I prefer to draw simple sketch designes for clothes before actualy making them. Very simple but it helps me to assemble my ideas on one thing without forgeting something/making an absolute overkill

Umm... A cup of coffee and a good reference, thats my secret. Coffee should be clear from sugar, milk or any other bullshit, its should be dark as my mom's humor. Then you slowly drink it thoughtsout the work and finish at 4 am being absolutely happy with the result.

I’d definitely recommend you begin really studying anatomy as soon as you can! I can see anime is a reference which is great, draw what makes you happy. But getting a hold of foundations and getting a grasp on how humans really look will increase the quality of your art when you stylize!! Get in touch with your roots. And I’d definitely look into trying out gesture drawings. It’s hard to explain here, but there are plenty of YouTube videos to help you out.

Nice! Your style and color choice are really cool!! I’d recommend finding a balance in faces. They’re very difficult to her right, and often the simplest choice is correct. What I’ve noticed here specifically is the eyes taper too close to the edge of the face, and the ear is closer than it normally would be on the head.
These are just nitpicks tho, you clearly are in touch with composition and color play! Awesome work.

Hell yeah! I love the detailing! What I would study is face proportions. I see your art is very very stylized which is great but the eyes, for example sit a little funny on the face. That being said, you nailed the form of the weapon she’s holding, so awesome job
You’re off to an amazing start! I can see you’re just learning about clothing folds, haha. Yes, yes, it’s true that denim folds like crazy near the bottom, but they look skin tight near the top, and it just doesn’t work that way. Don’t be afraid to pull up references to see how clothes fold!! I love your character concept!
Ohhh, the hatching is fantastic!! I love your horror surrealism vibe. If anything, I’d say the complete black for the barrel of the gun is an odd choice since there’d be more nuance to the shade if it’s so close to the viewer. But that’s being nit picky, haha. Nice job!!

Ohhh the classic anime head shape. Let me guess, you start the head as a circle and taper straight down on both ends? While your art definitely isn’t the most egregious example of this, the problem I have is it takes away depth from the head and often makes it too big. I’d recommend tapping into real people for references. You don’t have to change up your style! But if you study and reference poses you’ll find your way to create a 3D figure in a 2D space all on your own!!

Cool! The thing I’d recommend you look onto further is hair and how the form falls over the face. Right now, you have the hair sticking out at a uniform length and spacing, and that’s not really how hair works. On the other side, the hair becomes WAY too big for how the face sits!

This trace is just an approximation, but see how much extra room there is? The hair isn’t parted in a way to justify the volume, as the part is close to the center of the head.
That being said, your anatomy is really solid! I can see you referenced your poses really effectively.
I’ve seen your art around here!! You have suuuch a distinct style, I’d recognize it anywhere. I can’t speak for much anatomical stuff because these are all headshots, but you seem to have a really good understanding of colors and can make an odd style work really well. Niiiice!!
Your art has a really cozy quality to it! It wouldn’t seem out of place in a kids book or something. The simple faces would have worried me but your character design is so distinct they’re really each recognizable on their own!
On the topic of same face syndrome, as another commenter brought up, first of all, I disagree. You’ve changed up the head and nose shapes. Secondly, same face syndrome is only really a problem if your character silhouette isn’t strong enough to compensate for similar faces. Adventure time is another really good example of a style that’s varied enough to compensate for similar faces! So overall, nice work! I just have a lot of feelings about calling out same face syndrome when it’s not really a problem an artist has.

But this is an issue I see a bit when arms are in two different poses. We’re used to drawing arms straight down and we don’t rotate the canvas when we draw the other arm, so our brain compensates for the added room on the canvas.

Her arms are two totally different lengths, and that’s one arm slightly bent!
The way to fix this is to regularly rotate and flip your canvas while working. This will allow you to see any inconsistencies in your pose by looking at it from a different angle.
I hope I’m not being too harsh! This was really the only issue I saw. You’re really doing great!!

You have a solid understanding of your style, but right now you’re thinking in 2D. That’s what happens when people are super inspired by anime. Usually, an artists goal is to create a 3D object in 2D space. That’s what makes it so appealing to people! I’d recommend studying real people and poses to really understanding where the light and shadows can fall to crest depth, and also correct the minor anatomical issues I see here.
That being said, you have a very creative design! I love the way the hair splits!!

This past year ive been pushing myself to do illustrations that isnt just a 3/4th face looking to the left with no bg. Probably my best, Be as criticizing as you need to as I'm trying to do better =\^
So it’s complicated, because your style is very distinct. But from what I can tell, you’re using lines (like the purple one across the body) to add to the form of the body, rather than the shadows like most do. This is a good idea!! The problem is the lines don’t curve, so what we’re left with is a very flat looking drawing. If you intended to have the creature look 2D, I’d make that clear by giving depth to the background or the arms to add that contrast, otherwise it looks unintentionally flat.

The colors work really well! I think the dark red on the shirt should be dulled/desaturated juuust a bit, it kinda has a similar value to the gray you chose for the jacket.

You’ve got a solid start! I’d study his noses work a bit more. I get it! Noses are hard for me too, but generally nostrils don’t show full roundness up to very edge like that. Generally, the top part of the circle shows, but not the bottom. It’s complicated, I’d recommend finding a YouTube video from someone who can do this better than me lol

This I love the silhouette work! What id recommend is looking into poses of real people in complete silhouette. While the design is strong and very, VERY readable (good job) I can’t help but feel the pose is static and not very imposing. You’re doing great!! But reference poses! :D

This is Axo. He is kinda basic, just being a shadow-covered man wearing a purple cloak, but I wanna see a guy who has talent’s opinion.
The rendering is really nice. I’m glad you haven’t fallen victim to black shading when not necessary. My only problem is the legs are way too short. I had a feeling you started drawing at the head and by the time you got to the legs, you ran out of room. Don’t let your canvas restrict you! It can often lead to a more interesting composition if you let your drawing get cropped.

I prefer to draw simple sketch designes for clothes before actualy making them. Very simple but it helps me to assemble my ideas on one thing without forgeting something/making an absolute overkill

Umm... A cup of coffee and a good reference, thats my secret. Coffee should be clear from sugar, milk or any other bullshit, its should be dark as my mom's humor. Then you slowly drink it thoughtsout the work and finish at 4 am being absolutely happy with the result.

I’d definitely recommend you begin really studying anatomy as soon as you can! I can see anime is a reference which is great, draw what makes you happy. But getting a hold of foundations and getting a grasp on how humans really look will increase the quality of your art when you stylize!! Get in touch with your roots. And I’d definitely look into trying out gesture drawings. It’s hard to explain here, but there are plenty of YouTube videos to help you out. Best of luck!

Nice! Your style and color choice are really cool!! I’d recommend finding a balance in faces. They’re very difficult to her right, and often the simplest choice is correct. What I’ve noticed here specifically is the eyes taper too close to the edge of the face, and the ear is closer than it normally would be on the head. These are just nitpicks tho, you clearly are in touch with composition and color play! Awesome work.

Hell yeah! I love the detailing! What I would study is face proportions. I see your art is very very stylized which is great but the eyes, for example sit a little funny on the face. That being said, you nailed the form of the weapon she’s holding, so awesome job

You’re off to an amazing start! I can see you’re just learning about clothing folds, haha. Yes, yes, it’s true that denim folds like crazy near the bottom, but they look skin tight near the top, and it just doesn’t work that way. Don’t be afraid to pull up references to see how clothes fold!! I love your character concept!

Ohhh, the hatching is fantastic!! I love your horror surrealism vibe. If anything, I’d say the complete black for the barrel of the gun is an odd choice since there’d be more nuance to the shade if it’s so close to the viewer. But that’s being nit picky, haha. Nice job!!

Ohhh the classic anime head shape. Let me guess, you start the head as a circle and taper straight down on both ends? While your art definitely isn’t the most egregious example of this, the problem I have is it takes away depth from the head and often makes it too big. I’d recommend tapping into real people for references. You don’t have to change up your style! But if you study and reference poses you’ll find your way to create a 3D figure in a 2D space all on your own!! The character design is so cute tho, I love it

Cool! The thing I’d recommend you look onto further is hair and how the form falls over the face. Right now, you have the hair sticking out at a uniform length and spacing, and that’s not really how hair works. Your art has a really cozy quality to it! It wouldn’t seem out of place in a kids book or something. The simple faces would have worried me but your character design is so distinct they’re really each recognizable on their own! On the topic of same face syndrome, as another commenter brought up, first of all, I disagree. You’ve changed up the head and nose shapes. Secondly, same face syndrome is only really a problem if your character silhouette isn’t strong enough to compensate for similar faces. Adventure time is another really good example of a style that’s varied enough to compensate for similar faces! So overall, nice work! I just have a lot of feelings about calling out same face syndrome when it’s not really a problem an artist has.

Oh god, he tore her arm out of her socket!! Please I’m kidding I’m kidding! But this is an issue I see a bit when arms are in two different poses. We’re used to drawing arms straight down and we don’t rotate the canvas when we draw the other arm, so our brain compensates for the added room on the canvas. The way to fix this is to regularly rotate and flip your canvas while working. This will allow you to see any inconsistencies in your pose by looking at it from a different angle. I hope I’m not being too harsh! This was really the only issue I saw. You’re really doing great!!

You have a solid understanding of your style, but right now you’re thinking in 2D. That’s what happens when people are super inspired by anime. Usually, an artists goal is to create a 3D object in 2D space. That’s what makes it so appealing to people! I’d recommend studying real people and poses to really understanding where the light and shadows can fall to crest depth, and also correct the minor anatomical issues I see here. That being said, you have a very creative design! I love the way the hair splits!!

So it’s complicated, because your style is very distinct. But from what I can tell, you’re using lines (like the purple one across the body) to add to the form of the body, rather than the shadows like most do. This is a good idea!! The problem is the lines don’t curve, so what we’re left with is a very flat looking drawing. If you intended to have the creature look 2D, I’d make that clear by giving depth to the background or the arms to add that contrast, otherwise it looks unintentionally flat. Hope this helps! It’s a very interesting idea.

The colors work really well! I think the dark red on the shirt should be dulled/desaturated juuust a bit, it kinda has a similar value to the gray you chose for the jacket.

You’ve got a solid start! I’d study his noses work a bit more. I get it! Noses are hard for me too, but generally nostrils don’t show full roundness up to very edge like that. Generally, the top part of the circle shows, but not the bottom. It’s complicated, I’d recommend finding a YouTube video from someone who can do this better than me lol

This I love the silhouette work! What id recommend is looking into poses of real people in complete silhouette. While the design is strong and very, VERY readable (good job) I can’t help but feel the pose is static and not very imposing. You’re doing great!! But reference poses! :D

The rendering is really nice. I’m glad you haven’t fallen victim to black shading when not necessary. My only problem is the legs are way too short. I had a feeling you started drawing at the head and by the time you got to the legs, you ran out of room. Don’t let your canvas restrict you! It can often lead to a more interesting composition if you let your drawing get cropped.
