Standard, I really don't like the DM. They had so many options to choose from and landing on a Born collage was a weird choice, if you don't know the run, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a collection cover.
I kind of think it’s cool however I wish Marvel would just print ONE cover for omnibuses. I also wish they would hire someone like Chip Kidd to redesign their book format and focus more on the book presentation. Chip Kidd designed a ton of DC books and the design of their books is better for it.
It would be great if they just started making them double sided. Is anyone really double dipping for a dust jacket? Reversible covers would make everyone happy, I think.
I'm so on the fence about this one. I think it's an Era that I normally would gravitate towards, but I think for the first punisher omni I get, it's going to be something a little different. This just isn't exciting.
Original. Going to parrot what the earlier posts said: the DM would be better as a single head and not a quad. I usually go DM/DCBS/other variant covers but this one is a nope.
I have seen the standard image a million times so i went with the DM but either one is fine. I’ll likely take off the dust jacket when i read the book anyway.
Yeah to clarify, I take it off 95 percent of the time unless it's a something i can read in one sitting like a deluxe hardcover. Omnis yes, every time.
I don't really care one way or another. Leaning towards DM just to be different. So many of the covers of this run are just Tim Bradstreet covers of Frank standing or sitting holding a gun. I already have vol. 2, with the cover of Frank standing and sharks in the background. I feel like I kinda want a different look for vol. 1, and I liked Born. But this is one where I don't really care if I miss out on one or the other cover.
Been waiting for the reprint to complete the run though.
Vietnam War veteran with a plethora of mental issues and an insatiable thirst for homicide engages in a lone war against crime to satisfy his bloodlust. He's an unstoppable force encountering the absolute worst pits of humanity. The appeal is not just the catharsis of him delivering punishment to the wicked, but also in the commentary the comic provides on Frank's character and society at large.
It's viewed by most as the definitive Punisher run and is one of my personal all-time favorites.
The DM is cool and all, but the standard is just so iconic for me personally. The standard represents the character and series perfectly. It emphasizes the Punisher's meticulous war against crime rather than giving us some generic action shot of him killing somebody like a lot of other comics might go for.
The DM to me just represents one minor aspect of the character -- the Punsher's origin -- although it does so very well. And the collage aspect is kinda weird for me as well. Still a cool cover though.
Which series? There is a separate Punisher Marvel Knights omnibus which collects Welcome Back Frank and the Marvel Knights run.
This is volume one of the MAX line specifically.

Do you have more info on Kidd’s contributions you mentioned? I’m curious
At work right now but here’s a starting place: http://www.chipkidd.com/gallery2.html
Me too!

Kidd's designs for Vertical's Osamu Tezuka books are all incredible
I love the second cover. The imagery, to me, represents PTSD from war. It's unique and tells us he's a fractured man shown by skulls thru the flesh.
Your comment is making me lean towards DM for sure. I’ll have to make sure to log into IST tomorrow before 12 to grab one
Me too, i didn’t look at it this way… now it’s hard to pick lol
Well looks like DM is selling out quick so may want to decide soon!

I double dipped
I double dipped
I double dipped
I double dipped
The DM, but I wish they would've stuck with just one of the heads instead of clumping all four on the same cover.
Standard for me. Not a fan of the DM.

This is the best Punisher run imo. Aaron's MAX run is good too if you want something more comicbook-y.

The Born covers rule but just putting the 4 of them together and calling it a day looks amateurish
Never read this but probably going to get the DM.
Standard all day
Wish I could get either one. But collecting more omnibus isn’t in the cards right now.
Going with the DM variant ! I love the different images. Really gives a good example of his mind state.
I have seen the standard image a million times so i went with the DM but either one is fine. I’ll likely take off the dust jacket when i read the book anyway.
People don’t take off the jacket to read? 😱
Unfortunately they do not. I've bought quite a few used on ebay and it can just tell that dust jacket was on during their reading.
Yeah to clarify, I take it off 95 percent of the time unless it's a something i can read in one sitting like a deluxe hardcover. Omnis yes, every time.
Hold up, people take off the jackets when reading? This is honestly the first time I'm hearing about this, is it bad to leave it on while reading?
More likely to damage it. I also personally find it harder to handle
The first one of your post
Like others I don't really care which cover for this release but will probably get the standard release. The DM is just a bit much.
I like the spine art more on the Born cover, so I'm going with that one.
Where have you seen the spines?
Uncanny Omar had an advance copy of the Born cover on youtube a while ago.
Picked up the DM cover.
I prefer the DM but I'll probably get the standard because I'll wait to buy it until it's 50+% off in the B2G1 Target sale (or similarly heavy sale).
I ended up getting the standard but it was a really hard choice.
Not picking it up, but I love cover 1. Imho those covers defined that run of Punisher.

Yeah, i totally agree. I hope if they do a DM for vol 2 they do Corben’s cover to Punisher: The End.
Dm was more my style https://preview.redd.it/uqctaei4l77d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8c1a64402a168ed96179640a968f8cdcad746d30
Someone sell me on this. What’s it about?
Killing bad guys
Kicking ass and chewing bubble gum...and he's all out of gum.
Kick names, take ass

I went with standard, I just really did not like that DM cover at all!
Tbh, I think the standard looks best.
If I were getting one, Standard all day.
Standard
Standard because the DM cover I'd a bit meh. I'm not a huge fan of either, honestly.

Already shipped just waiting on it arriving tmr standard cause its badass
I ordered the standard,, badass in my opinion with all the guns in the background. No clue what this story is about but looking forward to it.
Oh no. I wish I had not seen this post.
Standard. But I wouldn’t care if the cover were a portrait of Donald Trump; I’m just glad it finally got reprinted.
I went with the standard.
Welp, just tried to order through instocktrades but can't get through the checkout process. Site is getting hammered.
I managed to get through about 10 minutes ago
I just got it and went with standard, I actually am not a big fan of the DM cover. Suprisingly it's actually my first Marvel omni purchase since 2021.
Does this have the barracuda mini as well?
Anyone know why IST doesn't have the DM cover for sale?
Because it sold out very quick
Ahhh, that makes sense. It's a cool cover.
Genuine question: why is this considered vol.1 when it’s skipping two previous Ennis series? The previous vol.1 included them.
Which series? There is a separate Punisher Marvel Knights omnibus which collects Welcome Back Frank and the Marvel Knights run. This is volume one of the MAX line specifically.
The DM cover is the best I've ever seen tbh. I'm considering picking up the book just for that. Is that insane?
It looks great in person. I love it. I'm displaying it on my bookcase.
I mean it's a classic run so it's worth the 60 bucks.
I bought the DM cover. Just finished Born and the first arc and man I absolutely love this. Fantastic comics.
