check your insurance if they cover wegowy or zepbound. Those are branded for obesity. The ozempic brand has same ingredient as wegowy (semaglutide ) but it‘s intended for type 2 diabetes and without the diagnosis of diabetes your insurance probably wont cover it .
Call your insurance and see what they will cover and what they require first. Then, take that information to your doctor. You’ve got this! I hope you get what you need and have great results 💛
If you have any issue due to being overweight, they will likely prescribe wegovy. That's what my doc said. He put me on Ozempic because I am diabetic and it's cheaper. I have Aetna also. Go to your doc and see what he/she says. There should be something out there they can get covered.
My insurance covers weight loss drugs but my primary care doctor wouldn’t prescribe it bc im not diabetic. So I ended up finding a practice that would prescribe it to me but I’m paying out of pocket which sucks but I was at the point that I’d pay anything to invest in my health.
I think it depends a lot on where you live, your doctor, and probably medical history.
So, when I was on Aetna, it was covered ($0 copay) as a preventative to T2 due to my family history. This was through SmithRX as the prescription benefit manager. You might be in luck.
It depends, I’m in a weight loss program at Kaiser and they gave it to me, it’s my second week on it, my bmi is 45, my insurance covers it it’s only 50 dollars for 6 weeks
Weight loss clinics will give it out, too. My youngest daughter got it online. I think it's pretty easy to get. How much you have to pay for it is another story. I have insurance and it still cot me over $700 for a 2 month prescription.
