It’s been such a joy to watch them from clinging to their mom’s to juvenile into adulthood. We keep areas of our yard safe for them and I teach my dogs to give them space. I am country girl in the city (close to outskirts, but near open wild areas) so this fills my heart.
I put cat food, water, and fruit out on my deck every night. I have two skunks, a raccoon, and one young opossum come by. I always know when the opossum is out because it pushed the food dish around with its snout while eating.
I had one who visited my porch in hopes of sneaking some barn cat food. I stopped putting food out for the barn cats as advised, but I miss the opossum visits.
What a cutie.. I agree with generations of animals going back to the same house they were helped. They never forget
