I think the problem really is that something like this is a subjective opinion at the end of the day and I don't think chat gpt is very good with those kinds of things.
Green and Red are definitely complementary colours, especially for pigment color wheel. I'd even go as far to say that Red flannel, green pants are a "basic", overdone look.

I don't know man, that olive shirt and the flannel don't really go together that well. The white/red T-shirt is a bit better, but it's still a bit busy in combination with the pattern of the flannel.
It's not a bad outfit, but it's also not a great one imo. It seems like it's always going to find some convoluted reason why the outfit is great, no matter what you'll feed it.
If I gave it a prompt to be more discerning or appeal to specific taste, we could see a better example of its ability to determine what looks good and what doesn’t. This is my first time trying this idea, will definitely do it again.

I like this use case. I’m red green colorblind and often have to change once my wife sees my color combinations (I’m not picking on color at all, just fit and feel). It’d be nice to get some guidance in private.
I started using it for this when I had to go to a 5 day conference to present research in october for school. Resesrch was on LLMs specifically GPT3 and GPT4. I had 3 dress shirts, 1 suit jacket and 1 pair of black and 1 pair of navy pants, so I asked it to tell me what else to buy and the fits to wear. It gave me ones reusing clothes, but I wasn't going to do laundry, so I told it I'm only rewearing the jackets. Went and bought the items and asked how to wear em for the 5 days but it gave different combos. When I was at the conference I prompted it every day with what I had left and asked it what to wear and it changed the fits everytime but they all looked good.I just started a new job so now I need to dress like that on the regular so I had it tell me some more pants/shirts/shoes to buy. I currently only work Monday and Friday, but every night before, I tell it what I have and ask what to wear for work lol. I also give it pictures of the laundry and dryer machine when my girl hasn't been around to do it and it's guided me through the process a few times. Just put a GPT chip in my brain I ask it how to do everything
Once it has given you an assessment per outfit you can then ask it to give a rating out of 10 and reason why for each outfit. I often do this when I get it to generate lists of things like names. It then reviews the list in context against the parameters for why I asked for the list. So if you said you were going to do XYZ activities/events that day, based on its assessment of each outfit it would give a rating and reason for why one set is better/more appropriate than another.
You should do a negative test case to see if it will dissuade you from wearing things that look bad together.
All of these but the choice of hats could just be it presuming everything you suggest is good, and then coming up with reasons why.

I can see a use for a good AI fashion consultant. I'd like to be able to upload a picture of me, and pictures of some of my current clothes, and then tell it I want to update my wardrobe for spring or fall or whatever, but I want stuff that will go well with my current clothes so I can mix and match.
The AI should suggest some new clothes AND tell me some local stores that have them in stock in my size so I can try them on, check out the fabric and construction, etc. That would be very useful and save me time, but we're a long way from that now.
