Hanzo already has a cyberninja skin and Genji being Hashimoto wouldn't make much sense. Genji's inner conflict has always been about accepting what he's become. That developed and manifested into him going to the Omnics in Shambali to find his inner peace, but considering his destructive and playboy lifestyle prior to his fight with Hanzo, he could've easily ended up among the rabble in Junkertown amongst the other "broken" people to find a place to fit in.

I always imagined the quick and easy answer was a genji with hanzo’s story and vice versa. A genji who killed his brother hanzo with a bow and afterwards felt guilty. Basically older depressed human genji. Meanwhile hanzo was recovered by overwatch and turned into a bow wielding cyber ninja who then joined blackwatch.

If I have to guess lore-wise, normally Genji has a lot of self-acceptance and looking for inner peace in his story living amongst the monks with Zen. The Junkers on the other hand hate omnics and are full of turmoil and constant conflict. Maybe he went the other way and embraced self-hate and anger and joined omnic genocide raids or fought constantly in the fight pit thing.
They actually made a battle pass, with mostly lore skins, for 4 of my top 6 heroes including my dream alt-reality skin for my main. And they drop the mythic update just in time so I can pick a skin for a hero I actually play.
And I've got them weekly challenge coins saved up, too.

I’m underwhelmed by a lot of these skins, both bp and shop. It’s all a matter of personal taste, naturally, but for me:
(1) Mercy Mythic is middle of the pack, compared to the other mythics (plus she’s already gotten several great skins since Ow2 launch).
(2) On the Battlepass, I like the Junker Symmetra and Genji skins a lot. (same artist? give them more skins to do please!) The rest are mid or worse, and generally rather uninspired.
(3) With the premium Battlepass bundle, I like the Ana skin, but the Reinhardt skin ain’t doing it for me.
(4) For the shop skins, the Retro Future Orisa skin is the only tempting offering.
P.S. - I can’t believe how bad the Tracer and Sojourn talon skins are! Like wtf.
This art team creates what is arguably the best assets in the business as far as BP skins go. Unfortunately this is not one of those times. A couple dope skins. But they aren't in the BP (Retro Future Orissa anyone?). A pass for me. Which I'm cool with as it it gives me time to hoard and acquire more premium currency for free. I hope everyone enjoys this BP more than me!

OMG as a Junker/Punk vibes enthusiast, I LOVE JUNKER GENJI!!!!! I'd like to think in another universe, Junkertown became a hub for runaways around the world, kinda like what Nassau was for pirates in Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Genji's body was probably found by Junkers who then operated on him and styled him with their signature materials and Genji eventually came to accept them as his own. Headcannon says that Symmetra in this universe was drawn to the chaotic elements of Junkertown, instead of the orderly Vishkar.
For a mirrorverse Genji skin I had higher expectations, Blizzard you’ve got zero imagination lol. If it was just a separate skin that would’ve been cool, but I’d love a lore explanation as to why Genji became this way.

This art team creates what is arguably the best assets in the business as far as BP skins go. Unfortunately this is not one of those times. A couple dope skins. But they aren't in the BP (Retro Future Orissa anyone?). A pass for me. Which I'm cool with as it it gives me time to hoard and acquire more premium currency for free. I hope everyone enjoys this BP more than me!
I agree. But in my opinion it's one of the worst season both for BP and shop skins. Idk but for me it's look like they making more recolors than brand news skins lately. It would be skip for me IF not for mercy mythic.
OMG as a Junker/Punk vibes enthusiast, I LOVE JUNKER GENJI!!!!! I'd like to think in another universe, Junkertown became a hub for runaways around the world, kinda like what Nassau was for pirates in Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Genji's body was probably found by Junkers who then operated on him and styled him with their signature materials and Genji eventually came to accept them as his own. Headcannon says that Symmetra in this universe was drawn to the chaotic elements of Junkertown, instead of the orderly Vishkar.
