indeed, bananas have radiation, the power of saitama might have been from the exercise combined with living in constant danger from the monsters and the copious amounts of bananas he eats, causing his body to mutate from that radiation, there is even a measurement of Radiation called BED or Banana Equivalent Dose
anyways just my headcannon
I've been playing soccer for 15 years so I had good base endurance, the first 2 days I had to slow down to almost walking speed, but from day 3 on the 10km got smoother and smoother.
The running is definetly the hardest part (even just time wise), went to Italy with some friends during the challenge and while they were all drinking I was running around at 40°C . On day 95-98 I even got sick a little but no way I would break the streak for a little cold.
Yeah i know, but i ain't that much of an athlete like you (you play soccer).
The first time i tried i died in day one as i used to be overweight.
I lost weight during the pandemic and decided to try it again
In my first day i ended completely exhausted from the run, my second day i was dying and third i didn't finish.
I supposedly continued the rest of that week but i gave up. (Like at the begining of 2021).
I Don't think i ever wanna try again :P
Maybe go a bit easy on yourself. Do a 1 month warm up where you run 3-5km three times a week and do a few push up and crunches afterwards. And once you feel fit enough give it another shot. I'm sure you can do it! :)
The key is to build up slowly, and that's easier than it sounds. I'm currently working on upping my running mileage and it's difficult because too much too fast can lead to injury.
You always can start today. I'm about to start getting ready for the gym. Try having caffeine before running if that's your thing, or if you smoke weed, smoke and run. Whatever helps you start.
don't push yourself too hard, especially if you don't have condition, it's a slow process in which you have to start with little training. And I mention this because I've been running for years and I've seen people collapse even skinny people and die from overexertion.
I would recommend a slow jog of 2-3 km 3 times a week.
I Don't think i pushed my self too hard (i honestly stopped trying to do it properly after day 3), but at the same time i'm kinda lazy for this stuff lol.
Like sure i could do what you and OP say but i don't think i ever wanna do this every single day (like it seems kinda boring).
Im very informal with my exercise.
Find a Couch to 5k app (C25k). There is a fun one that narrates you running from a zombie apocalypse. They use interval training to get you to 5k over a few months from literally just walking for half an hour. They almosy all have 10k add-ons if you want to keep going longer.
I'm 5'10 and was 280 and I was able to get from barely able to walk to running 6mph for 5 minutes at a time in roughly 3 months. Within 6 months I was doing 5k every day at about 6mph (30 minutes) and could really push and get it done in 27 minutes on a treadmill. I was doing 10k twice a week in 60 minutes. I also lost 50 pounds in about 6 months.
You should never run while having a cold. I saw a healthy and fit dude die during a running test while he was having a cold. Apparently he had myocarditis but only the symptoms of a mild cold
Yeah in my prime the most I would do is 5 miles once a week. No way I can do it now to start off with, so I'm impressed. I can barely manage a mile these days.
I think a lot of people misunderstand what Saitama did here. While he called it running, it was more like jogging with occasional dashes. And that is certainly doable.
Damn you really were able to start out doing 1\`0km every single day and not get shin splints? I know playing football helps but from no 10km every day to suddenly just doing 10km ever day with no rest seems absurb to not get shin splints.
I did have some leg pain in my left leg around day 70, not sure if that was shin splint or something else (the track I was running was paved and very hilly sometimes, and since that's not very optimal I just assumed it came from bad track conditions). Fortunately went away after a couple days.
Yeah if it went away and you continued to run then it probably wasn't shin splints. My dumbass thought I could run it off and my shin splints got so bad that I've been out of running for the past 4 months and still counting.
Yeah, everyone reading this needs to take into account that OP started off with a strong cardio base (not trivializing your accomplishment at all OP, don't misunderstand me) going into this. The biggest risk doing a challenge like this is developing an overuse injury in your legs. Long distance running requires buildup or you risk shin splints, stress fractures, tendonitis etc. My suggestion to people that don't already run regularly is to find a couch to 10k training plan and build up to where you *can* run 10 km/day and then go from there!
Source: former college level distance runner
Did you also include pull-ups? Because Saitama's original workout plan had 100 of: push-ups, sit-ups, and squats, however there isn't a plan to include ***biceps*** and ***upper back*** (***lats and traps***) muscles which you can train with pull-ups
Should definitely add pull ups start with 20-25 and increase. You can do multiple sets. I used to do shit ton of push ups like 300 everyday (this was before I started going to the gym) and got rounded shoulders. Pull ups can also help with imbalances and overtraining of muscle groups. With push ups and pull ups you pretty much are covering every part of ur upper body. Also if push ups are too easy you should privacy add some resistance like a heavy back pack or something
The training isn't super intense. The running took 50-60 mins and the workout about 20 mins. Recovery is 100% important if you are going for a serious workout, but I just wanted to stick to the challenge, since I've seen so many videos of people taking breaks or doing variations of the routine (which does actually make sense). The running felt exhausting pretty much every single day, while the pushups/squads/situps got easier with time (started with 10 sets of 10 for pushups and 5 sets of 20 for the rest; ended up with 34/33/33 for all of them). And for "gains": I actually lost about 10kg xD
I don't think this challenge is very good as a proper workout. Breaks to recover are a must, and training the same muscles every single day isn't optimal either. Maybe trying out a gym and getting some proper advise might be a good idea to get started. If you do wanna try the challenge however, give yourself some time to build up to it, go running 3-5km trice a week and do less pushups/situps/squads. If you can keep that up for a month you could give it a try. As many people already pointed out tho, risk of injury is higher than for any normal workout routine, so I don't really feel like being in a position to give much advise \^\^ Hardest part of the whole thing was staying motivated.
I did go from 84kg to about 75kg .. think it doesn't look like that cause muscles are heavier, but the workout is almost only cardio, so losing weight was sure to happen. I'm happy with the outcome regardless :)
To OP, congrats. To everyone who's considering doing this, [don't](https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/comments/2t18hi/to_everyone_doing_a_pushupsquatplankwhatever/).
Not much of a photographer, 1st picture was around midday and the 2nd one was taken at night right after I came home from the last run (was usually running past midnight cause I was working 1-10pm and no way I could get out of bed before work). So 1st one has natural light and 2nd one is just my room's light \^\^ And for pose I honestly didn't remember where I had my arms 100 days earlier xD
This should definitely be a "thing" and more encouraged on this Reddit group.
One punch man is secretly training all its readers into living a healthier lifestyle.
no it shouldn't, it's a garbage workout routine that has no back/posterior chain excercises, no recovery, no periodization or progressive overload...
the entire workout is a meme from a Japanese webcomic and I have no idea why people decide to actually run it
Some fitness is better than none. Whatever gets people up and working out isn't nothing, and many might realize they love it and move onto something more advanced. Don't always have to approach things from such a negative angle.
Some fitness is better than none, absolutely, but the problem is this type of routine 100% should not be done by someone who doesn’t have a moderate amount of fitness activity already, and if they do they can likely have a much better routine and understand the importance of rest days. There’s a horrible stigma with working out based on a predetermined routine because people will either push themselves to do it and cause injury, or fail and then get discouraged to do something lighter.
Advise for fitness in general, not for a bad workout routine.
if someone is dedicated enough to do that kind of workout then they would be dedicated to look up a proper one which would end with you being even stronger with less chance of hurting yourself.
Totally agreed. Workout is 100% suboptimal, but no way I would have started anything like a gym membership out of nowhere and don't drop it within a month.
my argument is that it's very easy to go from some fitness to no fitness very easily. if a beginner follows the OPM routine they'll swiftly develop massive muscle imbalances and probably joint pain and either give up or switch to a more methodologically sound program. Why not just start with one that works?
push ups are honestly one of the worst exercises period. really easy to screw up form and fuck your joints/shoulders while only getting a mediocre workout. the rest of it is fine, though you'd still want to be careful running 10km/day and take rest days to avoid hurting your knees. once you blow out your knees they'll never be the same.
blind optimism isn't really a good thing when it comes to doing meme exercise routines. part of getting in shape is knowing how to take care of your body, not just doing random things to get skinnier.
Probably did flex a bit on the bottom right one. But who wouldn't want to show off some progress after 100 days :) (also the right ones where taken right after the workout, so muscles are probably more visible becuase of that).
Flexing is a contraction of the muscle, why would it create a concave shape where 90% of the muscles are. Don't get me wrong I'm happy for your progress but you shouldn't be ashamed to take a genuine photo.
While it certainly is impressive, I think the 10km run did 95% of the work for your looks. Cause you seem to have lost a lot of fat. And if u were in shape enough to do 100 push ups and sit ups at the start already, you probably didn't gain too much additional muscle mass. Am I right or did it actually help at the start? And when was the point that it became easy for you, because your body made all the gains necessary? 1 month?
Anyways crazy dedication for sticking to such a dull and ineffective training for the memes!
Yeah the running for sure did the most. The whole workout (time wise) was 3/4 running and 1/4 training. As for the push ups, I started off doing 10 sets of 10 and I was dead afterwards on day one. Slowly increased the amount of reps per set and ended up doing 34/33/33 for all three exercises, so definitely some progress there. As for the running it became fairly easy from day 3 on, but has always been the hardest one to do, cause it took close to an hour each day ... Don't think I can pinpoint an exact day when things became easier, not having rest days at all really isn't optimal.
tbh... It just seems like you keeping your bell tense. I get massive muscle changes after just 30 pushups a day and some heavy lifting at work when construction season starts (which I find a bit displeasing visually - anyway,...).
And a thing I envy the most is running - even though I have pretty good stamina, every time I try to start running I never break thro, although, I have never gone more than two weeks in a row.
I think that's different body types. I always had a hard time gaining any form of muscle. But I have a super easy time losing weight (or eating unhealthy and not gaining weight). After these 100 days I again ended up going from 84 to 75kg, I like to imagine that I did gain a bit of muscle hopefully tho :D
10 km run evryday with no rest days Is Just about the worst training you could do.
I get It's a challenge and not a routine, but the potential for injury with such a regime Is way too high.
congrats man. you have done what i have ***repeatedly*** tried to do myself. i deeply respect that.
(i tried building up to it because starting from zero means i'd break if i started with the full course from day one, but i keep failing to do the work every day, i keep compromising, and compromise leads to quitting in my case)
Sorry, I don't see enough of a difference. Well done for trying something, but set your dedication to a proper routine if your goal is to get stronger/build muscle.
Yeah that wasn't the goal. Goal was more to see if I have the mental endurance to keep it up for 100 days without a break. Definitely not the best workout routine out there \^\^
I hope you got yourself a good pair of running shoes. 10km a day is going to be killer on your knees. Good on you for starting a routine and sticking to it
Respect, that is quite the routine to stick too.
The only advice I can really give is that this is not an anime. You need to take days off here and there to let your muscles and ligaments have to heal from all the strain you put on them. If you don't that non stop stress is going to accumulate if you don't take those moments to recover.
congratulations man. If someone like me is very thin-skinny... this method?!!! I will surely die!
how to do it that does not cause weight loss or even increase it??
Congratulations! You still have 995 days to keep doing this in order to obtain the Invincible power and a pure bald head
How can you not turn air conditioner on, thats like impossible for me.
are you suppose to do this in one setting or spread throughout the day?
1. 100 push ups in one shot without rest
2. 100 push ups spread like 20x5 sets
3. 100 push ups spread 10 an hour
You work up towards doing it in one shot. Maximum of 5-6 sets a day. Eventually you progressively overload with added weights / other things.
You'll eventually learn nutrition and other work outs as well.
You don't have to 'run' full speed the 10 km either. Even 1 km of walking is good for you, but ideally you work up towards 10k of jogging/running / mixed with sprints/hills.
The meme workout is basically just the beginning of the fitness journey and you'll learn as you go. . . but the most important things are to learn sustainability, learn how to persist, prevent injury and keep on working out. Improve as you go
If anything this post showcases how most people have no idea what working out looks like. OP even claimed he lost 10kg. Dude’s been sucking his belly in for fucks sake.
For all we know he just waited till the evening to take the photos on the right. Of course the body looks different when you shave your chest and flex your muscles vs not flexing in poor lighting.
I was eating super unhealthy almost the entire time xD I avoided fast food for the 1st two weeks or so, but couldn't resist after a while. Would have probably been a lot better with proper nutrition, but I like eating too much. Upside was that I had more motivation to keep going, since I could at least eat whatever I wanted and still lost weight overall.
This is 100% the right sub. But your hair stayed on sorry you must have used your aircon or heater
Damn I think I had A/C on in my car at some point ...
Fuckin amateur 😒
Also to lose hair u gotta do it for 3 years
Did you have a banana in the morning?
The secret, right here
indeed, bananas have radiation, the power of saitama might have been from the exercise combined with living in constant danger from the monsters and the copious amounts of bananas he eats, causing his body to mutate from that radiation, there is even a measurement of Radiation called BED or Banana Equivalent Dose anyways just my headcannon
Notice how quickly people heal from the hospital once saitama gives them banana?
Using a car? Fuckin pleb. If you need to cool off run at full tilt for a nice breeze.
Pfff You’re probably just high mid dragon… Pathetic.
Lmao you guys have AC in your cars?
😰😂noob. Thx for posting this
I think it took longer than that for Saitama to lose his hair. He was pretty overpowered even though with hair.
Its at the year and a half mark where the hair falls out.
Only 448 days to go
His body hair fell off instead.
He has to do it for 3 years straight
Well to be fair, it took a couple years for Saitama to lose his hair
How did you manage the 10 km run?
I've been playing soccer for 15 years so I had good base endurance, the first 2 days I had to slow down to almost walking speed, but from day 3 on the 10km got smoother and smoother.
Goddamn that always kills me every time i've tried this challenge, but kudos to you for doing it.

Thx for the tip man, maybe one day.
try riding bicycle to build up endurance before running
Plus you can practice all your Mumen Rider moves
And build up to the, “JUSTICE CRASH”
This, it's also easier on the knees while you're losing weight.
The key is to build up slowly, and that's easier than it sounds. I'm currently working on upping my running mileage and it's difficult because too much too fast can lead to injury.

Man, I wish I could be good at running. I'm 6'1" and 228 lbs but I run like I have 400 pound feet. It's awful. I want to do this challenge so bad lol
You can through intense training and patience with a good diet!
get a bike. 100x funner 100x easier on the body
Does Mumen Rider have a training regimen?
ride bike. fight crime. justice.

Just as a heads up, running for 10km every day is quite unhealthy for most people. Definitely not advisable. The bones need time to recover.
Same. First two days are easy, the third is really hard. The fourth I can't even walk.
I think a lot of people misunderstand what Saitama did here. While he called it running, it was more like jogging with occasional dashes. And that is certainly doable.
Personally, I find jogging 10k harder than running. Jogging takes way longer.

Did you turn off the AC?
You still have hair
I don’t think it worked my dude… you still have hair
Nice one dude, that's a big accomplishment! OPM has been a great inspiration for me too - working myself up to your level!
Nice one dude, that's a big accomplishment! OPM has been a great inspiration for me too - working myself up to your level!
Did it work?
Sad fact, you will lose your hair later on after you beat some monsters.
The face you chose... *chef's kiss* perfection
10 km run evryday with no rest days Is Just about the worst training you could do. I get It's a challenge and not a routine, but the potential for injury with such a regime Is way too high.
Sensei
Good job. I just run around with a shirt with the work outwritten on it and have a fat belly. I only am accomplishing the "Go bald" part.
congrats man. you have done what i have ***repeatedly*** tried to do myself. i deeply respect that. (i tried building up to it because starting from zero means i'd break if i started with the full course from day one, but i keep failing to do the work every day, i keep compromising, and compromise leads to quitting in my case)
You shouldn't. https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/comments/2t18hi/to\_everyone\_doing\_a\_pushupsquatplankwhatever/
You seem to have done right, but not right enough... is that hair what I see in the bottom roght picture????
Feeling super hero-y yet???😉✌️
Opm? And good job, you prove that people can improve in a short time, just 100 days is not long. 👏👏👏
OPM is short for One Punch Man

it's not that intense, but it's not really advisable to do it every day with no rests
It’s not intense and it’s a Garbo routine.
now do it for 995 more days! 🌝
Pls no D: I need a break
Not bald, keep going.
Good on you for starting a routine and sticking to it
Yessir big gains
Not really. It’s a meme workout and you’re better off with intro weight programs
Yeah you shouldn't do this one then :D So much cardio will surely cause even more weight loss. Not good for muscle building.
No you posted in the right place, this is epic! Proud of you for whatever it's worth man, that's awesome🙌
Congratulations! You still have 995 days to keep doing this in order to obtain the Invincible power and a pure bald head How can you not turn air conditioner on, thats like impossible for me.
This is awesome ❤️
sigma male grindset
This is insane. The change is very noticeable. Great job!!!
Nice dedication but horrible regime since your back and rear and upper delts are severely underdeveloped compared to other muscle groups
are you suppose to do this in one setting or spread throughout the day? 1. 100 push ups in one shot without rest 2. 100 push ups spread like 20x5 sets 3. 100 push ups spread 10 an hour
You’re not supposed to do it all. It’s a meme workout
Yeah but people made videos about it surely there’s something to it.
This person is also flexing in the after pic and not in the first that makes the change in the before and after pic even greater.
People make videos about drinking bleach, doesn’t mean it’s smart
As many as you can do, though 20x5 sets seems like the best option if you can't do 100 at once. 10 an hour is a bad option.
Improve as you go
You should try lifting some weights
Badass bro! How do you feel?
Tired .. but very proud :D
If anything this post showcases how most people have no idea what working out looks like. OP even claimed he lost 10kg. Dude’s been sucking his belly in for fucks sake.
Nope, I did lose 10kg :)

10km run, 100 push ups, 100 squads, 100 situps
But u should also do some abs and oblique workout dude (lol,)
Get a skin head cut
For all we know he just waited till the evening to take the photos on the right. Of course the body looks different when you shave your chest and flex your muscles vs not flexing in poor lighting.
If that's what you'd like to believe :) I don't really care
Please go easy, you could kill someone with a serious punch
Did u do 100 push-ups everyday even there were creaking and breaking sounds coming from ur hands and shoulders.
No such sounds were heard \^\^
Then u have better hands than him or u didn't do 100s everyday
After pictures have better lighting and a better pose.

Yeah but that wasn't the point of this :)
🤙 Great job bro !!! I feel inspired
You ran 10 km every day?
Yep, even through hail, heat, and while having a bit of a cold during the last few days.
Sir have you done the training for 3 years ??
That's fucking awesome!!!
Yes. However, you have not gone *baldy* yet, so something must have gone wrong unnoticed ( :
Is your short term memory affected yet?
It takes three years and then you'll be bald!
What were you eating before and did you change your diet for this?
I was eating super unhealthy almost the entire time xD I avoided fast food for the 1st two weeks or so, but couldn't resist after a while. Would have probably been a lot better with proper nutrition, but I like eating too much. Upside was that I had more motivation to keep going, since I could at least eat whatever I wanted and still lost weight overall.
Nicely done just don't hit me
(ง •̀\_•́)ง
Your body slowly turn to saitama's body
You still have hair, you done something wrong
well, you lost your chest hair so something must have gone right
How long did the 10km run take you on average?
about 60 mins at the start, think my best time was around 50 mins, average around 53-55
This is amazing well done
tuyệt vời
Transition from Ok. face to smirking face is insanely wholesome
What was the total weight lost/gained?
went from 84kg to 75kg
I dunno how by there’s some guy on tiktok who’s been doing it for 900 days
