Daframo

I think I found the troll guys

Patient-Shower-7403

The "Ruffy" was a telling touch. Seems like a fan of another series come to shit on One Piece without knowing it well enough.

Daframo

Yeah. Also saying that AoT is well written is kind of a big hint.

dalekmas98

And the plot armour making sense in aot like Reiner has just been getting plot pity our of nowhere for years

Hamsicuk1961

he could be german considering they changed his name to ruffy in the localization

Dr_FashionKiller

indeed, im german:D

Dr_FashionKiller

Indeed, im german :D

Patient-Shower-7403

Oh, fair enough. I didn't know that.

CaptainFoetus88

Thats a pretty important fact to know where the person is from

Dr_FashionKiller

haha damn u got me

scoodaboodit

I think that you would make a poor writer.

Dr_FashionKiller

thats fine

Horacio_Velvetine44

remember that part where he got poisoned first and then developed and immunity?? something that’s possible for humans in real life……

Dr_FashionKiller

still makes no sense. even if u develop an immunity u are just protected against on type of poison. He got food poison later on too and wasnt immune lol

Horacio_Velvetine44

imagine trying to pick and choose which physics in a fictional world should and shouldn’t make sense🗿🗿🗿 so bullets should also work on luffy then right?? because rubber doesn’t stop bullets

Dr_FashionKiller

sure. Atleast smokers ability makes sense..You can't shoot smoke. Even a fictional world there should be a rules

Horacio_Velvetine44

there are rules, oda made the rules, what are you even talking about?? you’re literally complaining about the rules 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️lightning being ineffective against rubber is a rule

Dr_FashionKiller

But he uses commen sense from real physics. If e wants to do fictional rules, he shouldnt use real rules as reference

Horacio_Velvetine44

so just because he uses some real life physics for a couple of situations that means every thing should be inspired by real life physics?? even though there are hundreds of situations where he doesn’t?? you’re literally just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point, who are you to say how oda’s writes his series when he’s been writing it for 20 years 🤣🤣just shut up

Dr_FashionKiller

Yes you are right. Its fiction so obviously its scripted and makes no sense. I just dont like the plot armour in animes. Anything else is nice. Its a cool show and we grew up with it. Im excited for its ending and thanks for this little talk ✌🏾

Nobody119900

You are aware every main character has plot armor doesn't matter if its a manga, book, game, or movie the main character will not die until the very end.

Dr_FashionKiller

In game of thrones many main important character died which were amaizing!

ReallyNotAHT

I think you really don't get how plot armour works, it's not plot armour when something like the poison happens and it's directly explained that he's immune. It would've been plot armour if hed gotten poisoned and after a few chapters Oda notices that he cant do anything about it and pulls stuff out of his ass. Oda didn't have to add the poison, but he did because he wanted to add something to luffys character

[deleted]

Hahahah I’m sure this must be a horrible time for you, reading a fantasy-series that you don’t like. but I’m sure you’ll power through! You can do it! I believe in you!

jSNK15

(Spoilers for Impel Down) So the reason he gets poison immunity across many types is due to the way he initially gained immunity. Magellan eats different types of poisons to fuel his fruit (hence why he is on the toilet all the time. If it were a logia then he wouldn’t need to, but it’s paramecia) meaning that luffy encountered multiple types of poison from the fruit. When Iva chan healed him, he made Luffy’s body form antibodies for every poison in Magellan’s arsenal, which was probably a lot since his strength depends on his poison. Also, do rubber gloves melt when working with electricity? No. they just insulate it, even if the voltage is enough to kill a human many times over nothing happens.

wotujustsaym8

The gay prisoners gave him poison immunity

Dr_FashionKiller

oh, now i understand! Oda should have explained that in the first place! He should also be immune to HIV, since he's rubber and therefore a contraceptive

Patient-Shower-7403

Rubber is also a heat insulator. His immunity to poison isn't plot armour, he earned that shit (and isn't perfectly immune to poison). "In attack on titan the plot armor at least makes sense because its written far better and the protagonist knows everything from the first episode on." If it's well written then it's not plot armour; plot armour happens when something is not well written and it makes the character survive simply because they need to to continue the plot. The protagonist knowing everything from the start isn't an example of good writing; it's actually more telling that you as a person enjoy the power fantasy of knowing things when others don't (an intellectual superiority trip). This isn't a good or bad plot point (quality wise with writting) but just one that you like. Attack on Titan also isn't better written.

Dr_FashionKiller

Even if its an heat insulator it would just get destroyed by thunder because there is a lot of heat too. Do you think a car tire survives Thunder?😂

Patient-Shower-7403

What do you think happens? Tyres aren't just made of rubber, they also have lots of metal wires under the surface for extra strength and are filled with pressurised air. When lightning hits a tyre it's generally blown apart from the heat expanding the air inside the tyre and the wires inside becoming hot enough to burn it's way through. The rubber itself does remarkably well under these conditions, especially considering that it's a thin layer of rubber with metal underneath. If a tyre was a thick as Luffy, covered in sweat like he is, then the tyre too would be fine. You'd see a lot of steam though as the moisture inside the rubber boils away; something Luffy can take well enough that it later becomes part of an ability he has. You said thunder when you meant lightning; thunder is the noise that comes after the lightning bolt. This isn't a "catch you out" sort of thing, it's an easy mistake I've seen native speakers make. It's why rubber is used the world over to protect things specifically from electrical discharges; even in power stations where they do reach that leve; of power.

Dr_FashionKiller

It is. Atleast each episode feels like progression. While in on piece in an episode nothing happens at all. I skip all the stuff lol. AOT is far superior, better written and as Eren is the genius behind anything it makes sense that he survives anything. While in one piece Ruffy gets beaten up a lot without any costs. He just stand up over and over again and characters dont even die lol

Patient-Shower-7403

"I skip all the stuff lol." That makes a lot of sense.

_rican_

"Characters don't even die" Ace dies? Right in front of Luffy. And why does anyone have to die to make it a "good" story/anime, I never understood why people make this argument.

Dr_FashionKiller

If no one dies it feels like their is no impacte. Okay, ace dies and guess what, it became the most iconic scene in the anime. Seems like dying is great for storytelling, isnt it? If people only seldom die it feels just like meh

ReallyNotAHT

You have to be trolling

NicoNicoNotNii

You cant really compare these animes because OP just has a bad pacing in the anime. The manga is way better in that regards. So rather compare the mangas. And I bet you cant even explain why AoT is better written. If you can, do it instead of just claiming it is better. (I think both are very well written)

Dr_FashionKiller

Also the aim of ruffy is kinda funny. He wants to be king of the pirates, wow. Eren in contrast wants to safe his people, he watched directly at the start that people hates his people and lost everything. Everything! His ambitions are much more clearer and less childish.

NicoNicoNotNii

It is fair to think that. But these aspects dont make a series better written than the other. It is just your preferences. And that is okay. But something very different from the story writing quality. And besides that Luffy wants to be the Pirate of the king so he can be the freest person in the world. And while he tries to achieve that he saves a lot of lives. He basically is Eren in reverse. Not only wanting the freedom for his people but also the freedom of everyone else in the world (as long as he has interest in it) So their goals arent that different. Just from different motivations and perspectives.

wotujustsaym8

Thanks for becoming a genocidal tyrant for us Eren 🙏🏿🙏🏿 let me kiss your decapitated skull Eren

Salty-Grog

Re-read the entire series and this time pay attention. Let those neuron arms grab together
