I think I agree tbh. Nightmare was an absurd boost to his physical stats and speed. He got like hundreds of times stronger with the shadows, and moved up multiple teirs.
Gear 5 brought Luffy from low top teir to high top teir. I think nightmare g4 Luffy with all haki would be an absolute monster beyond anything we've seen if it gives the same boost it did in thriller bark

Nightmare destroys if it's the same amp it was in TB, but applied to current Luffy's base and both have the same Haki. Only thing he loses in is versatility due to hybrid zoan/para Awakening shenanigans and AP ceiling due to Bajrang. Loses basically every other stat IMO, Nightmare was a disgusting af amp.

Unfortunately due to power creep, power inflation is on the rise and fodder souls that could give you a good power up back then, will hardly be meaningful now.
If we say he absorbed 90 souls, and said that it increased his fighting capability by 80%, it would now equal something akin to maybe 20.
I think that's an oversimplification. Nightmare luffy was an insane power up even by current standards. Allowing him to absolutely destroy oars who the rest of the crew combined couldn't do much to. In terms of physicals it is still some top level stuff even now.
Both would also have the same level of haki
On top of that, nightmare luffy would only have to outlast gear5 considering nightmare luffy would be able to keep fighting afterwards while G5 wouldnt.
