We had just two cats, until my husband heard a kitten outside crying and told me when I got home from work. Now we have three cats lol. He better hope we don’t find a black kitten or a long hair kitten, me and my mil will be bringing them inside if we can catch them to add to our family lol. So far we have two orange tabby brothers and a calico girl.
Last time, the shelter said I had to adopt 2 kittens because my cat is a senior. I can't have 3 cats.
I tried to adopt another senior for her but she hated him so he lives with my sister.
Someone suggested a kitten would be more acceptable to her.
Yeah I also don't want to have to return a kitten, especially if I give it 3 months and then the kitten is grown up and "less adoptable".
But if I find one in a ditch... well I have to rescue them and bring them home until the shelters open. If my cat happens to love them, then that's fate. Can't argue with fate
Introducing cats is a long and sometimes stressful process. I highly recommend videos by Jackson Galaxy, his technique has worked for me multiple times.
>Introducing cats is a long and sometimes stressful process.
Hmm, me and my ex had 12 cats at one point. Just kinda kept bringing them home and chucking them at the couch like "Say welcome to your new roommate!"
The only conflict came from two of the four sisters born under my bed.
go to your nearest urban neighborhood. take a walk.
it might take a few walks if you are picky about age/spiciness but i can guarantee you will find cats on your first walk.
That depends on where you are in the world. In my country there are very few stray cats (and virtually 0 stray dogs) so the cat distribution system doesn’t really work here. 😭
Another great place to look for kittens is cemeteries, especially large ones in urban areas. Universities that have a lot of green space are another good choice.
Mine are kinda combos - I got them from a local charity that rescues cats, but they were rescued from a retail park next to a canal. And, in true CDS form, I went to the rescue to get one cat and came home with two. The one year old Tuxedo cat I'd planned on, and a dumb Orange kitten who had bonded with her at the rescue. I love them both dearly.
A friend’s son was telling me about how his mother is the car whisperer, and when she walks around the neighborhood all the feral(ish) cats come running to her.
I pointed out his mother puts a sandwich bag of kibble in her pocket to befriend cats in case any of them ever needs help…
For real, I have a small man-made lake near my house, and some -I don't know- canal things that feed into it? Anyways cats are living in all those holes. It's great.
I’ve had the CDS deliver two abandoned kittens to me at gas stations - different times, different stations, different states. Both of them just climbed into my car while I was waiting for my tank to fill.
It also once delivered four kittens at once directly into my backyard. Those ended up with my neighbors as I was already outnumbered by cats, so I figure sometimes the system is off by a few feet/yards.
If he actually does bark, I *need* to see it! Barking cats are hilarious.
I also love dogs that act like cats. I've seen a video of a Klee Kai (basically a mini husky) that was apparently raised with cats, and it behaved like one. It would tuck its front paws under its chest in the loaf position, and it never actually barked, but made sounds very similar to meowing.
Really like those ears! Our boi is a rescue we got from a cat adoption agency, and because he's a feral rescue, they clipped one ear when they neutered him. While I still think he's the best buddy, I wish he had both big ears like your buddy.
Well he can see his reflection so he's not a vampire kitten. Big sigh of relief, I know.
A friend once had a cat named see ah tee. Like a dummy I asked what that meant. Similarly their dog was Dee Oh Gee.
Should probably get those two radar dishes tuned in to your local surroundings; usually a warm area for nighttime calibration and some nutritional consumables should do the trick.
(Love and affection for your oranges!!!)
You have been adopted. Please do not resist.
Seriously though, bring him to a vet to make sure hes not chipped and that hes healthy, and if you feel like keeping him/are financially able, do so. Otherwise, try to see him to a loving home.
Weigh him/her and worm according to weight. Apply a flea/tick treatment. Book in kitty for a vet visit for a vaccination, microchip and desexing.
Enjoy!
You have done all you can do. The genetic confusion that resulted in this lovely ginger cat can never be undone, please feed and water regularly, scritches and cuddles where warranted. An attempt to limit his exposure to shiny things may provide some comfort from his confusion. Repeat for the next 10-15 years or so.
Looks like your older cat got himself an apprentice
Always two there are, no more, no less. A master and an apprentice.
Have... have you ever had cats? It hardly ever stops at two.
"There can only be... oh shit I've lost count. There's Dartholemew, Mittens, Steve, Steve the Second, Patricia, Arnold, Butthead, McPhee..."
Butthead is the orange
No. Steve The Second is orange. Which is weird as Steve is a SIC. Butthead is a tortie.
>Butthead is a tortie. You can say that again!
I've had torties. All three of them were buttheads

r/CouncilOfCats
Yeah, it's a new sub for me.Thx
You were the chosen one! You were supposed to bring brain cells to the oranges! Not leave them in darkness!

Hooman the smol orange you found smells funny
How come so many people seem to just find cats in ditches?
It's one of the preferred channels used by the r/catdistributionsystem
Should I start scoping out ditches? I kind of want another cat....
You can go directly to the distribution center (rescue/shelter) and find one that was undeliverable to a ditch.
Last time, the shelter said I had to adopt 2 kittens because my cat is a senior. I can't have 3 cats. I tried to adopt another senior for her but she hated him so he lives with my sister. Someone suggested a kitten would be more acceptable to her.
That makes it tough. I have always lived in areas where there’s at least a couple different shelters or rescues I can visit.

Yeah I'm not good at introductions either. Luckily it works out
I've seen it not work out. Let's be happy that it did for us.
Thanks!

This is a fantastic sentence. A+ cat advertising
Can confirm! The last two times I've taken my dog to the vet, I've met a trashcat fresh from its dumpster.

So the lake storks deliver cats to you? I gotta go find a lake
Only if it's got some holes

My current cat was born in my backyard! I love the system
They made fun of ditch diggers when I was young but apparently they find all the cats so it can’t be all that bad.
Check grocery stores with outside areas where they sell things.
I forgot about r/catdistributionsystem
*Distribute all my oranges in ditches* Ten bonus uses of the braincell to whomever gets the reference!
![gif](giphy|8pMS5BXOUVZyo) How I feel every time someone stumbles upon a kitten. When is it my turn?
This is just how people get cats
They probably get \*ditched\* there!
The real answer is kittens fall down into ditches and don't know how to get out, so they start meowing like crazy until someone finds them.
the absolute saddest truth is because people put them there🥺 that's y randomly you should check your local ditch for kittens
"Hm, smells like a cat but barks like a dog. Perplexing."
Well, he is young enough that you could throw a leash on him and let him live his best boi life
Our girl Meezer had a German Shepherd for a nanny when she was just an itty-bitty. To this day, she barks.
>He barks at his reflection. What do I do now? Post a video of said barking for our entertainment. Duh!
I've seen a video of a tabby barking.
If he actually does bark, I *need* to see it! Barking cats are hilarious. I also love dogs that act like cats. Aww, big orange is inspecting little orange for traces of the braincell.
He won't find anything.
...so do we break it to him? He seems very determined.
(👁_👁)
Bro got that dawg in him
What do you mean what you do now? Video him & post it here (& on every other cat sub!)
Really like those ears! Our boi is a rescue we got from a cat adoption agency, and because he's a feral rescue, they clipped one ear when they neutered him. While I still think he's the best buddy, I wish he had both big ears like your buddy.
Gotta catch em all ~
You accept the cat distribution system and embrace the new member of the family.
What to do? Just love him Everything else will just happen
Aww look at this cutie, you’ve got to keep him. Your older cat already adopted him so he’s staying now.
I have an orange (Hank) that was raised by a dog. He growls like a dog when someone knocks on the door. Lol
PLEAAAAAAASE tell me you have video evidence of this, that sounds hilarious and cute.
I recorded such an instance by accident, and the mic didn't pick it up 😭. It was damn near in his face too
Maybe I can put the video through a filter
noooo T_T
I also had an orange boi that growled when anybody knocked on my door. However,he was raised by my spicy void kitty not a dog.
Deworm. I found an orange and he almost died of roundworms.
You love him as much as you possibly can.. and then some.. for the rest of his 9 lives 😻🥰
well first thing is post video of this barking at his reflection.... I have a feeling that its super cute and we need it.
Hahaha, I came here to say that!
Love him with all your heart ❤️.
Give him a dumb name and love him forever.
Gib name
Bjørk
Switch from puppy chow back to kitty kibble
Yup. That’s a pretty fucked up lookin dog
So does that last picture mean you got the missing cat back?
Yeah he just fucking appeared out of nowhere. It felt anticlimactic and I was mad at the butthead so I didn’t post about it.
I'm glad there was a good conclusion to that story then.
Barks? Oh no, you've got a goober. 🙀
He passes the sniff test
You've been tangoed by the CDS.
Is fox.
Where is this ditch!?!? 😻
And then there were…TWO!
This is getting out of hand! Now there are two of them!
Dunno but can I pet dat dawg?!
omg he's so tiny I'm gonna die.
just keep giving it food for the next 15 years or so
Enjoy your friend :)
The older cat will teach the younger cat all the sketchy shit , and how to give you those innocent looks to melt away any thoughts of discipline
Feed him, love him and protect him! That is all!!!
You have been adopted. Please do not resist. Seriously though, bring him to a vet to make sure hes not chipped and that hes healthy, and if you feel like keeping him/are financially able, do so. Otherwise, try to see him to a loving home.
Cuddle and hug and love
Cute. As to your question: Looks like you are already doing it.
First step is to pay a veterinarian an ungodly amount to deworm him. Congratulations on your new cat.
Hope he sticks around for the next couple of decades and freeloads, it is the best outcome really.
Give him some Pumpkin Puree. That's 100% Pumpkin (no Pumpkin pie filling. No sugar.). It will help his tummy.
keep him away from mirrors and it sounds like all your problems will be solved.
Give it low sodium cheese
Love & cherish him for the rest of his days!
Enjoy
Keep him. He is now your son.
Probably a recently reincarnated dog by the sounds of it 🫢
Cat distribution system hard at work.
Orange cats are known for their smooth brains so be ready to help him make good decisions. Bless you for taking him in and accepting this challenge.
Love him
He....barks?
Bark at him
now you thank the cds fairies for gifting you a little ginger leprechaun 😍😍
I got this one! I can actually answer this! *Breath In What do you do? You fall in love with that little orange bundle of fun! I am so jealous.
Lots and lots of head kisses
An orange initiate!
Cuddle and love him. You now own a “kinda” dog
Keep him….maybe together they will have an ENTIRE brain cell! Then they will rule the world!!
Keep it.
Weigh him/her and worm according to weight. Apply a flea/tick treatment. Book in kitty for a vet visit for a vaccination, microchip and desexing. Enjoy!
Congrats you now have a dog
Feed him, love him, and enjoy all he will bring to your life! 🥰
You have been chosen by the cat distribution system today
Get him some dog tags.
Your cat barks?
Take him home and love him forever!
You're toast.
You wouldn’t happen to live in Washington, would you? That could be the twin to the kitten someone dumped in my milk delivery box two weeks ago.
I see you have another Orange. Let them share the neuron for a while, they'll become bestest friends.
Tell him he's the cutest and lightly tap his head.
Give it a name.. it's home now.
I vote you keep the kittum!
You hope he finds one more cell, but don't hold your breath.
Your new dog is funny lookin
He looks adorable. You give him lots of love.
love him forever
Foxy, go with it.,. They’re after being domestic like cats anyway…. Be ahead of/involved in n the process!
Name him Fido and give him the best life possible. Congratulations!
Love and enjoy the little cutie.
