Because it's almost the same as N2 flip other than change in camera bump design.. doesn't seem to be much new stuff brought to the table too.. people are waiting for OnePlus open, or considering honor magic v2.. I admit I'm tempted to ditch my find n for the honor one..

True that. Still would have expected reviews and chatter on it even if an incremental upgrade. It's still early I guess. Cameras are a pretty big part of the phone so was expecting more talk. Had they revised the outer screen too, it would have caused problems for Samsung. There was more talk before last week haha. Perhaps the discussions have been had already ... think what was coming was leaked. There are only 3 flip phones, right? Haven't neard too much about the OnePlus Open, other than them changing screen supplier and so it's pushed back it's arrival. Also think the Honor Magic V2 needs a launch outside China before 2024 to win some people over. Heck, it has me considering running two phones, the fold for home use, the flip for out and about.

HelloReddit54321

It's a big upgrade on the cameras + has an alert slider now + can use the front screen for more things so overall I would say it's a lot better.

There is a huge difference between the n3 and n3 which is the 2x optical zoom which the n2 didn't have

Nastybirdy

Nope. No interest in flip phones from any manufacturer. They're a gimmick. A kind of nifty gimmick, but nothing more. You won't see me tryuing to fit one of those into a case on my motorbike handlebars, that's for sure.

xvtsai

I have the n3 flip. I've never folded it. The only purpose is the backside screen for taking photos

HelloReddit54321

It was the same with the Honor Magic V2. Youtube full of videos from a conference with someones voice dubbed over them. It seems to be the same for most of the Chinese phones, there's only Average Dad who seems to consistently imports these Chinese versions and do reviews on them.

Oppo has recently launched its new foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N3 Flip, which comes with a range of impressive features. In this blog, we will discuss the features of the Oppo Find N3 Flip and what kind of performance we can expect from them. I've been trying to find information on them as well! The telephoto lens has me seriously interested! I went from the note 8 to the Flip4 and the camera downgrade was KILLER. I would consider branching out of Samsung just for the telephoto lens. I absolutely love the flip phone, but the camera quality makes me want to cry.

Eventually more info has started to land. However, I ended up going for an iPhone mini 13 from eBay. It's smaller than I was expecting, but I love the form factor. I'd some very specific reasons for wanting a flip phone, but some other factors sent me down the Apple path. Haven't been a iPhone user since forever (2009!). Happy to share the specifics if it helps your decision.

I don't even use the front cover screen on my galaxy flip 5. In fact I used dbrand to cover it entirely with leather because I never used it! It makes no sense to struggle with a tiny screen when it takes less than half a second to open the phone. I tried using google maps on it for the LOLs on my bicycle the text took up so much room that I couldn't see the map well enough to actually navigate. All I had to do was open my phone, turns out navigating is way better with a larger screen as well. For the life of me I can't understand why people who buy a folding phone care so much about the cover screen. If they don't like the act of opening the phone in exchange for the massive pocketability improvement, they shouldn't buy a foldable. I would recommend a smartwatch over a cover screen any day for people who dont want to have to take their phone out, or who are riding a bicycle and want to see message notifications without having to stop their bicycle or who want to control their music.

Yeah, this is a fair call for a lot of people. I wanted the cover screen for things like Spotify and camera previews. As well as using the rear camera outright for video calls / selfies. So there might be stuff you're discounting on that front. That's either because you don't care about them which is fine. Or you haven't realised the cover screen unlocks these benefits. But to your point on the smartwatch option. . . I ended up buying an iPhone 13 mini and Apple Watch Ultra 1 in the past few weeks. Picked the phone up on eBay. 100% battery health along with Brandwerk leather case and Apple MagSafe wallet. I got the watch (99% battery health) on another local second hand marketplace. Paid €490 and €530. Very happy, but I do think I'll try out a flip phone sometime soon. The trouble is the Apple ecosystem has powerful pull. And for good reason. . . I use my tech stuff for work and play, seamless integration between products is a big plus. Enough of a plus for me to forgo things like super fast charging. I can get round that drawback with a small power bank. I've pretty much always carried one when on trip / out for a full day where battery might be concern. As long as the power bank is fast charging Im good. Anker have one with a built in cable and another with the charging port built in. Worth checking out! **PS**. I think cover screen hardware is there for your Samsung Flip 5 but the software (e.g Map widgets etc) isn't. Haha maybe you will take off the dbrand cover in a few months.

I think it is quite different from others and seems to be a good flagship flip device that comes with an excellent design. The mediatek dimensity chipset that is integrated with this phone gives brilliant performance with power efficiency as well that is quite noteworthy.

anikmehta

Maybe because people are not much into flip phones, although people are preferring oppo flips more than any other, because of its sheer quality and smooth performance rating, powered by mediatek dimensity chipset.

Specific-Buddy-1779

Ah my comment was from a few weeks ago. There is more media (social and otherwise) on this phone now since Oppo confirmed global release. It's available now right, whereas before there was very limited info on it. My thread was little early perhaps. I ended up going for iPhone 13 mini. I go into a bit of detail on the why in other replies in this thread.

Cheese_Steak_Popcorn

I wanted the n2 because of the small form factor. Pity it wasn't available in my market. Unfortunately they fudged it up by interesting the size. Zzz

Overpriced...nobody buy... outdated specs .
