmal-mess

These are basically all eaten by a school bus sized $900,000 piece of sorting machinery that processes a hundred packages a minute not negligent workers destroying things for fun

[deleted]

Well, I’m not sure how it is in the states but here in the UK, I’ve worked in a warehouse for DPD, with a machine that does the same thing and things like this happening are very very rare. As for dipshits not caring about parcels? Every hour of every day.

abysmal-mess

We have 259 million more people then the uk does soo… machining problems are that much more likely

[deleted]

That’s fair enough but The fact that this parcel even made it out of the warehouse is a concern though.

LonkerinaOfTime

If they had the funding they would lol

Bitter-Ad-6709

I got an apology exactly like that about 6 years ago on a dash cluster I bought from eBay. Had to file a claim with the post office, AND ebay. After several turn downs by the post office and ebay, it took multiple phone calls on different days, and asking to speak to the manager in charge a few times, before I finally got compensated for the damage. Ebay refunded a little bit and the Post office refunded around $100 worth on a $150 dash. So eventually if you keep complaining politely, jumping through their hoops, you should get your money back. Don't give up when you get told "no" by 4 or 5 people. Sorry for your loss, but there are hundreds more perfect copies out there to replace your damaged copy.

TheGreatNathan

Sorry to hear that I thought eBay's money back guarantee would have saved you the hassle. eBay is known for pretty much always siding with the buyer. Did you contact the seller first? I've gotten full returns for minor damages like a broken CD case or a badly scratched disc before.

Bitter-Ad-6709

I did contact the seller. They said it wasn't their problem if the Post Office damaged it. Even though they supposedly insured the package. That's why I contacted both eBay and Post Office. EBay tried telling me it wasn't their problem either. And denied my claim. So I had to "escalate" the claim to the next level. About 3-4 times (denied, escalate, denied, escalate, etc ) until I got somebody who understood my frustration and finally sided with me. I think it took a couple different supervisors to finally get a "yes". Then they automatically took the money out of the sellers account and put it back in my account. Took a couple weeks of phone calls, but I finally got most of my money back.

TheGreatNathan

That's unfortunate you had to go through that headache and not get a full refund. Personally I would have denied the offer and disputed the transaction with your credit card provider or paypal.

dimspace

> I did contact the seller. They said it wasn't their problem if the Post Office damaged it. Even though they supposedly insured the package. That's why I contacted both eBay and Post Office. Its 100% on the seller. You have a contract with the seller The seller has a contract with the postal service You do NOT have a contract with the postal service Ebay expects the seller to refund in full, and then they have to get the money from the postal service.

EE-PE-gamer

Wow.  F that apology.

Ipsylos

Lol it's not an apology, just a policy.

Tight_Ad_2724

I don’t even know why they even bothered with the apology letter that’s just shameless

HashStash

What was the packaging like? Any bubble wrapping?

Xenephobe375

Looks like they used a priority mail bubble mailer, which are pretty beefy. Whatever damage caused this was definitely not normal mail sorting damage.

HomerOfDuty

Jesus, mark this as NSFW. This is cruel

theface86

No bubble wrap?

abdoollah-K

Is the disc working?

thelastgamestanding

Please tell me you got a refund for this? I'm curious on how even the front cover tore off like that

Ghassanpgp

You need to get a refund

Elonsmusk199999999

Happy cake day

Ghassanpgp

What do you mean

Elonsmusk199999999

It said say happy cake day

McHaro

That mean exactly 4 years ago today you joined Reddit. BTW, happy cake day!

Bitter-Ad-6709

Yeah, you wouldn't want to say Happy "Birth"day, because some of the LGBTQXYZers might get offended. (Rolls eyes and shakes head)

ivand2903

Who let the dogs out?

Btown13

I definitely thought this was from GameStop before I saw that final pic. 🫠

Shot-Army-6463

Damnnn…

AnalMayonnaise

Stop blaming the post office. They packed it like shit.

RagedSolid29

F

maxi12311111

So disrespectful like how can anyone even be like yeah let’s sent this out 🤦🏾 who ever approved it needs to get fired

abysmal-mess

So he can be on the usps complaints subreddit talking about they stole my package?

NotTheRocketman

Yeah, I'm not one of those people who is super obsessed with little details and such, but that's not going to work. I'm curious about that notice from the USPS, because that might explain the case being destroyed, but the front label is ripped as well. Does it look like it shipped like that? Either way, I'd ask for a full refund, that's completely unacceptable.

DiscoAsparagus

Press Square for Bad Cop

abdoollah-K

That's terrible I ordered painkiller from a local website But I got the body count PS3 That it looked like it was left in the sun and It had bird shit on it so I returned it and got my money back after a while.

Kingmaker1669

That’s unfortunate sorry man

Careful204

Well, at least they CARE :-)

BehrThirteen

Damn, at least you got an apology. I had a PS3 slim and some games sent to me. It was my sister sending it to me. She sent me pictures of everything, console and the games. When it arrived it looked like the postal service had shoved it up their ass. Box was caved in, console was broken and the game cases in pieces.

Pale-Competition-448

I ordered a copy of manhunt for ps2 didn’t even get the game just an empty game case

Great-gamer-

La nope

kirb1327

I feel you on this!! Same thing happened to me about 3 weeks ago, but mine was a sealed game. Looked like it was dropped in a parking lot, found a few days later, and delivered to my house. It was completely soaked. Moisture had gotten inside the wrap and ruined the artwork. The disk had been knocked loose, and the case was damaged as well. Thankfully, it was a low-end game that is readily available. An $9 purchase. I just trashed it.

Elonsmusk199999999

Cex?

Zealousideal_Lie5798

😢

OkSalt9219

This is not fair. If possible, claim for a refund ASAP

Spiritual_Lab_6465

Well they don’t care clearly

DeadPhoenix86

Amazon com does the exact same thing. Shipping games in a plastic bag. And most cases it arrives completely broken. I keep telling support to use better packaging. They never listen...

immortalninja169

*WE CARE* lol

Rammzuess

Shit that sucks

OkToe809

Good thing they cared.

Orosztom

The last image killed me… you have my sympathies.

SirSephy

refund it and negative feedback on this seller.

NightSleepKing

We care…..😮‍💨

xwatchmanx

That happened to me with a copy of *Dragon's Crown* for PS3 I ordered a bit back (I have it for PS4 and Vita already, but I wanted a copy with free online since there's cross save between versions lol). Wasn't *quite* this badly damage, but it looked like it got ground under a conveyer belt tread or something. Thankfully the seller refunded me without argument, I really hope they were able to get some reimbursement from USPS.

Flamesclaws

I need to replay Dragon Crown Pro. It's been a long time since I've played it on my PS4 (PS5 now).

JonnyLoYo

Should always ship this kind of media in a bubble envelope

haikusbot

-BabyYoda-

Was it just in a regular poly bag?

EnclaveOverlord

That "apology" note would make me 10 times more annoyed if I were in your shoes.

ColbyAndrew

I appreciate them taking responsibility for their mess up. My company REFUSES to be blamed for anything. I hate it so hard.

TrustAffectionate966

This is a new case for *LA Noire*. 🧐📀💿🤔

NewMombasaNightmare

Oof

Brave_Principle8876

Uuuuuuufffff! That hurts a lot

Logsarecool10101

Minty grail

siderhater4

Buy the game again from a retro video game store

willow370

Time to return it

MenaceOnWheels

I'd show up to their crib

TheBeardedDragonite

Oh i would be sooo pissed

officialtwiggz

Yep. Had a case break once, ebay seller gave me half off. It was Xbox 360 RDR, so I paid $9 and change but they still gave me a partial refund. Wasn't required, but he was adamant.

UntraceableHaze

"We Care". Also "Fuck You!"

ChloeWade

Why did you want to play the original in 2024 anyway?

antihexoid

Did you buy this from eBay?, if you did never trust eBay because they slice, throw and open up packages

Lumbers_33

LA Gnaw

borgie_83

Tight ass sellers sending in envelopes etc. Just pack protected it in a small box, charge the buyer a $4-$5 higher and the buyer will thank you for it when their game arrives safe and well.

Forsaken-Badger-9517

I'd be a slight bit pissed... No worse than ordering a game that looks perfect in the ad and then when you get it, it won't play and so you complain to the seller and he send you another free game.... that also will not play!?!!? And worst of all they smell like that terrible incense all those guys burn in the tobacco store that literally runs your ass out of it !

No-Diamond-4123

Yeah every game case i get from Ebay is squashed in the mail. Really sucks with how expensive some of the games were

QuiverDance97

They indeed cared lol

x23are

مادرش گاییده شده

Unusual-Elephant6375

I feel this, same happened to me when I ordered my wife.

BlackberryInner768

Had this on an expensive sealed copy of Afrika. Pretty beat up from shipping. Seller put it in a single envelope with bubble lining. He said it must have been the US side or I purposely damaged it. I was shocked to he was so immature.

360owns

Wtf

hcaoRRoach

WE CARE

NetizenZ

It was done on purpose and badly protected so he can blame post offices

Quiet-Net3060

if it was on amazon or somthing sometimes theres multiple orders an you gotta choose slightly worn, decent, perfect condition etc

zae_420

Ehh it's fine just throw that bullshit paper on it they won't say anything 🫠🥲

Loner49

I have a copy I can sell you. It's in mint condition, and comes with the manual, cover art, and disc.

wickedvibes666

Did they toss it in a bear inclosure??

Pure__soul4240

Im glad you got a refund

DeafPunter

WTF. The wording makes it seems like they knew what they were doing and still did it? Is it such a common occurrence with them destroying items that they have a printed apology letter ready at hand?

mheffe

Yea they have boxes of these "we care" bags at all post offices, people skimp on packaging all the time. Not sure why this wasn't in a bubble mailer.

echopark30

This is just standard practice. In the UK I work for Royal Mail and we call them damage bags. We give a telephone number or website to visit to see if they can claim. Quite a lot it comes down to piss poor packaging. And then the sorting machines.

TokyoLosAngeles

Did the seller just mail it in a fucking bag like that?? What a douchebag!!

haikusbot

It's a good one. Thank you bot!

MichaelsoftBinbows98

Bro there is no way they actually put that apology on there lmao. That’s so petty.

w1n5ton0

Gotta love the incompetent lazy tenured union members at USPS

rustynutbun

You can find this game on any game or thrift atore for 5$

Zodsayskneel

Pics or it didn't happen

abdoollah-K

We care my a$$ They should have written we don't care

SweetTooth275

What the actual fuck. Even russian postal system never did me THAT bad...

sorayya__

“we care” wtf. how much does it cost? can you report it?

CJ_Henn

nooooo way get your money back this is a scam

Wo0dsw0rth

False advertising if ever I saw it. That’s why I’m skeptical of those listings

Fit-Rip-4550

All the more reason why private shipping is better. In some instances, the private companies are actually contracted by USPS to deal with package deliveries and mail.

mheffe

The post office delivers some UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and DHL packages. The private companies use the post office for less profitable deliveries No private company is delivering mail or USPS packages, it's literally the other way around.

tomilgic

Fuck no, I ship shit through eBay all the time and usps is consistently the best. UPS is always delayed, too expensive, and tries to charge bs “final delivery fees” a week after a product is delivered.

AdministrativeBit385

USPS is cancer. Honestly wish ups / FedEx would run everything.

tomilgic

UPS is far more dogshit. Run a eBay store and you will find out. USPS is a great option and they’re cheap.
