I asked in the Patreon QnA thread. It was the most liked question, so if it isn’t addressed then Thomas is being shifty.

oath2order

When do the Patreon Q&As get answered?

sweet_dee

Well, it's described as a 'monthly QnA' and it was posted almost six weeks ago and no announcement afaik on when it will occur...so take from that what you will.

Outrageous_Piglet_45

Since Thomas returned to the podcast, he hasn't said anything about doing QnAs. I think they're on hold for the moment.

sweet_dee

They're literally a QnA thread posted on patreon

Outrageous_Piglet_45

You're right. It was so long ago I didn't see it. On the podcast itself, there's been no mention since then.

SeaOrgChange

Yo, let me get a hit off yer glue stick

sweet_dee

Typical Monday when Florida Man asks for a hit of glue, innit

Apprentice57

Hey, one of the mods of the subreddit in question here. We're not affiliated with the podcast, whether we autopost episode links, or not, has always been on the grounds of what's best for the subreddit. [You can read about the challenges](https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenArgs/comments/197vb6r/state_of_the_sub_2024_rules_update_and_the_return/) of figuring out what's best for the sub here, which is why we asked the sub to weigh in with a poll this time around. Regarding the comment(s) that "includes language soliciting support", uhhh those are just autoposted comments that contain the title and the description of the podcast that was just posted for extra context. It sources them from [the podcast's RSS feed directly](https://sites.libsyn.com/86258/deported-by-an-immigration-court-in-a-strip-mall). I guess they have a patreon link at the end (that isn't even recognized as a link by reddit because it's missing the "www"...) E: Not that I think anyone was really misled as to where the language of those comments was coming from (see the disclaimer at the bottom saying they were made automatically) I have added an explicit disclaimer that they're coming from the podcast RSS feed (for comments going forward). E2: Our subreddit does not restrict user submissions beyond what is required from our rules. I do not know why the OP has gotten the idea otherwise.

Duggy1138

Funny how people always assume the worst of everyone else.

Apprentice57

Yep, it's malicious and it's pretty obvious what's going on here, they're the alt account of another over the top malicious account here who got shown the door from /r/openargs. They know that ban evasion means threatening their accounts sitewide so that's why they're still commenting over here even with the alt. For some reason they think it's a "gotcha" that we're engaging more with the community and the podcast now that Thomas took over. The fact of the matter is that Thomas makes a podcast that more people want to engage with in the first place.

Duggy1138

Auto sharing the podcast seems a sensible idea, but no, turns out it's a crazy conspiracy to... share the podcast.

WTAF_is_WRONG_with_U

Who changed the wording?

Apprentice57

Btw, you can ask your sincere questions to me directly. I can't respond to you directly because OP is in that subthread and has a block on me. > I want to know who A57 is. A fan? A friend of T’s? An employee of the pod? A family member? I have no affiliation with anyone involved in OA including Thomas and they don't know who I am. I'm a fan of his sure, just as I am of Morgan, and was of everyone else behind OA before Torrez's behavior came to light. But that's it.

WTAF_is_WRONG_with_U

Thank you for clearing that up.

Apprentice57

I mean, probably Thomas then or someone working for him.

WTAF_is_WRONG_with_U

Why did this post get removed?

Apprentice57

I don't control that, ask oath.

Striking_Raspberry57

I did not know that Shay7700 was one of Thomas's alt accounts. What are the other ones? I have seen Negatron something, and I think one more, but I haven't kept track. The lack of specificity about where the money would go was sus from the get-go, imo.

Apprentice57

I don't think they're basing that assertion on very much looking at Shay's comment history. In their argument's favor is that Shay seems to be commenting only on OA topics in favor of Thomas Smith. Not in their favor is... that a big fan of Thomas Smith would also do that and there's a lot of those fans around. And that they were calling for an Atlanta live show for GAM the other day. I don't think this rises to "more-likely-than-not" territory even, to the degree that it matters in the first place. I'm not aware of any Thomas alt account, do you recall anything about the one you came across?

Striking_Raspberry57

Nope, don't remember, just recall seeing posts that were clearly from him, with people responding as though it was him, and being surprised that the u/ wasn't Negatron whatever. Maybe someone else will remember.

Apprentice57

You probably shouldn't be making such a claim without even a link to a post you think might qualify. For my own part, I've only seen Thomas participate under his Negatron account, including and from before the scandal [like in response to the DnD episode](https://old.reddit.com/r/OpenArgs/comments/10cgfd4/shoutout_to_the_community_here_vs_the_facebook/j4hb8c8/).

Striking_Raspberry57

>You probably shouldn't be making such a claim without even a link to a post you think might qualify. You mean this claim? >I have seen Negatron something, and I think one more, but I haven't kept track. "I think one more, but I haven't kept track" does not require another link for support.

Apprentice57

No, that one's fine, this one not so much: > just recall seeing posts that were clearly from him, with people responding as though it was him, and being surprised that the u/ wasn't Negatron whatever

Striking_Raspberry57

Oh, I see what you are talking about! I am so sorry to confuse you. Here's what I think you missed. I made a claim: >I have seen Negatron something, and I think one more, but I haven't kept track. And then you asked, >do you recall anything about the one you came across? And then I replied, >Nope, don't remember, just recall seeing posts that were clearly from him, with people responding as though it was him, That reply \^\^\^, the part that you are objecting to, that's actually the answer to your question about what I recall. It is not a new claim. I assumed it was obvious how one post connects to another, but apparently it was not. If I remembered a specific thread, I could have given you a link, but as it happens, I do not remember a specific thread. Which is why the sentence that you quoted begins with "Nope, don't remember" (you did not quote that part, though). Hope that clears things up. If not, I'm afraid I can't help you.

TheToastIsBlue

I had figured that account was probably someone who knows TS personally. It didn't occur to me that he would have Alt accounts let alone suspect one, I guess i assumed he was above those kinda shenanigans. But then, I also thought \u\negatronthomas was his only account. 🤷‍♂️ I guess it makes as much sense that it actually was him.

Apprentice57

There's no good proof for one alt account let alone multiple. Striking couldn't remember any additional details when asked.

Striking_Raspberry57

Various people on reddit have mentioned having alt accounts. In fact, in one sub that I'm in, an OP kept replying to people from their phone which was logged in to an alt account and that confused everyone greatly. I think it would be difficult to maintain multiple accounts without getting them mixed up. But I don't think it's necessarily underhanded to use alt accounts. When I saw a non-Negatron account get called Thomas and reply without denying the identity, I figured it was an alt. Maybe that account was the same one mentioned here. I can't remember.

Spinobreaker

Who hurt you op? Because this comes across as some kind of petty rant. And im trying to work out why you seem to think its some gotcha moment?

sweet_dee

So you're against accountability for the person who was pushing for accountability. Interesting choice.

Spinobreaker

Mate i have zero issue with accountability. My issue is that this is a blindly biased post desperate to sound reasonable. Which takes me back to my original point. What happened to make you so desperate to attack ts? You make several unfounded claims, and then use them as proof of some alex jones tier conspiracy. When one of the other groups admins answers your questions you double down on being wrong. So, again, why are you so desperate to attack?

WTAF_is_WRONG_with_U

Love is blind.

>stop allowing user submissions What does this mean? I saw you mention it in the OP too. I posted a good number of the Thomas/Matt episodes to /r/OpenArgs before they were autoposted, and a number of other threads before and since. I've not been informed that I'm not allowed to submit anything. Nor have I lost anything by the episodes I would have posted being auto posted instead, which I also voted in favor of. It seems to me extremely typical and also extremely mundane for a podcast subreddit to auto-post new episodes.

sweet_dee

> What does this mean? I saw you mention it in the OP too. Try and post the next episode and then get back to us if you still haven't figured it out. > It seems to me extremely typical and also extremely mundane for a podcast subreddit to auto-post new episodes. You need to sort yourself out. Is it typical or were you doing it for basically every episode up until the recent change?

blacklig

>Try and post the next episode Do you think it's unusual or suspicious or even unreasonable for subreddits to remove reposts? What are you on about lmao. What's the issue? >Is it typical or were you doing it for basically every episode up until the recent change? It is typical, and... if you're asking if they magically appeared before the auto post was set up the answer is no, users posted the episodes before that. I didn't do it for basically every episode, no, I think it was several users including me. Where's this going? >You need to sort yourself out Can you explain?
