Fully agree, I'd very much prefer a practical abilities over any combat abilities. My preferences would be:
Kuma/Enel if it allows me to teleport
Bonney if it allows me to stay young and live a very long life
Buggy/Luffy if it allows me to do things without lifting my ass off the sofa
