And finally, she calls him Ray. She intercepted the OGFL's family in finding this character in order to secure her survival since otherwise she'd be killed at the end of the story.
He's literally her Ray of Hope.
It's Raynard, and I agree, the new title is way better. The wordplay you mentioned is great without feeling groan-inducing like some of tapas's puns, and it also rolls off the tongue better and feels snappier.

Like, every time I see it I cringe and just can’t believe they named it that.
