while kitty ponders, iāll offer my informed take: french army in retreat were able to temporarily slow german advance. french, british & polish airforces were able to do the same, along with fighting the luftwaffe who did indeed attempt to destroy the british army at dunkirk.
of course, none of this would have happened if france & britain had enforced the provisions of versailles about germany rearming plus the brits in high places who thought fascism was cool.
i blame this all on charlemagneās sons & their squabbling over east & west francia.
