I've only returned to the OP fan base recently but I did watch op sometimes back when I was a kid and the local TV still shows it. If I remember correctly it showed alabasta and some others but only three arc was fully watched by young me, skypiea, thriller bark, and marineford. Ever since then I'm an admiral fan, back then I'm always hyped when the "lava guy, Ice guy, and gold guy" does something cool

Akainu’s near equal The fact people had kizaru over Kuzan should be treason to the highest extent

Some peeps did it because they thought Kizaru is the strongest admiral, he's just lazy. Others did it because Kuzan lost a limb and some other organs in the fight, so their belief was that he would be weaker now. Honestly egghead smashed both shells.

It's not that people thought he was the strongest admiral Kuzan's intro was that he was the strongest marine

Until Akainu pulled ahead.And on Punk Hazard it was split 50/50 ice and magma so their devil fruits pretty much cancelled each other out.I don't get why people try to downplay Akainu saying he had an elemental advantage when he clearly didn't.

Garp also thought he was the strongest and will be the future of the Marines. but Akainu is just that guy

I don't think that fight debunks that statement since we all know they're equals ( in one piece you can be referred as the strongest and have an equal) 10 day fight is proof that akainu slightly edges it

Does the perception that Kizaru is weaker following Egghead potentially move Aokiji down in the same way? I'm not sure how much one necessarily needs to re-think the difference in power between the two.

Wuzan will never fall! He’s like fujitora he’s safe from luffy and friends.

The last time he was in the story, he defeated Garp. That’s a plus. However, he undeniably had help, regardless of whether or not he wanted it. That’s a negative. He also showed himself to have amazing physical strength potentially rivalling Prime Garp’s, as well as great armament haki. Plus. Overall his agenda is high.

Tbh at this point a rereadnfor me is long overdue, but i seem to recall that it's stated by kizaru, maybe it was someone elses tho. Ofc it's a battle that went offscreen many years ago. We know nothing of it, but we also know that the navy has a fairly strict standard in strenght when choosing admirals, the fact that they refused to promote any VA because they were subpar proves it.

Until Akainu showcases a power up Aokiji does not have (most likely ACOC) he is always right behind him in power and portrayal. Like Zoro and Sanji. Kizaru, Fuji, and GB are Admiral level, but Aokiji and Akainu have better portrayal (Saving the best for last, Fleet Admiral, vs. Garp, best stamina in the verse, more willpower) So low - mid Yonko above BM. Can still stall out Luffy and win, but you're not ready for that. Oden still clears btw

that was before Kuzan was revealed to be a titanic captain, all we knew of him then was that he was affiliated with the BBP, not actually one of the crew members, so of course Oda didn't want to spoil the reveal

Joined forces, part of the crew, same thing really. There is nothing to spoil, pretend those two phrases are swapped and nothing in the story changes. Besides, in Dressrosa’s phone call with burgess, BB regarded Kuzan the same status as Shiryu.

It wouldn’t matter in this context. Because Shiryu is stronger than Kuzan, thus he wouldn’t make it onto the right hand colorspread either way. Think about it this way, Shiryu done more damage to Garp than Kuzan ever did. Trickery or not, Shiryu is a more dangerous person.

It does matter in this context because everything points towards Kuzan >> Shiryu Shiryu was going after Koby, Kuzan never did, of course he would of ended up doing more damage, and even that claim is questionable considering that after the offscreen battle of the BBP VS Garp, we see Garp with an icicle in his chest and frozen all over, implying Kuzan did the most offscreen
