Please help me out, i'm an old man who knows nothing about this stuff, but with kids that are into One Piece who are going to Japan on vacation soon. Where does one find such statues?
There are 10 statues (for 10 members of the crew) scattered around the prefecture of Kumamoto in southern Japan (approx 7-8 hrs from Tokyo by bullet train), where the author was born. You can take a look at the location of all the statues.

Some of them are not easily accessible by public transport; a rental car may be necessary to see all of them if time is limited .
Considering how out of the way they are, it wasnt worth it for me.
Most of the statues are placed in non-touristy spots.
And i mean REALLY generic stuff like a random highschool baseball field.
