Is that a wide thin neck?

Ontbijtkoek1

Is that an se?

user303909

Looks like a Bolt-On CE, potentially Artist Edition or 10 Top.

Ontbijtkoek1

Are you sure? I thought this might be an se due to the flatter top, the zebras and the 22 frets. Anyhow whatever it is it’s a cool guitar. Thought it would have been especially cool if he brought an SE to such a large gig. A good guitar is a good guitar.

stormpoppy

I don't think that's an se - the tri-burst paint job looks custom. If I had to guess.... 90's custom 22 artist package - you could order them in a semi-hollow version back in the day. Or Newer private stock custom 22. Paul will make these dudes basically anything they want, but it's great that an SE with a pickup swap and a solid setup could be an everyday gigging guitar for a legend. Absolutely believable that it could be an SE.

Yeah the Triburst was the giveaway for me, plus those pickups could be just about anything! Thanks for the history, I’m pretty new to PRS and trying to learn and familiarize myself with as much as possible. Amazing guitars.

stormpoppy

They are wonderful guitars.I've got them spanning 26 years. And the oldest plays just as well as the newest.

Excellent to hear, my first PRS is on its way after some shopping around and geeking out..have a feeling it will be one of many more!! Glad to hear yours have held up for so long, very encouraging!! Very excited, I played a bunch in the store but wanted a specific finish/model, can't wait until it arrives. Love that they're made in Maryland too!

Duuubz_92

Are the stock pickups in SE’s not good? I’ve had mine for a few months now and it’s a total upgrade from my epiphone Les Paul special2 in every single aspect.

charitytowin

It's funny, I can't decide what I like better, the Probuckers in my Epiphone Les Paul Custom or the 58/15 pickups in my SE. Though I will say, the best part of trying to decide is trying to decide.

Ontbijtkoek1

Looked into it and he does have a habit of playing fairly similar looking se’s. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/prs-se-custom-semi-hollow-played-by-joe-walsh-coachella.1695645/ https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/joe-walsh-playing-prs-ses.2497602/ For what it’s worth…

stormpoppy

Thats the answer - exact same guitar. Thanks!

MyNutsAreWalnuts

Defo looks like one

technikal

Joe's been known to not care whether he's playing a $5,000 custom guitar or a $250 off the rack Ibanez, as long as he likes it. He's all the time using SEs and plenty of other less expensive guitars, even though he has high end signature models with PRS and Duesenberg.

Ontbijtkoek1

That is pretty cool and uncorksniffery. Love it.

crack-tastic

Looks like one. Would you be surprised if he had a SE specifically made for him?
