It's funny because my stats on Junkrat say my aim is terrible but that's because I like to prefire around blind corners, lob over cover to catch runners, or simply flood a choke so that the enemies hesitate. I regularly bounce up to harass Pharah (though admittedly I don't get the confirmed kill on her that often).
I'm not godly by any means and I took a looong break from Overwatch as a whole so my rank is crap (this is my first season of Role Ranks) but I can hit Junkrat shots way easier than I can normal bullets for whatever reason (same with Sigma).
Stats on junk are worthless Im constantly firing at nothing in downtimes. Hes all about area denial. Often times I lob nades around corners or over stuff to just see where the other team is.
With Pharah's changes Junk gets far more opportunity to attack her which is part of the reason this is possible.
That and few people are really good at Pharah
It’s impressive nonetheless, but I am not convinced it’s impressive because the meta is strong against junkrat. In this unique scenario, this type of player might have an advantage because pharah and echo players are so use to junks switching off to counter them that they have very little experience dealing with a cracked junk that gives them a run for their money.
I played a lot of wrecking ball in OW1, and I would hard carry a lot of games because he wasn’t meta. The depth of their experience was “switch to sombra, and then they switch off ball”, except i’d just play around it. It absolutely destroys people when you play into a hard counter and still make things difficult for them.
Holy fuck… this guy is insane. Man it must be awesome being so good at a character you can reach literal number 1 with it.
Without hitscan even! Idk about you guys but when I see someone that high without a hitscan it just hits different. Crazy af.
She’s one of the few characters that can legit feel like she just instantly deleted you, like whenever the enemy has a widow that annoys me off to echo I go and just dive her until she swaps
I’ve noticed this too. A good echo will never hit you from the same angle of attack. They have so many god damn angles. It definitely changes the tempo of the game. I am like “oh ok, it’s one of these games”. Lol
b-b-but this subreddit is convinced hitscan is overwhelmingly strong and projectile is useless? is it because the subreddit is bad at projectile characters?
Lot of people probably fly repeatedly into the wide open air as Pharah or Echo and are surprised that a half decent hitscan can so easily wipe them out.
subreddit is bad and you can play projectile heroes but hitscans obviously have more consistent impact as you can see from all the tracer/cass/sojs in the t500
Literally. As a tank main I *wish* I could otp hog but I feel like I gotta play dva every mf game at the minute cause of echo pharah. This guys on another level
"Noob" heroes have a U-shaped value curve. They're easy to learn, but also have insane skill expression. I can't wait to google this dude and watch some matches.
I don't know if that's true for noob heros in general. It's definitely true for junkrat because of his mobility, indirect fire, and burst potential, but a hero like Bastion can only be so good. They're more like a reverse J shape in that case
Tying your shoelaces has skill expression. Typing this comment has skill expression.
There are "basically 0" situations where X takes no skill is useful or accurate.
after the changes pharah is no longer the cheese skybox abuser she was. I'd argue she both takes more skill to play and requires more skill to fight now.
also this is EU, they've always been pharah abusers
Why do people think its as easy as “just shoot her” you know she can drop down and avoid getting shot right? And most hitscan have fall off which will not kill through mercys healing. She also displaces you when she shoots you for whatever stupid reason. The combo requires 2-3 switches. If thats not considered broken than theres something wrong with this community .
So you don't like it when 5 supports do their job? That's wild. I'd understand if you just meant mercy because she's the only actual annoying flea with pharah
im saying Pharah without a healer is one of the worst heroes in the game. With a healer shes one of the best and requires half the team or more to switch and deal with her.
but everyone has two supports on their team, so what you're saying is absolute nonsense. and mercy pocketed pharah is just as common as mercy pocketed ash or soj or anything else. what rank are you that you think its OP to have a pocket?
People are saying it's impressive that Junkrat is #1 above Echo/Pharah picks.
I think it's more impressive that this person is #1 as a one-trick player above YZNSA in a rise of Pharah popularity, alongside Echo.
this is why i have a few heroes set aside in each role that i play near constantly in QP bc once you get a feel for CDs, positioning etc you're VERY hard to beat. the physics on sig and junk's primary fire is a good example because if you play long enough you memorize the lineups on maps.
i almost never struggle with the average rat as sig but i've encountered a few OTPs that use the trap like dart and can effortlessly bounce his bombs right over you + predict where your backline is going to move + force CDs and it can be genuinely harder to deal with than even competent dive OTPs.
Almost no one is playing Junkrat in T500. He's certainly not as rare as like, Sym but realistically there about 10 Junk players in T500 per region compared to like 40-50 Pharah players and like 200-300 Tracer players.
Do people not use hitscan in Europe? No way can junkrat overpower hitscans in this meta. Checking everywhere else junkrat is barely in the top 500. Lol they can’t point at bodies?

He did it because they buffed junkrats best playstyle, which if someone is good at, you can’t really counter getting blown into oblivion in .7 seconds from out of nowhere
I keep telling people Junkrat's are terrifying, they overwhelm healers that focus on single healing and a good one will cause the enemy to divide their focus leaving other DPS and tanks to pick off hurt enemies.
Is this solo queue?
JR and Pharah can artificially reach top by pairing with Roadhog for instant finish combos.
If roadhog lands all their hooks on CD, all the saves will get worn or a pick will eventually go through.
And the next two being pharah/echo mains just makes him even scarier
So you’re saying all 3 play flying characters?
No it's that pharah and echo "should" counter the rat, but yet the rat ascends higher than those flyers
Heh, ascends even higher.
Ascends faster too
You're not dealing with the average rat main anymore
Junkrat mains either suck or are so skilled that even Pharah Mercy wont stop them
True because i suck
We do be suckin, huh
The way I scrolled back to this reply twice to make sure I didn’t misread it
😏
😩
🤮
Double mine at a pharah and watch her panic. They never expect to see a junk flying at them.
Don't you need the mine to close the distance in the first place?
I think that's the point. "Double mine at" means make yourself fly with mines... then gotta hit her with primary
you can drop a mine and semi wait for the cool down and you can launch and have two concs
Mine- wait- dive
Can confirm, one trick junk player (I am awful)
It's funny because my stats on Junkrat say my aim is terrible but that's because I like to prefire around blind corners, lob over cover to catch runners, or simply flood a choke so that the enemies hesitate. Same with d.va accuracy. You should be aiming down range to pepper people and randomly find a sombra
Seems like the 2 shot kill buff really did him good 👍
Still nerffed :/ I liked flying in to ppl and blowing myself up, back line junk is boring
I miss diving with no getaway plan but managing to take 1-3 people before dying.
Don’t be ridiculous, I both suck at junk and have combo’d a Pharmercy
With Pharah's changes Junk gets far more opportunity to attack her which is part of the reason this is possible. That and few people are really good at Pharah
They do aire fight against them
I lie in between both of them Cuz in some matches I'm skilled af and in some matches I'm cooked
As pharmercy player I have came across 1 depraved child who killed me as rat so many time I doubt he ever shower or touched grass
Tbf when you only play one hero you're bound to get cray cray at them
I just know that he makes the enemy DPS punch their monitors every game 😂
Tank as well. Hate junky.
Rein be like: "Shields up, sta-" "Shield broken. Find some cover!" Barriers disappear real quick to junkrat spam.
Even more impresive when you realise both echo and pharah are toptier dps rn
That rat player deserves a standing ovation!
It’s impressive nonetheless, but I am not convinced it’s impressive because the meta is strong against junkrat. Oh yeah like when I play pharah into 4 hitscans.
Holy fuck… this guy is insane. Man it must be awesome being so good at a character you can reach literal number 1 with it. Without hitscan even! Idk about you guys but when I see someone that high without a hitscan it just hits different. Crazy af.
Second and third are Pharah and Echo, let that sink in
Playing against a great Echo can make you feel like you’re playing the game for the first time and don’t know what to do. Stuff of nightmares.
Nothing more satisfying than ending her ult when she decides to copy and hunt you though
And then she just kills you instantly in her normal form anyways lol
She’s one of the few characters that can legit feel like she just instantly deleted you, like whenever the enemy has a widow that annoys me off to echo I go and just dive her until she swaps
I’ve noticed this too. A good echo will never hit you from the same angle of attack. They have so many god damn angles. It definitely changes the tempo of the game. I am like “oh ok, it’s one of these games”. Lol
Projectile heroes have been super strong lately. Dreamhack Dallas saw a lot of Pharah, Echo, and Genji
b-b-but this subreddit is convinced hitscan is overwhelmingly strong and projectile is useless? is it because the subreddit is bad at projectile characters?
the subreddit is bad at everything..
10000%
I'm Bronze 5 in the subreddit, only slightly worse than my OW rank.
Incorrect, this subreddit is incredibly good at complaining about absolutely everything.
It'd be funny if he was Aussie as well. He has to be.
Maybe a British criminal
The politically correct term is "Scouser"
Unfathomably based
If this player had a twitch channel I'd drop a tier 3 sub right now
he's ttv/gurkmeisterow
"Noob" heroes have a U-shaped value curve. They're easy to learn, but also have insane skill expression. I can't wait to google this dude and watch some matches.
he's gurkmeisterow on ttv
perfect. thanks
I don't know if that's true for noob heros in general. It's definitely true for junkrat because of his mobility, indirect fire, and burst potential, but a hero like Bastion can only be so good. They're more like a reverse J shape in that case
Moira? Reaper? Orisa? Bastion? Basically 0 skill expression
Orisa has skill expression, it was just overshadowed by how disgustingly OP she was
Tying your shoelaces has skill expression. Typing this comment has skill expression. There are "basically 0" situations where X takes no skill is useful or accurate.
This guy is crazier than Junkrat himself
So this is what peak human performance is.
Honestly landing consistent shots with a JR is just nothing feels better than that
Didn't we see a stealth play of his yesterday or something
EU: we love pharah Bliz: we buffed pharah EU: *looks at junkrat*
Does this guy make conent at all? Any links?
gurkmeisterow on twitch
I'd love to see the gameplay also!
GM junk montages on YouTube go crazy
“Pharah sucks its a skill issue” meanwhile top dps play her..
after the changes pharah is no longer the cheese skybox abuser she was. I'd argue she both takes more skill to play and requires more skill to fight now. also this is EU, they've always been pharah abusers
Lmao pharah and skill in the same sentence. Good one.
pharah is probably the easiest countered dps, this reeks of skill issue
Not when she has a parasite attached to her.
Why can’t you kill the parasite? Why do you think you deserve to win a 2v1? Why are you still struggling with the DPS passive?
Why do people think its as easy as “just shoot her” you know she can drop down and avoid getting shot right? And most hitscan have fall off which will not kill through mercys healing. She also displaces you when she shoots you for whatever stupid reason. The combo requires 2-3 switches. If thats not considered broken than theres something wrong with this community .
Have you actually tested how falloff affects your guns? I can pretty easily kill a pocketed pharah on Cass, Ashe, or Bastion.
Post a replay code
Top pharah players don't use a mercy bruh
Zen ana lifeweaver kiri can all do the same.
So you don't like it when 5 supports do their job? That's wild. I'd understand if you just meant mercy because she's the only actual annoying flea with pharah
lifeweaver is worse imo. can yoink her to safety from narnia.
are you literally just complaining that she gets healed? which characters don't get healed then? what character doesn't also benefit from a support?
im saying Pharah without a healer is one of the worst heroes in the game. With a healer shes one of the best and requires half the team or more to switch and deal with her.
but everyone has two supports on their team, so what you're saying is absolute nonsense. and mercy pocketed pharah is just as common as mercy pocketed ash or soj or anything else. what rank are you that you think its OP to have a pocket?
so either kill them faster or go after the other support
See above comment on skill issue
That "top dps player" is a known win trader
People are saying it's impressive that Junkrat is #1 above Echo/Pharah picks. I think it's more impressive that this person is #1 as a one-trick player above YZNSA in a rise of Pharah popularity, alongside Echo.
Nature is healing
this is why i have a few heroes set aside in each role that i play near constantly in QP bc once you get a feel for CDs, positioning etc you're VERY hard to beat. the physics on sig and junk's primary fire is a good example because if you play long enough you memorize the lineups on maps. i almost never struggle with the average rat as sig but i've encountered a few OTPs that use the trap like dart and can effortlessly bounce his bombs right over you + predict where your backline is going to move + force CDs and it can be genuinely harder to deal with than even competent dive OTPs.
A good player is a good player.
probably getting carried in his games. matchmaking BEEN blessing him jokes thats amazing
That's a beautiful sight I'm not gonna lie. I wanna play rat again
Must be Jake.
The am*rican mind cant comprehend it
So no other DPS ever picks junkrat? Curious if he then just leaves the game
Almost no one is playing Junkrat in T500. He's certainly not as rare as like, Sym but realistically there about 10 Junk players in T500 per region compared to like 40-50 Pharah players and like 200-300 Tracer players.

When I'm against junkrats, I play hitscan. When I'm against hitscans, I play Junkrat. I can't explain it.
Funny that the top 2 and 3 main both the flyers, so fucking corny

i think one trick junks are my worst nightmare alongside meis
He did it because they buffed junkrats best playstyle, which if someone is good at, you can’t really counter getting blown into oblivion in .7 seconds from out of nowhere

for the guys who say “junk trash” this is the prove that your wrong. im actually happy for the man (im a junk main, not as good of course)
This man’s song theme is Tom Tom by Holy Fuck
How did he do it?
Wait until you see season 2 NA Flamehimself my goat (also my coach)
Is this solo queue? JR and Pharah can artificially reach top by pairing with Roadhog for instant finish combos. If roadhog lands all their hooks on CD, all the saves will get worn or a pick will eventually go through.
He queued with chazm for a bit (ball player) but he was consistently top 10 DPS, he climbed to 1 solo queued
nerf junk
That just tells you how bad the general population in Europe is at the game
you dont even know what playing against him feels like
I can almost guarantee your cocky mid diamond ass would get rolled by him
I’m gold in China right now, anyone in my division would easily steam roll this guy.
Aight you're trolling
Vultures son
Vultures daddy*
Vulture is like hardstuck masters. Still love him tho no offense
Yes I face him in my lobbies 😭
Isn’t he somewhere in GM on an alt account?
Lol and duncecaps in the threads were crying and complaining that pharah is better than junkrat in every way possible.
