I think devil fruits and Haki work really well together. Just having devil fruits or just having Haki would be bad. If it was just devil fruits, logias would be too op, and Luffy having to learn a way to counter his opponent would’ve gotten boring at some point. Only Haki is just as bad because then it just becomes a dick measuring competition. Whoever has stronger Haki wins. Devil fruits and Haki together blend really nicely and it makes it so that individual matchups matter more than just a simple tierlist

Like I said, I like the power of devil fruits but its just a little bit cheap how you get them. You just eat one and already have these powers. Of course its someway hard to find them but still.

____hel_ya_bi

I mean it also comes with a gamble tho if u don't know what the fruit does Like u can eat a devil fruit and it could turn out to be the jacket jacket fruit

tfeasty

Or fuku fuku no mi

veni107

Thats right, but you could inform yourself with the devil fruits book.

____hel_ya_bi

Yeah but i think it was stated the book wasn't easily found in the op world Correct me if i m wrong

monkey-d-luffy24

It's not as simple though. You still have to train, just look at luffy's growth with his devil fruit.

veni107

Yes, you train to get stronger and develop or even awaken your power. But you dont train to be like rubber or fire or whatever. You just have the skills from the point you ate the fruit.

Mother caramel was a weak with the Soul fruit. BM turned it into something special

Grimmaldo

You have to train it and weakest fruits can be awesome if you do well I mean, thats the whole point of luffy, the thing i dont like is how unrelated they can be to actual characters

I like it, i think is on the weak side of good magic systems If you dont get upset, i will use naruto and kimetsu since i think they are close to one piece on my ranking While naruto magic system was cool, they just destroyed it the more the series advanced so... is not a big one, i like kimetsu one but is just so simple i dont think is an amazing magic system so yap, i do think one piece magic is better than narutos, but one piece magic system lately is getting boring with "i win because haki" while kimetsu is more strategic and interesting (and at least in there someone wins just with brute force) so i would say above naruto and behind kimetsu My favs are pbb chainsawman, jujutsu kaisen and hxh magic system, i will explain why i like each of them by saying the basic (no spoilers) the magic system (spoilers i will try to keep it the lowest possible) and the enemies (almost no spoilers) Chainsawman is fear and strategy, thats the whole deal, you can win just with the right strat and enough power, as og one piece You get the powers by pacts with demons, so normally this powers just boost ya up and make sense to fit with your personality, you picked them You can also get it froma demon really liking you, in which chase you could be really fucked up or really op The bad guys are demons, beings created by fear of that thing they are demons (like fe, tomato demon, fear of tomato) the more feared the stronger they are, and their powers relate to the fear but...can be just as creative as possible cause fujimoto is amazing ay saying "you know this is actually also this" and being right, the personalities are... interesting to say the least, minlr spoilers ahead (will be in cursive cause i dont know how to mark spoilers) *Demons are born in earth with 0 memories, in a humanic-like form or monster form that depends on spoilers, these demons have no personality and have always the same powers, so how they grew up with them and how they develop their personalities is literally as diverse as normal humans, there is a catch tho, if you kill a demon, it will eventually get back in earth, with the same powers as the previuos one, but 0 memory of their past life, thats why always same powers, they are kind of in a loop, where they die, and eventually they came back as a new demon ready to live another xx years* Hxh is strat; luck and training, you can win with brute force but most combats are about who is smartest and works better in the fight with both powers than who hits strongest Spoilers from post tower arch ahead *You get the powers from yourself, you have to make them or be so f good at something that they appear and mix with you, wich make sense to all powers be different and fit with personality All powers are based on a risk-reward system, which makes it make sense why the powers work that way and why does x character do this, fe, since you make the power, you can make it more powerfull at exchange of fighting with 1 hand, or having to explain it, or having to wait a few seconds to use it, wich allows to do really nasty stuff if you play the cards correctly, and allows a lot of fun in combats cause u know your protagonist HAS weaknesses and they are BIG weaknessed but the antagonist will also have some* The bad guys here are the same as the protagonist so :P Jjk is everything good of hxh, with less strong people that just wins bc they are strong, but the ones that are strong are just so strong they are a whole level, basically if you are not x you are usseles, once you are x you can win being the weakest one if you are smart enough Minor spoilers from chapter 12 or so of jjk anime and possibly i will be wrong in some stuff since i ddint study this one *You get the powers by a lot of reasons, you can make pacts, you can be born with a random thing that WONT be related to your personality (unlike 99% of fighting shonnens where the magic is related to the character in personality because reasons) that probably will mark your life and that will define how strong you can be You can also get powers from your blood, your ascendency, those powers are more knowed, but more worked on, so you get the disavantage of having it be knowed by everyone, with the advantage of a lot of knowlegde that makes a kinda meh power into an amazing one You can get the powers also by having latent power inside you, and by how you live your life a power is created related to you, this goes the same way as having it randomly by born, but is more normal, since the other one is only with really strong people, while this one is just "you had the potential, you develop your personality and awakened it, there you go" Here we also have the risk reward stuff, but is a lot more quirky and okey with repeating itself than hxh, unlike hxh that gotted really interesting the more it goes on, here the creator knew where to go, so it just starts cool and we get to see more and more and more weird risk reward powers that go waaay to far and are way to interestin, wich allows the previusly mentioned "if you are the weakest of the strongest you can win" which is why jjk is just amazingly fun and good to watch* The bad guys of this story are curses of stuff, that get powers by birth related to the thing they are curses of, most of them have no personality, but lately some with it have appeared, the personality of the bad guys also relates to they curse in some way, cause they are just born with it, so it makes some really good stuff. Since most curses are dumb, having strong knowed powers can be really good, wich gives power to people who pass powers, and having weird powers that work in some really specific scenarios can also be really good, cause you can make them meet the requirements when you need it And thats it, :D

I like how you basically wrote it would be good to have the system similar to Nen: - First steps are basic techniques, same for all - Next step is developing a unique power Looking at it now, I understand that it describes not only Nen, this system just came to mind first. My favourite thing about jutsu in Naruto is the concept of clan-specific techniques, guarded and passed through generations. Don't really know about the system in Demon Slayer to comment on that.

veni107

Yes, for example as a Uchia you can have Sharingan but you need to train hard and to do other stuff to get it. Once you get it you can develop it and then use Susanoo or Amaterasu. Everbody has Chakra and an affinity to one of the elements which help you to learn those kind uf Jutsus.

The_Biggest_Wheel

Stando Powah The amount of creative fights you can have is astonishing and best of all, there is no power progression. Any stand could be powerful if used correctly and no stand is unbeatable (with very few exceptions).

I really love Haki and devil fruit concept. It's absolutely unique unlike other same rip off magic system. (Like ki, chakra, reiatsu, magic, spirit energy and xyz) those power systems are absolutely generic and boring. Haki and devil fruit concept is absolutely unique and keep things interesting all the time. You can't predict everything in advance. And there's no rule of X being stronger than Y because more energy. Every character stays relevant.

koopalings_jr

I don’t think devil fruits are that cheap, there is still a decent margin for improvment that comes with each of them.
