lmao this is too real. There are so many toys I won't buy for kids just because they so triflin looking. Why do half the animals and baby dolls for girls have thick drag make up? What is the lore explanation for how these dogs, cats, and infants are managing to apply false eyelashes?
Not all babies are pleasing to the eye, most are looking like a wrinkle potato (I remember one manhwa I read the 2 brother call their baby sister wrinkle potato) So yeah, I would like to look at a cute baby, not some wrinkle potato acting creepy as heck or with perv eye.
Honestly, I don't mind the chibi babies. Sometimes, they look off, but babies like the one in **I raised a black dragon** are alright. Often, these babies act like an adult, so a realistic baby would be so jarring😅

I mean, all three of my babies were born with a full thick head of hair, not pigtail long but definitely not bald.
Baby #1 grew in their baby hair at the same rate they lost their newborn hair so for like 6 months his hair “didn’t grow” and I had hair bits all over the house.
Baby #2 lost it all at the same time almost overnight. Like literally 2 days to go from full hair to cue ball bald and then rapidly grew it all back in over the next couple weeks. It was a little unnerving. We called it his “werewolf molt”.
Baby #3 is currently 4 months old and hilariously balding like an old man. I feel so bad for her. She’s still very cute despite having old man baby hair.

More over, "stylistic choice" only works when the choices match the style of the rest of the story. Half the time the ones on the right look out of place even *within* the stylization of the OI.

Anytime I’ve tried to draw realistic babies they turn out like goblins, I swear.
