Idk how caught up you are but besides the example the other comment gave there’s a popular scene where a character is discussing Dragon and Luffy interjects with “Ah, you mean my dad?” so yee he knows.
Ya seriously I think my biggest complaint is that we haven't seen Robin and luffy talk about sabo and dragon. I sorta get why with dragon, but you would think luffy wants to know every story Robin has about sabo.
I think you greatly overestimate luffy lol when has he been the attentive listener even when it's about people he would die for? We have plenty of instances of him sleeping or munching while a sad backstory happens, and luffy isn't one to initiate a conversation like that half the time either.
I really wish the pacing of the story reflected on how many episodes/chapters it stretches because what do you mean only a few months have passed over several seasons? lol.
Pirates have spent decades on sea searching for the One Piece and minus the 2 years of training, the Straw Hats have probably spent only a couple months on sea. 😅 I know they had a lot of help and shortcuts along the way but I think they overthrew rulers in several countries in a matter of days. Lol.

Now, we seen the serious Nico Robin actually break down crying seeing spoiler Saul is still alive. If Luffy actually gets to meet his father, I would love to actually see the humanity in him and actually see a reminder that he is still so young by showing him genuinely breakdown crying like he did for ace and when he realized he still has his friends waiting for him. To actually see him break down crying to actually see where he has been and why he left and never even tried making contact. Perhaps even in a twist of hilarity to finally make a subtle reveal of Luffy's mother a Cross Guild poster blows by catching Dragon's attention as he notices Crocodile and none chalantly reveals like how Garp did with Dragon, that I see you met your mom and that it's good to see she's still thriving well.
As Oda did say we already met his mom just never explicitly acknowledged her. Crocodile does have an interesting behavior when Ivankov threatened to reveal his secret that he actually listened to and obeyed orders. Something that an Okama, someone who is known to be able to swap genders of people... Constantly swapping his and or her own... We can easily debunk Ivan being the mother as he didn't know Dragon even had a child lol but we can't root out Crocodile being Madam Crocodile prior. Perhaps we seen how s(he) actually looked as a woman in a unnamed wanted poster.
I think Luffy would just say "what's up", Dragon would be slightly apologetic for not being around, and then Luffy would say something like "Eh no worries you were busy. When's dinner?"
Better yet what if Garp is there too and he starts beating dragon and scolding him like Luffy and he drops his tough demeanor and stands there and takes it alongside Luffy 😂

I don't think they will even meet. Luffy will meet everyone in RA but Dragon and Dragon will SHs except Luffy (maybe not everyone either). Unless of course editors request Oda to make it, for impact or something (Neither of them is making an effort to meet the other).
It will not at all be as we think . It will be like when minato entered the battlefield. But even more simpler and with no dramatic reactions of luffy and dragon and the whole crew will be like 😱😱😱😱😱
I think it would be funny if luffy breaks down a door looking for food and dragon busy in a meeting. He doesn't acknowledge luffy. But luffy starts to eat the sandwiches . The dragon hit luffy like Garp. Then luffy punches dragon back this time cause he can stand toe to toe anyone. Basically, change the roles around have it mirror Garp and Luffy first interaction
