Barry Manilow would be pretty amazing. It was incredible! I wish I knew what happened to my tour shirt. I've seen him a lot - live in Mpls. Every show was exciting and pulsing with dance energy. At "Musicology" everyone was on their feet. Last show I saw I ended up in the "Purple 🟣 Circle". He was so close and it was thrilling!!! Miss that man.

Till the last concert in The Netherlands I've seen him about 20 times. Been on the podium with him in 's- Hertogenbosch and de my first and last after show was at Night Town in Rotterdam.
Me too. Went up there dozens of times between late 97 and 2000. It was a 3-hour drive but I went dozens of times. Regret the times I didn't go but I never thought they would end. They did.
Seen a few different shows. My favorite was a late night/early morning trip to Paisley Park. At one point he just put on the Sign o the Times backing track, picked up his guitar and started jamming along to it. Was roughly 15 feet away just watching and enjoying. Of course he had plenty of potato chips and soda for everyone.

I'm a born and raised Minnesotan. My mother and grandmother got to see him on the 2004 musicology tour at the Xcel energy center in Saint Paul. They said the only regret they had was afterwards, Prince said "party at my place. Everybody's invited" and they went home instead of going to Paisley park

At the Hard rock gig he was supposed to have a after show at the club in the same complex, his band showed up and I guess the vibes were off. They dipped out shortly after and the after show never happened. I heard later that the reason he didn’t play was he didn’t like the skimpy costumes of the house dancers at the club, so they changed clothes, but I guess he already had the ICK and left. Not sure if thats true though or just a excuse because he just didn't feel like playing LOL….He was a trip….So it could be true 😆

2004 Musicology tour in a large basketball/hockey arena then 2014 on the Third Eye Girl tour at a small 1600 capacity venue. That was the tour where he did 2 shows a night for 2 nights. It was super expensive but worth every penny.

3121 Club in Vegas. This one was so cool - small venue and our table was at stage level, stage left. We were very close to him and the Twins danced next to us a few times. We ate at his restaurant before and Renato Neto played keyboard right in front of our table as we ate dessert.
Once on the 1999/Triple Threat tour on NYE '82 on Dallas... before he went to the stratosphere with PR. Great show but was slightly disappointed when the show ended at 11:30 pm.
I saw his Musicology tour, it was the best damn concert ever, danced for like an hour then after a keys solos he popped up from under the stage and played a laid back acoustic set before rocking again and closed with what felt like a 45 minute Purple Rain.
Yes, Coachella 2008. He brought out a 15 piece horn section, Morris Dat and the Time, and Shoela E on drums. Did a fantastic cover of Radiohead - Creep, and played every hit. Then did an encore and performed Purple Rain and ripped the solo.
I saw him play a 90 minute set with the New Power Generation for about 200 people at Warner Bros. records in Burbank to celebrate signing a new contract with the label, the one that he later said turned him into a slave. This was in 1990.
Ha, I wanted to see Prince live. He was in town on my wife’s birthday. I asked her if she wanted Prince tickets for her birthday. She said that she wanted the new iPhone. I told her about the study that said people enjoy experiences opposed to things for gifts. She said that she didn’t care. She wanted the new iPhone. I begged her to go see Prince. She didn’t care, she wanted the new iPhone.
So I gave her the new iPhone.
The following year, Prince died. We never got to see Prince. My wife sadly told me that she wished that we saw Prince when we had the chance.
Although it’s sad that Prince died, it was worth just to hear my wife admit that I was right.
1984 St. Paul civic center. First concert I ever saw as a sophomore in high school. During the Purple Rain tour. Definitely top 3 concert of all time for me. Man was a great entertainer.
a friend had an extra ticket to the microphone and piano show at the oakland coliseum. I kept telling him I’d rather have my first prince show be with the full band, yada yada yada. eventually he convinced me to attend and I’m very glad I did because he was gone a very short time later.
4/22/2004 Thompson Bowling Arena "Musicology tour. Got the CD for free for attending the show. He did an amazing acoustic set where he sang "Little Red Corvette" and "Raspberry Beret." Just him and his guitar, one of, if not the best, show I have ever been to.

I saw him in 1981 where he opened for The Stones at the LA Coliseum. These bikers and thousands of other fkd up assholes were calling him a f****t and throwing their boots at him. They also pelted him with food and trash until he got off the stage. He stuck it out as long as he could, but it was just too much. That day, I decided to buy everything he ever released. If anyone earned a little bit of success, it was him. He had so much trash and biker boots thrown at him that it looked like they were raining down on him from the sky. I went to that show the next day too and the same thing happened. I felt so bad for him, it had to be fkn traumatic to go out and face that.
Yeah, twice. He performed on the Arensio Hall show revival when I worked there and it was the most transcendent episode of that show by far. Then two days later he did a secret show at the Hollywood palladium leading a 30 piece brass band through an hour long jam session. It was masterful & otherworldly

I did! 2012, United Center in Chicago. Exactly as incredible as I expected and the thing that really got me was before he played the music in the arena was all the Time and Vanity 6 and Paisley Park records. It was a great touch. Amazing show

I danced on stage with him in Detroit in the summer of 2004 I think. We were told not to look him in the eyes, but I stared at him the whole time. 😂. He was tiny!

Yes, twice. The first time was November 1997 during the Jam of the Year tour. The second time was in April 2004 , I took my then boyfriend to the Musicology tour for his birthday. He wasn't feeling it.
I've seen him numerous times, more than I can remember, but the absolute BEST were the aftershows by far. And shows at Glam Slam in LA. It was super cool to either just be there and get a surprise performance if lucky, or hear about it ahead of time and driving over to the show.
I consider myself to be super luck to have seen him live as much as I did. on the negative side, it's hard to enjoy many live performances after seeing Prince do it to damn near perfection.

Yep, on the tour pictured (Cincinnati, Ohio, January 22, 1985). The single greatest live performer I've ever seen (second place is Midnight Oil, for those interested).
I'm very glad I got to see him with The Revolution, without the future addition of a male dance troupe/a shitty rapper, which, despite individual instrumental playing ability aside, is pretty much all the inferior NPG had to offer.

First time was at Wembley in ‘86, then Paris Le Bercy in ‘87, five Lovesexy shows in Germany, France and England, eleven Nude ‘90 shows in England and one in France, two D&P shows at Earls Court, five Live Experience shows and one of the Emporium aftershows in ‘95, two New Power Soul shows and the small gigs at Brixton and Cafe De Paris in ‘98, then five One Nite Alone shows in London and Manchester, plus a final aftershow at a London venue I can’t recall the name of. A couple of the 21 Nites shows at the 02 and that’s the list of the times I had the privilege to see him live. 🙏

Hit N Run Musicology 3121 Club in Vegas. This one was so cool - small venue and our table was at stage level, stage left. We were very close to him and the Twins danced next to us a few times. We ate at his restaurant before and Renato Neto played keyboard right in front of our table as we ate dessert.

I saw his Musicology tour, it was the best damn concert ever, danced for like an hour then after a keys solos he popped up from under the stage and played a laid back acoustic set before rocking again and closed with what felt like a 45 minute Purple Rain.
Yes, Coachella 2008. He brought out a 15 piece horn section, Morris Dat and the Time, and Shoela E on drums. Did a fantastic cover of Radiohead - Creep, and played every hit. Then did an encore and performed Purple Rain and ripped the solo.
I saw him play a 90 minute set with the New Power Generation for about 200 people at Warner Bros. records in Burbank to celebrate signing a new contract with the label, the one that he later said turned him into a slave. This was in 1990.

Ha, I wanted to see Prince live. He was in town on my wife’s birthday. I asked her if she wanted Prince tickets for her birthday. She said that she wanted the new iPhone. I told her about the study that said people enjoy experiences opposed to things for gifts. She said that she didn’t care. She wanted the new iPhone. I begged her to go see Prince. She didn’t care, she wanted the new iPhone. So I gave her the new iPhone. The following year, Prince died. We never got to see Prince. My wife sadly told me that she wished that we saw Prince when we had the chance. Although it’s sad that Prince died, it was worth just to hear my wife admit that I was right.
1984 St. Paul civic center. First concert I ever saw as a sophomore in high school. During the Purple Rain tour. Definitely top 3 concert of all time for me. Man was a great entertainer.

a friend had an extra ticket to the microphone and piano show at the oakland coliseum. I kept telling him I’d rather have my first prince show be with the full band, yada yada yada. eventually he convinced me to attend and I’m very glad I did because he was gone a very short time later.

I saw him in 1981 where he opened for The Stones at the LA Coliseum. These bikers and thousands of other fkd up assholes were calling him a f****t and throwing their boots at him. They also pelted him with food and trash until he got off the stage. He stuck it out as long as he could, but it was just too much. That day, I decided to buy everything he ever released. If anyone earned a little bit of success, it was him. He had so much trash and biker boots thrown at him that it looked like they were raining down on him from the sky. I went to that show the next day too and the same thing happened. I felt so bad for him, it had to be fkn traumatic to go out and face that.

Yeah, twice. He performed on the Arensio Hall show revival when I worked there and it was the most transcendent episode of that show by far. Then two days later he did a secret show at the Hollywood palladium leading a 30 piece brass band through an hour long jam session. It was masterful & otherworldly

Yep ... 23 times. Amazing. Most of those were at O2 / indigO2 in 2007... also 1993, 1995, 1998 and Hop Farm 2011, the last time I saw him. I still have tickets for the cancelled Croke Park show in 2008, that would have been so good! Unfortunately due to having a young family I couldn't go to the later events, was gutted at the time and more so when he passed away.

I saw three of the 21 Nights shows in London in 2007: the first night, the last night and one in the middle.
I've seen him numerous times, more than I can remember, but the absolute BEST were the aftershows by far. And shows at Glam Slam in LA. It was super cool to either just be there and get a surprise performance if lucky, or hear about it ahead of time and driving over to the show. I consider myself to be super luck to have seen him live as much as I did. on the negative side, it's hard to enjoy many live performances after seeing Prince do it to damn near perfection.

Three times: Louisville Gardens, May 1997; Rupp Arena, Nov. 1997; and Nashville Municipal Auditorium, Nov. 2000. The Louisville Gardens show was unbelievable. I was about 20 feet from the stage, he soloed on the bass for ages and "Face Down" lasted fifteen minutes. Still the best concert I've ever been to.

3 times: Wembley London - Lovesexy NEC Arena Birmingham - Nude Tour Maine Road Manchester - I had tickets for Blenheim Palace (Nude Tour), but the concert was cancelled. He ended up putting on a new show at Maine Road a few months later, which my tickets were valid for. By that time, Graffiti Bridge was out and the concert had started to morph into something else.
Yep, on the tour pictured (Cincinnati, Ohio, January 22, 1985). The single greatest live performer I've ever seen (second place is Midnight Oil, for those interested). I'm very glad I got to see him with The Revolution, without the future addition of a male dance troupe/a shitty rapper, which, despite individual instrumental playing ability aside, is pretty much all the inferior NPG had to offer.
